I was looking at the Marvel Vs. Capcom: Origins on the PSN webstore and never realized this was a feature

    Don't most games have this?

Count me in for the LBP boosting if you guys are doing it on PS3, gives me a good excuse to take it out of the backlog.

Beat the Destiny moon mission at level 5 no problem. I've been less impressed as the beta goes on (PS4), might cancel my LE preorder or at least sell off the expansion pack if anybody here is interested.

my next backlog game is red faction guerrilla, which has some sort of horde type mode. if anyone else got it from that sale like 30 years ago, and wants to do those online trophies.

I really, really love that game. It's great.

Wrapped up Spec Ops.  Ending was kind a dumb.  Cleaned up most the trophies I wanted, will end up with 85% completion.  Not too bad.  Really cool that they didn't make any multiplayer trophies.

Overall the game was alright.  I probably should have played on Normal because I found a lot of sections really tough and furstrating.  I also didn't think the cover controls worked perfectly.  X didn't always put me in cover, O didn't always vault, and once in a while my dude would just stand up from cover when he walked over something which was really stupid.

I think I'm gonna catch Wrencrest on TT before I catch Simmias, in that I don't think I'm going to ever catch Simmias.  He must have been a later bloomer on Trophies.

Stellar is another late bloomer who is undoubtedly going to pass me at some point.

Which ending did you get?

Yeah I happened to be home 5-5:30 so I did one mission and leveled up to 6. Doubt I will hop on again later.

Can i delete the beta? or need it for reward ?

I watched all 3 but the first one was
I got killed in the Epilogue

Like I said, I didn't really care though. I thought the ending was dumb.
Not a fan of twists, huh? The ending blew my mind, personally, and I noticed things during my second playthrough that I missed before which made me love the game that much more.

I really enjoyed reading this afterwards: http://www.1up.com/features/horror-mysteries-spec-ops-the-line

EDIT: Darn it, of course none of the other pages in that interview work because 1up.com doesn't exist anymore. It really was one of the best interviews I've ever read, and I don't believe it was posted anywhere else. :headache:

Not even going to bother with this Destiny emblem. Wish it was something actually cool.

I'm going to be extremely bothered if I dont get my super ultra rare emblem that is totally gonna make me King of Destiny. That's what it does right? And no one will have this but me and a couple of other super lucky people? Cool, that's what I thought.
Christ you guys are cynical. It's a fun little bonus. They don't owe you some amazing shit.

Usually I would agree with this sort of thing, but we are doing work for them. Betas are awesome for gamers, but we also have to spend time playing a game that will not carry our progress, at a specific time during specific days, to help the developer.

Someone needs to take a break from licking ass, and learn what sarcasm means. Christ, Rimjob. Although I could argue here if I wanted...we are helping them with their game -for free- so yes, give me something for it. At least you said it in this thread this time, and not somewhere else....so good job I guess?

I don't suppose any of you chumps are ever planning on playing LBP Karting? I assume most of you have either already played it or decided long ago to pass on it, but there's a trophy where you need to publish a level and have 10 people complete it. Figured if enough of you have it in your backlog we could knock that trophy out with a group if everyone races each others level once (or at least get us some of the way there if we don't have enough people..... which of course we won't).
Is it worth playing after the perfection of SASRT? I don't mind giving it a shot if it's legitimately a good game.

Here, I threw this spreedsheet together that should list whether a game is on PSN or not in the third column. I haven't double checked every listing, but it seems to be working: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_VGqhyscxcgPWr71iMRt8zdLy8hDhY2xYbGrvcIB_q4/edit?usp=sharing

EDIT: forgot to say you need to short sheet A-Z to have them separate from each other.
Nice, thanks! Short sheet threw me for a minute, but I figured it out. :)

Most of the disc-only stuff is crap sports games or things that aren't actually exclusive to console. Here's the list I came up with of stuff that seems halfway interesting (that I don't already have). Any of these worth playing?

  1. Cross Edge
  2. Enchanted Arms
  3. Eternal Sonata
  4. Heavenly Sword
  5. Heavy Rain
  6. Lollipop Chainsaw
  7. Nier
  8. Skate 2
  9. White Knight Chronicles 2

of the ones i've actually played. lollipop is kind of silly, but it's not too long. i would have included wkc 2 on the list if the servers were still up.

Worth it
Eternal fuck ing Sonata (One of the weirdest stories I have seen in a video game.)
Heavy Rain

Lollipop Chainsaw (it's fun enough)

Skate 2

On the fence
White Knight Chronicles 2 comes with part 1. I have always wanted to play part 2, but never got around to it.

Haven't Played
Nier
Enchanted Arms
Heavenly Sword

Sucks
Cross Edge (starts off and seems fun, but a few hours in you just want to jump off a bridge.)

It's fun, as I remember it was about as polished as the first Devil May Cry game. Main weapon is a huge sword (so you have to be strategic with your strikes in close corridors as the blade bounces off walls), but it offers sub-weapons which are useful. It is also one of the first games to use QTEs.

It doesn't list all of them, probably 95% of them, but PC PSN store->games->all games-> then click the check box under game type "disc only."

edit:

I knew I'd done a list for it before of good disc only games. Try looking here

http://www.cheapassgamer.com/topic/332424-psn-weekly-deals-722-superhero-sale-batman-aaaoaob-infamous-12fob-injustice-lego-ps-play-2014-cashback-pre-orders-begin/?p=11892480
I remember that post now that you link it. I'd forgotten about that. And yes I did the "disc only" approach but it actually has quite a few games missing if you use that list.

The list is good, but about half of it is stuff that's also on PC (and will always be my preference when choosing a version.) I was familiar with most of these, but Neverdead I'd never heard of and that looks quite cool. So does Splatterhouse. Both of them are available used for <$10, which is nice.

I think TrueTrophies has only been out for a year or so. It's lacking on guides due to the late start but can still be useful sometimes. There's a leaderboard for this thread. I'm bringing up the rear.
Wrong. I have the rear. You may graduate to that honor before too long, though, as I seem to be catching up.

I know you do. I see you in my rear view window. Glad to see you take your bottom position with pride.

I'd be down for LBPK boosting if I still have it on my HD. I think I kept it to play wth the boy, but may have deleted it to make room for other shit.

I'd also be up for MP on Portal 2 when the servers come back. Got all the single player trophies a while ago and played the first MP section with a buddy, but he never plays anymore (and wasn't really that good anyway).

And you weirdos that own Portal 2 and haven't played it yet are weirdos.

I absolutely hated Eternal Sonata, but I think I'm definitely in the minority.  It's a really cool concept, and I really wanted to like it, but I just didn't.

You know, HLTB would be a lot more useful if games on an exclusive platform had that platform selected. I mean sure if you add AC4 to your HLTB list of games it makes sense to specify which platform you mean...but to have to specify the platform for a PS3 or PSP or Vita exclusive is just infuriating and makes the "sort by platform" feature more annoying than it's worth.  :wall:

I played primarily on Xbox until about a year ago, even though I bought a PS3 first. Then the Xbone rumors started looking like reality and I haven't looked back.

Decided to start selling off the physical PS3 games I've played/won't play. Not much so far, but wondered whether there's a consensus on the best place to sell; eBay, Amazon, or is CL a decent option?

Right now I'm just sitting on these titles, so there's not a whole lot of potential, but I've got a number of other games I'll be dumping as I get through them that will do a lot better:

1. Infamous

2. Dante's Inferno (Divine Edition)

3. Killzone 2

4. Hyperdimension Neptunia (Haven't played this but will do the Vita version instead if I decide to do so.)

I don't get it.
A little light reading

spec ops the line spoiler

Basically Walker came to Dubai for a reconnaissance mission get in, find evidence and location of survivors and get out. But Walker desperately wanted to play hero and "save" the city so he began to go against orders. As a result he does a TERRIBLE thing and his mind can't handle it so he blames Conrad for the whole thing. He needs validation of the presence of the villain so he begins hallucinating that he is talking to him. As Walker increasingly makes more horrible decisions he continues to blame Conrad for it. When he gets to the end and discovers Conrad has been dead the entire time there is no one left to blame. So Walker either follows Conrad's example and commits suicide or he becomes "Conrad" the villain he has built up in his mind (if you notice he is wearing Conrad's uniform in the epilogue).

But it's not just about that, it's about the people who play these games. He references his possible presence in the game when Walker wonders why we are doing the helicopter mission again. When Conrad is talking, he is not just talking to Walker, he is talking to the player:

"The truth [...] is that you're here because you want to feel like something you're not. A hero."

"Even now, after all you've done, you can still go home. Lucky you"

Even the loading screen taunt the player for their virtual atrocities:

"How many Americans have you killed today?"

"If you were a better person, you wouldn't be here."

"The US Military does not condone the killing of unarmed combatants, but none of this is real so why should you care?"

"Killing for yourself is murder. Killing for the government is heroic. Killing for entertainment is harmless."

"You cannot understand, nor do you want to."

etc.

I enjoyed Heavy Rain quite a bit, though it's very hit or miss with people. If you're OK with what amounts to largely an interactive movie/choose your own adventure book, then you'll probably have a good time with it. Personally I tore through it in two sittings and thought it was brilliant.

Eternal Sonata I haven't finished, but what I've played has been quite good. I like the fact I get to feel like I'm actually learning something (in this case some music history mostly about Chopin), and the art style is really gorgeous. Most likely worth checking out, though it lacks trophies so...

It's a good game but I can't really compare it to Sonic. I haven't played Transformed yet and I've only started dipping into the original with my son.

It's basically a nice little Mario Kart ripoff. And the level creator is great if you feel like investing enough time into it to take advantage of everything. Some of the levels people have created are pretty impressive.

My bad, I should of known it was extreme sarcasm. I don't remember ever getting anything from a beta before though, so I'm happy with it.

All I said in the other thread was that Stotch is pretty negative when someone remarked that they were tired all the new negative people, and wished the regulars would come back. Is that news to anyone? I knew he would see it. I'm not a moron :)

Heavenly Sword was pretty good.... but no trophies.

[customspoiler='Heavenly Sword spoilers']I know they were supposed to pretty much be sisters (even if not by blood) but put me on the side that got a pretty weird lesbian vibe from the game. [/customspoiler]
