OK, this Real Husbands of Hollywood show is funny.  I had stayed away because I'm not a fan of Kevin Hart, but he's actually good in this.  I can't stop watching.

And JB Smoove is always great.

Tyler, listen. You must not be aware that SLCC has their staff pictures on their website.

Nice chin beard.

Oh and also, I don't care if people find me online. I ain't got nothin' to hide, bros.
Haha I know its on there. It's like the only picture of myself that I actually like, so I can't post it because Google reverse image search is so easy.

I knew I had dropped enough hints that someone could find me if they wanted though. I mean there's only so many state schools in SLC.

PS: Utah has a law where all state employee's incomes have to be public information and there is a website that shares all this wonderful information.

Alright, I give up. No boob pics for you guys.
Yeah her and I have almost no online connection. We're not friends on facebook or linked in. You won't find her.

I actually couldn't stand Kevin Hart before that show. But it's the perfect role for him. He is fuck ing hilarious. I love when he keeps yelling at people a foot and a half taller than him.

I didn't say she was ugly or anything. Just not my type.

TIL you have to be attracted to every celebrity woman.

Really? I thought that was a Utah thing.
Ok, I just looked and Utah makes it easy as fuck to find the info. MA posts the info online, but it's buried in reports that are hundreds of pages long.

But it makes me glad I don't work in the public sector, I don't want people knowing I make what I make to do what I do. Inevitably you run into people who are going to say "Wait, you get paid how much to do that?"

Yeah it sucks. Especially when newspapers publish the shit. Everyone feels compelled to say "my taxes pay for that shit, blah blah blah". I dont miss it.

Also, when should I play GA in the whole Uncharted sequence? I realize it's a prequel but am not sure if the gameplay mechanics really progressed much with each subsequent release, or if playing GA gives more meaning/characterization to something that occurs in the PS3 games.
I always recommend playing games in order of their release. I'd say do that. I didn't notice anything in GA that would have affected the way I felt about the other Uncharteds. I thought Nathan Drake was the most bland in GA, so I say start with Uncharted 1 where he's a more enjoyable as a character.

The chick in GA is also by far the least interesting and enjoyable. Story-wise, don't let GA be your first impression of these characters.

Yeah, fuck that. They say that the generation below us (assuming you're in the 25-30 range) is the "sharing" generation where they're all ok with having everything out there. There are a few younger people I work with who are fine with just blabbing about how much they got paid. I would never, ever tell someone I work with how much I got paid, nor would I want to know their rate. The second you find out someone makes more than you for doing the same job, it's trouble.

With the public sector, I'd imagine at least rates are pretty even across most positions, but still I'm sure someone out there is saying "That jackass gets paid more than me and I work so much harder than him."

Outbound calling and probably $10.50 per hour, just part time.

It's for a state college, so while it is technically marketing, we're A) only calling potential students who have expressed an interest in SLCC and B) there is zero pressure/pushiness. Right now we're just basically reminding them that registration for fall is open and asking if they need any help with the registration process.

Not trying to actually recruit you, just wanted to clarify that I'm not that dude that calls you during your dinner to sell you car insurance or satellite TV or whatever.

Oh, I'm halfway through the first game and enjoying it a lot, just wasn't sure if I should play the others in order of release or if the Vita version should fall somewhere else.

Yep, 100% agree, trouble all around. When I worked for the government, I worked harder than damn near everyone I worked with. I deserved raises that I got, and my pay rate was always higher than the guys I worked with because of that. The minute that info is out there, you're looked at differently, criticized in everything you do, and just treated with total jealousy by a large number of people. This is from the inside perspective though. The outside looking in is total bullshit as well, as far as taxpayers calling for job cuts, pay cuts, hour cuts, etc. It's not a good thing at all.

On the other hand, as a taxpayer, you get to see all the bullshit that really does happen. Like county managers doing nothing and raking in 200k a year, etc. Meanwhile, budgets are slashed, public services are denied, benefits are slashed, etc.

LinkedIn is a place that recruiters go to tell you you're the PERFECT fit for this mystery position they have in a general region of your city. It's mostly begging of IT peeps to come talk with them or have coffee and learn about this great opportunity.

A good friend and I used to be in the same position at Dell (tech support.) He made 15k more than me and started the same year, but in a different support group. We got the same ratings at our jobs every year due to very similar performance, but I moved to that same group a year and a half after he did. When I moved was right when the economy took a dive; between that, me being laid off for 4 months when my group closed down, and the way the timing fell for pay increases, it just added up. And yeah, that doesn't make me happy--not that I don't think it's great he was being paid that much, but that Dell was so shitty about their pay inequality for similar performance in the same position at the same location with the same amount of time in the job. Everything about working at Dell was shitty, though.

I didn't think so. A lot of my coworkers have their LinkedIn links in their email signatures, but I really 100% don't understand what it's for. Just to tell people where you work?
It's just an online resume and way to get connected to other working peeps through friends of friends. A hipper version of Monster or CareerBuilder.

I've never used any of those sites. I got my job when my company posted the opening on my school's website. I wasn't going to apply, but then my wife (gf at the time) talked me into it. Good thing I listened or else I'd probably still be working at Gamestop.

Originally it was supposed to be the Facebook of professional networking, but now it's just pretty much Facebook with stupid shit like "Likes", comments, endorsements, etc.

I usually add people on LinkedIn when I stop working with them (either I change jobs/positions or they do) so that I'll have some way to keep in contact with them if something ever happens where I could actually use their assistance. Never actually used it yet though.

Hook me up with Melanie though.
I thought she was a little flat looking. Maybe Tyler can provide more insight.
That's my sister.

Haha I actually thought about trying to hook myself up with Melanie when I first started, but I've gotten over that.  She's fairly cute but not really my type.

And Stotch, I wouldn't call her flat but I wouldn't call her not-flat. Kinda in the middle.  She does have one nice push up bra that makes her look great but she rarely wears it.  She is also kind of chatty.

But she's really easy to work with and pretty bright, one of my fav in the department.  I think she has an MPA too.

And notice how I'm kinda separated from everyone else?  Besides my boss and his secretary, I see the rest of those people about 1 hour per week during staff meeting.  I don't work with almost any of them at all.

About two years ago, my wife came home crying. Tears streaming down her face, she told me some paperwork passed her desk that showed salaries, and she found out this absolute lazy jerk in a similar position as her who'd only been working there a year made around $20k more than her.

So... I was like "So... why are you crying?"

Her: "I just told you."

Me: "Right. You just told me you're about to get a $20k raise."

A little bit of coaching, and the next day she went in and talked to her boss (she reports directly to the guy who runs the place). She got the raise.
