jesus. I think on every single level on my first run I'm about 20 - 30 seconds short of the target time. the critical urgency levels actually seem to be the easiest ones this time around, I expect to be able to bust through those. it's the long ass levels with a bunch of obtuse platforming (that still has strict time reqs) that kills me.

still, pretty amazing that you're this close. I suspect you don't have anything else to do today again?
Nope, just work.

I like Velocity 2X, but I'm not that good at it. I doubt I'll perfect all the runs. I still don't quite have the hang of teleporting using the analog stick.

For me, that's what "done" means. Two levels remain, and they're the doozies at 5:30 and 7:00 for Gold times. :???:
A local friend will tell me when he has finished a game and we will talk about it. He has started using the phrase "finished finished" if he got the plat since he knows that is the only times I claim to be finished with a game. So I know how you feel.

I had forgotten your posts earlier where you had moved on from a couple levels, so I assumed when you said done on 50 you would have had the plat. That was why I asked.

It feels kinda like a more polished RE4, with the glaive added. It was a nice surprise.
I picked Dark Sector up for cheap several years ago, played it a 5 or 6 levels and then lost interest. I remember it not being bad per se, but kind of unpolished and a little wonky to control.

I saved the big levels for last because I predict they may give me a harder time than the shorter ones due to how much more is at risk in terms of not dying and remembering the more hazardous parts.

and yeah it shows that the ps4 destiny bundle is purchased on my wish list, but could she just go back and cancel order?

I should have picked a ps4 that was out but she told me to go add one to my list and she would buy it so I picked the white destiny ps4 but it doesnt release til 9/9. Hopefully it's all good and I get a free ps4 ;) i doubt it
I know there is a good joke about holes in a box here somewhere, but I can't quite make it work.....

Congrats man, that is one hell of a tip. I hope blue hair wasn't over and wanted her cut of that tip though.

I cant imagine trying to perfect a 7 minute long level in 2x. I would go insane.
yeah, I think that'll be the main reason I end up preferring ultra to 2x. the overly long levels don't make sense in a game that emphasizes speed, rote memorization and precision. and throwing teleport balls is dumb. at least I'm not playing don't starve though.

also down to 13 matches of tlou mp left. I am ready as all get out to be done and the morning crew has dried up waaaay too much. I did see a dude in a game of supply raid today get 17 downs and 18 executions. I don't even fucking understand how that's possible.

Looks like Dark Sector was $1 half a year ago for Steam. Can't find it now for that price, but it's gone recently for $2. I'll keep an eye out. Definitely going to look for the PC version as it seems to look significantly better.

No trophies, so no reason to go for the PS3 version when you have the option to play it on PC.

I always wonder what someone is searching for when I see Google or Bing show up at the bottom of the page. Could be numerous things considering the conversations that go on in here.

Pete and I appear to be on the same page with this game. Velocity 2X is really enjoyable but the original is better. The spaceship parts are more fun than the platforming parts. Those super-long levels don't really make sense for a game like this. I found them frustrating more than enjoyable at times, and I didn't even try platting them.

The platforming would have been better if it required less inputs. Running, jumping, sliding all work great. Teleporting works OK but could have been improved. But throwing the teleport ball, shooting enemies and crystals on the wall, I wish they would have left all that stuff out.

I'm still gonna work on getting all the bonus levels and completing them, and I may try for the 25 perfects trophy, but that's probably where I'll call it a day.

So am I better because I knew I wouldnt get the plat sooner than you guys did?

Thanks. I was trying exactly that and it wouldn't work. Just kept showing the url in orange. There must have been an issue with the actual address i was using. I dunno.
A lot of gifs on the net now show up as some sort of script link. Those won't work since it is not just a link to an image file type. I know it has kept me from being able to embed a couple gifs in the past.

I'd probably have done even better but I was running out of steam. I'm not a 2 AM gamer. It does kind of suck that I didn't quite make it to 10 billion. :) In general Pinball Arcade plays too easy. This is fine, but I wish they had an "Expert" mode where it would use settings that make the game play shorter AND it had it's own leader boards. For example "replays" wouldn't give extra ball, specials wouldn't give extra ball and even have an EB limit per ball, or no EBs at all (though I'd rather there were some, just not many). Then games would be a lot shorter, but it needs a leader board or at least off-line high score list. I do have the Pro tables, so I can make those changes myself, albeit without online leader boards. It may be the case that the machine will keep it's high score list through power cycles. I haven't checked that yet. If so I'll definitely make those changes, because playing a game for 2+ hours isn't really all that fun.
I suspect purists like you wouldn't like it, but I think some sort of save state feature could really benefit these pinball games. High scores mean long games and I rarely have big chunks of time to dedicate to it. There have been a few times when I was playing where my wife kept giving me the evil eye because she wanted the TV and I kept getting extra balls (think it was one of the Elvira tables) so I eventually just stopped trying and ended my game.

Well, I did play it right when it came out and not since. No guarantee that it aged well. Same situation with Stranglehold which I recommended to someone the other day. I was also in college at the time and smoking a lot of pot. The slow motion glaive dismemberment was really entertaining to me.

Oh and looks like Vig has got this, unless THE CAG CHAMP IS HERE can make a super late run or one of the darkhorses who hasn't actually said anything are way further along then we think.

No.

And slow down. I was starting to get a little closer to you on trophies, but looks like you've been on a surge lately.

Have you considered playing more golf?
You are pretty darn close to Simmias on TT, though. I think his style of play kinda limits how fast he can move up in total points, since he takes the time to 100% everything.

True, but never know when he's gonna go on a tear. But yeah, he seems to have slowed down a bit which is nice.

I'm going to get passed by Vig and Stellar at some point too, so I gotta try and pass some more casual trophy hunters myself. Wren and me are the most casual of that top 10 I think.

I regret joining that fantasy football league. From the second the draft started I was like why the fuck am I doing this shit? I'll probably do close to zero maintenance on my team.

I noticed I was keeping my distance lately as well. I would love to play more golf. But its hotter than a bitches tit here and has been for several months. It isnt fun in this heat especially when you and your buddies want to get hammered.

I was also looking at Simmias along with Tyler since they are both the closest to me. It seems like I have been able to keep both of them at bay for the time being. I am not sure Simmias style is slower than Tylers though. It just depends on the game they play.

I could see him going back and forth with simmias for a little while. In the long run though, even though simmias may take longer on games he also gets much higher point totals on the ones when he does finish. For example, I would wager he will get the 4k+ from TLOU R. That is the equivalent of 2 easier full plats.

Remember that simmias was here in Atlanta for DragonCon all of Labor Day weekend and had been gone for another weekend for a wedding if memory serves. That is a lot of missed playing time.

stalker!

Yup, I usually hit that feeling a few weeks into the season, then everyone I play with gets pissed. But it's so boring keeping track of all that stuff. So I just stopped doing fantasy entirely.

Unlike Tyler, I actually love football.  And I still hate participating in fantasy.  Such a chore.  I just want to watch the games each weekend, not worry about my team and micro managing player movements.  fuck that.

I feel like I'm pretty much stuck where I'm at, unless Matt or Micbelt decide to go on a tear. I can't seem to close the gap on Zimm. I think it would help if I played newer games, since pretty much everything I play has low point values. Oh well, gotta play what I already have first.

Damn, I am going to sound like a stalker again but... I know Matt and Micbelt both plan to go on tears.

Its sad that I am excited about leaving work early today only to go to my daughters school for some parent teacher night.  When you get old you really stretch to find things to be excited about.

Do any Vita games not have trophies?
There are a lot of games playable on Vita that do not. The real question is if this is a PS Mobile game or a real Vita game. PS Mobiles can be played on Vita, but don't have trophies (at least AFAIK they don't). Legit Vita games are required to have trophies just like the other platform games are from what I understand.

I played Madden mobile this morning and Russell hustle and bustle man muscle Wilson threw 2 TAINTs and the Pack won 23-0. Pretty sure that game can predict the future. Sorry Nightmare.

Also, why the hell is there not a Madden on my Vita?!? Or at least Tecmo Bowl

fucking lazy EA.

That's what makes this game so crazy. In the first one, non-Critical Urgency levels had a pretty generous time limit. In this one, it demands perfection so the level that has a 7 minute gold time is basically a 7 minute long Critical Urgency level.

Is this game cross save? Maybe I'd have better luck on my Vita.

It is cross-save. The touch screen will be your friend.

Yeah, if it was something like Bit.Trip Runner, that would have been cool, but having to teledash.through enemies to just make them vulnerable, throwing the telepod and needing to have it ricochet off walls, and not being able to shoot while sprinting just kills the flow.
