I don't want to come across as being mean spirited or whatever to you since you're cool in my book, but it's the ridiculous TLOU scenario you brought up that got me commenting in the first place. You're considering buying the physical version of TLOU for $25 so that you can ebay it and then pay even more for the digital copy. You already have the physical version for $25... play it! I don't know if you live in a broom closet or something but having a few physical games is hardly clutter. There's nothing wrong with buying digital games, but the decision to basically ignore the existence of physical games which are almost always priced better seems silly to me.

Just going off stuff I've bought? The Tales games, Catherine, everything in the $.99 flash sales, lots of stuff in the Golden Week sales, just about everything by Atlus, most Vita games (basically anything not on clearance somewhere or a combo-deal), most of the FF games, etc..

I mean, sure, there are plenty of great deals to be had for $5 or under for older titles on physical, but quite a few games retain their value for years yet the TIV ends up being less than you'd get if you'd had patience and waited for a good PSN sale instead.

Obviously I'm not addressing GS "renting" and the like with this, though I did touch on it earlier with the mention that it takes me too long to finish a game for that to work.
Like I said, there are a few titles, but that really is a paltry selection considering all of the great games that cane out this gen. I don't really follow your (and jkam's) mentioning of dwindling TIVs for physical games. Whatever the value is, it's more than your going to get for your digital copy.

I'm going to get Rogue Legacy. Plus I have that $5 off coupon for Gamestop so I'll get $19.99 PSN money for $14.99. I want that game. Will buy at PS+ discount and not worry about it.

Sweet, I didn't back up my Velocity save on before I got rid of my memory card so now I get to start all over. fuck that.

And yet...I think I'm going to go for Rogue Legacy at that price, if only to support the devs.

Everything else can just go stand in the timeout corner until they're called for PS+, though.

No were cool, I'm not really arguing either...it's more that digital is right for me currently. I wouldn't tell you not to buy physical. I already finished TLOU on PS3. I'm considering getting the PS4 version to replay. I just figure I'd take advantage of the good deal to get it for $25 instead of $50. I might just sell off the PS3 version all together and pick up the PS4 version when it's like $10. Not sure yet.

It also helps I have some points at gamestop so I could probably get about $5 or $10 off too. Should've mentioned that. If I can get it for $15 (with gamestop points) sell it on ebay for $50 that would fund the digital purchase of it ($50 on PSN)...costing me around $20 for the upgrade after ebay fees. Kind of a roundabout way but you get the idea. I get it cheap and I get it digital. Yes for a little bit more, lol.

Also, when my wife and I move into a Tiny House (google: tiny house movement) after the kids are moved on, I guess I will be going all digital since I will have nearly zero space to store anything. But then since 90% of what I buy now is digital-only, this isn't a big problem.

OK, I should say "IF". It's what we are thinking for now, though.

yeah, i'm jumping on rogue too. was gonna buy it regardless, but the gamestop coupon + 20% is a nice little bonus. don't really care about the others.

Damn, I'm pretty interested in 3 of those (no thank you, hohokum).. but ugh the prices. Who am I kidding, I'll probably get them anyway.

I guess we're starting to see the crossbuy tax (most of these are cheaper on PC). That sort of makes the deal of getting several versions something less of a deal.

I'm at the point now where I say by the time I'm really old I don't want to own much of anything. Maybe that's where the digital thing is coming in for me. I'm just tired of "stuff". I don't know if I could live in a tiny house but the idea seems pretty cool.

I really wanted Swapper, but can't justify paying that much for it with so much else to play. I'm thinking if I get RL though, I may as well try out another title for that $3 back...but damn lol, $16.

How long did Swapper hold your interest? Any replayability factor to it? I feel like I will enjoy it and beat it in a few hours, to never touch it again. Yeah, they need to calm down on those prices.

I played it in two briefly separated sittings (had to eat lunch). There's little replay value like most puzzle games, but it's really incredible and possibly my favorite game of last year. Highly recommend, if not at launch than when it goes on sale for something more reasonable.

RE: Gamestop used games

It is clear to me that Gamestop learned early on that most people are dirty fuck ing slobs because when they started getting trade ins, a shit ton of them were disgusting.   So at some point they decided to take in and sell games without the original box and instructions.  They soon realized either before this point or after that the majority of their customers didnt care and bought these games anyway.  Why?  Because MOST PEOPLE ARE DIRTY fuck ING SLOBS!!   If people werent so nasty we wouldnt have any companies taking in games without these things.  And then we wouldnt have people that sell disc only copies so they can hold onto those cases and manuals.

So moral of the story?  PEOPLE ARE DIRTY, DISGUSTING fuck ING SLOBS!!

I learned in speech class that the best way to get a message across to others was to repeat something you wanted them to remember three times.  Cant you tell?

Because his responses are hilarious. He knows I'm right too or else he wouldn't be getting so defensive about it.
I'm not defensive about the way I play. I was defensive when you claimed I had no life just because the way I choose to spend my time playing games. I always admit why I play a lot of the crap games I play which is for trophy competitions and occasionally I will play longer easy games outside of those competitions just to move up the PSN Profiles leader boards. If I had any reservations about it I would stop doing it or in the very least stop talking about it. I reply to your posts because you think you are the smartest most hilarious person to grace the earth with its presence when really you are just a jerk that has no purpose in life but to annoy other people for the sheer delight of being a dick.

As far as having no life.. I have a wife, 2 kids, and a good job that enables me to spend my free time how I like. As far as I can tell, you have a closet full of ugly shoes. No wonder you like spending your time being an asshole on the internet.

Just picked up my 2nd vita. Taking the slim for a test drive since I can just take it back within the week. Sucks that I have to go back to the real world now, and I can't touch it until late tonight.

It is one thing to say you do not care about trophies, but there really is no reason to go after someone else for how they choose to spend their free time. We have a good group in this thread, mainly because everyone seems to get along, even if they have different viewpoints. I think that the thread suffers when stuff like this goes on.

Agreed. For me, cross-buy doesn't always hold a ton of appeal unless there are separate trophy lists. So I'm not interested in paying $5 more to have access to three different versions of The Swapper which I'll definitely only play one time.

Ep. 4, Amid the Ruins 418 mb
Barf.

eBay. Total was $10.04.
Wow, nice job. What an idiot buyer. Was it still new and sealed, at least?

I'm still getting Rogue Legacy day one. I need to Counter Spy a bit more. Its the only other I'd consider doubling up on based on what little I know of the other 3, but I'm pretty sure I won't.

See what I mean?

And closet full of shoes? I think you're confusing me with somebody else because I don't know what that means.

Oh. So people AREN'T getting it for $25. They're getting it for $25 PLUS another $15-$20, which is the current resell value of TLoU PS3.

So they're getting it for $40-$45. Not much of a deal in my book.
Right. Never said I was participating in that lol. It's still pretty even with Best Buy in my book. $39.99, then if you want to trade in PS3 copy, I think currently it sits at $12. But I'd just sell mine, like you said.

Yeah not singling out you. But I figured most the CAGs in this thread were up on how prices should be expressed. TLoU is definitely not $25.

That's like saying you got TLoU for $10 at Best Buy (because you secretly had a $40 cert that you're not bothering to mention). Drives me nuts when people do this.

No. Like new though. It looks like I'm having more luck selling these type games at a lower price for the game while charging for shipping, as opposed to offering free shipping and hiking up the price a bit. I've been experimenting trying to find the best way to do it.

Hoping this Superhero sale gets some Plus pricing thrown in.

EDIT: there we go, some decent sales...including $3.75 for MvC origins (wasnt someone just looking for this?), great pricing on some Vita games... lots of $4.20 prices lol...dammit, gonna have to pick up some PSN cred now

you should try 99 gamers...

I could see it if he came in here bragging about all his trophies all the time and being douchey, but he never talks about it unless someone else brings it up. So I can't see anyone being bothered by the way he plays games. He likes to play games like the rest of us, just in a different manner.

Uh-oh, Injustice for $4.20 on Vita? I might have to sell my physical copy. :whistle2:k

Is Sony trying to tell us something by pricing so many games at $4.20...?

Anyone seeing these deals?? $8 for the PS4 version of Injustice? $10 for Lego Marvel PS4? Now here are a few deals that you digital only people can relish in.

Edit: And I don't know how to play Backgammon but I might pick up the PS4 game for $2.
