I can't believe much I have been slacking on platting games. According to psnprofiles, I have only obtained 3 plats in the past year...

On a brighter note, I obtained the level 40 trophy in Bioshock 2 a few years ago :D/

I know you were joking here, but oddly, the future female director that was in 3 is what ruined that movie for me.
She was in Part 1 too...

I have never watched The Godfather.
I've said this before, but it stay away from movies that are older than me. I have also not seen The Godfather.
Neither have I. :grouphug:
I have also never seen The Godfather.
I want to be different and say I've seen the godfather, but I haven't. :(
Haven't seen Godfather (I think) but have seen Mafia! Same difference right?
What is wrong with all of you?

And Stotch, movies aren't like games, they age way way better. If you actually do like movies, you are doing yourself a great disservice by not checking out a ton of classics from the 60s and 70s, and there are even a few movies older than that that are absolutely worth watching.

Here we go with another list..top 5 movies:
1. Goodfellas
2. Pulp Fiction
3. Scarface
4. Forest Gump
5. Blow

So obviously I love gangster flicks, but I suppose you've got to be in to that sort of thing. Godfather and the sequel are amazing movies and should be seen. They are much slower than what we are used to seeing nowadays so you've got to be ready for it. I'm sure if you guys are used to grinding for hours in games, then you should be able to sit through these movies just find.

Top 5 Movies

1 Star Wars

2 Empire Strikes Back

3 Godfather 1 and 2

4 Any movie by Chris Nolan

5 Any movie by Tarantino

Too many good movies to come up with a top 5 after the two main star wars movies really.

I watch and enjoy older movies from time to time, I just watched Fritz Lang's film M for the first time last week, quite interesting. One director I don't understand that has been practically deified is Martin Scorsese. I've seen Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, Bringing out the Dead, Gangs of New York, The Aviator, Departed, Shutter island, Hugo, and I tried to watch Raging Bull. Some of them are ok (I really don't understand the gushing love for Goodfellas), some of them are pretty good, but none I would call masterpieces.
Scorsese I'm torn on. I absolutely adored The Aviator, both the story telling and the art style and direction. Also Leo. Loved Casino and Goodfellas, but I'm a mafia movie sucker. Oh and Last Temptation of Christ is excellent too, but I mostly loved that for the story which I'm sure he didn't have a lot of influence over.

Then there's the middle tier films. Gangs of New York, Shutter Island, Taxi Driver, Mean Streets. They were all alright but I don't really care to watch them again.

Then his consensus favorite, Raging Bull, I just couldn't stand. It was so slow and boring to me. Wolf of Wall Street also falls into the "Terrible" category for me as it was so over-the-top and told such a shitty story.

And then there's The Departed. Man, what a great movie that could have been if it weren't for the massive plotholes and terrible ending! Why didn't they just end it the same way as Infernal Affairs?

Actually, I'm a movie geek and have watched them all at least 10 times. And most other old movies you can think of.
Movie geek. Cool. We could probably bore the entire thread talking about movies.

I'm just not up on recent movies. But if we go back to the 60s 70s 80s 90s and early 2000s I should be able to keep up.

Wolf of wall street was my favorite movie from this past year. LOVE it. Its freaking awesome.

Love the departed too, just overlook its flaws I guess.

I like all those except Blow. Scarface isn't anywhere near the top of my list, but it's definitely enjoyable.

I couldn't get into Insomnia by Nolan, and Inception wasn't my absolute favorite either.

Tarantino I'm not all that into. Inglorious Basterds, Pulp Fiction, and Reservoir Dogs are the only movies of his I'd ever care to watch more than once. And Jesus Christ Death Proof was awful.

I like a lot of Scorses films, but they tend to drag on too long.  I wish he knew when to end shit or not draw out some filler scenes.

Also, I cannot watch black and white films, even the ones that are considered classics.  I just cant do it.

I need a site like TT to give me my top five films as there are too many I will forget.

Its LONG but worth it. Its really depraved and messed up in parts, and lots of nudity is foul language, but thats what makes it good.
And to me this all felt so forced, like Scorsese just said "let's see how much more fucked up we can make this" without it actually needing to be in that movie.

and that long dragged out quaalude scene was a struggle for me to sit through without walking out

My cousin who I went to see it with though said he really liked it. So maybe I'm just wrong (I'm not wrong).

Oh, but Pulp Fiction, Forrest Gump, and Shawshank Redemption are certainly in the top somewhere.  Oh and the original SW trilogy and Indiana Jones trilogy.  And the first Hangover...I gotta stop.

I haven't seen wolf of wall street yet even though I am a Scorsese and Leo fan. I'm pretty big on Tarantino as well. Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill, and Django were all good in my book.

Forrest Gump is so overrated. Check out Polygon's review about it.

Huh? its all part of the story bro, its based off a book, guy who wrote it was really like all of the movie and did most of the stuff in the movie.

Donnie Brasco >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Blow

Wolf was good, but way too long... I get they were trying to show what a crazy life he was living but they could have taken out 3 or 4 of the scenes about his lavish life and still made the point.  Great movie, dragged on more than it needed.

I would not call Sophia Coppola ugly at all.  Her main issue is that she apparently does not give a fuck about her appearance and ends up getting photographed when she looks like she is in the middle of a walk of shame.  I think she is attractive in the picture posted personally.  She can even look much better than that as well when she is actually made up a bit.

I agree the other pic, she wasnt that bad. But my god, this pic makes her look like a different woman. Shows what a little paint and touch up will do.

could put an eye out with that thing.[/quote]

So smash or pass?

I've only seen parts of Godfather and had no interest in seeing any more. I also think Star Wars is overrated. Its worth a watch, but terribly overrated.

Definitely a sober smash. If he says no I have to question whether or not he's actually attracted to women.
