A couple sites out there are reporting that Sony actually turned down EA's Access program.

We evaluated the EA Access subscription offering and decided that it does not bring the kind of value PlayStation customers have come to expect," a Sony representative said to Game Informer. "PlayStation Plus memberships are up more than 200% since the launch of PlayStation 4, which shows that gamers are looking for memberships that offer a multitude of services, across various devices, for one low price. We don't think asking our fans to pay an additional $5 a month for this EA-specific program represents good value to the PlayStation gamer.

I was confused about the reference to 1 at first since that's not in the HD collection. You meant the PS1 version, I guess?

Did you do a comparison yourself how the game's 60 FPS compare to the 30 FPS in multiplayer? I heard reports its better, but with the typical ND slowness.

Also Topside, doing good is a measure of controlling the drops on the map, which reward you with parts and supplies. These help you craft important items, like the molotov. Play it slow, and if you have the three short burst rifle, should be fine. There's the bow too, which I must say, once I unlocked that bad boy, I was murking left and right. Game is slow paced, relies on teamwork and comunication. Also, tag enemies by pressing the analog (forgot which). Hope this helps.

I really wish Sony would stop trying to spin the increase in PS Plus subs as an indicator of value on PS4. If you require a sub to play MP games, of course subs are going to increase.

Guys, I'm going to start selling peanuts, but in order to eat them you have to buy a spoon.

Good news, spoon sales are going through the roof because they're such a great value!

Yeah, I guess I should have been more clear. I grabbed the HD collection before the Legacy collection came out, so I grabbed MGS 1 from the PSN Store since I wanted to start at the beginning (of the Solid series that is, not all the way back to the beginning of Metal Gear). It still holds up really well to this day.

I guess you mean from a gameplay perspective. I can't imagine playing a game this ugly even with 1080p rendering. It's even worse without that from the gameplay videos I found. Maybe on my Vita it'd be small enough to not look horrendous.

Hopefully this will be the last status update before I put this to bed finally.

I downloaded Last Of Us Remastered last night, I noticed it was only 11GB? Didn't the box say something like 50GB? I didn't get to play any yet, but I'm so tempted.

I played some more Trine 2 while it was downloading. I think that's basically the basis of how I'll end up finishing the game, while better stuff is downloading. Got to get back to MGS4 as well.

I mean if it weren't such a serious game I could play it, but with the dialogue and story, but also looking like a Minecraft drama, I'd spend the whole time laughing at how ugly it is.

If you can't get past the graphics I wouldn't bother, but it seriously doesn't detract from the gameplay at all. Top notch voice acting for it's time as well.

I'd suggest giving it a shot.

I watched it for the first time a few days before the TV series started in case there were any connections / references (there were a few) and I thought it was OK, I'm not sure where all the high praise of "American Masterpiece" comes from. I thought the TV series was a lot better (though it did stumble a little in the last few episodes)..

I'd also like to know if there's any point in holding onto your parts instead of spending them in match.... do they add more credit at the end of the match if you don't spend them? Having a lot of fun with it though and I think it will hold my interest for the most part until Destiny.

And I need to make sure you understand the longer you keep this "no mic" business up the closer you get to being thrown in the rpg/snakey category.

- wireless
- not cumbersome (i.e. light on the noggin)
- works with ps3 and ps4

I don't know if you like indies, but if you do, take a deep breath and plunge into that wonderful madness thinking it is one. Had I not played the MGS demo on PS1, I would be a Breakfuss today.

I'm not an idiot who locks their PS3 in a cabinet and leaves it on for six months and wonders why it overheats. I have it out in the open, properly ventilated and the AC keeping it a cool 67 in the room it's in. It's been on since Friday without stopping and it's not even blowing out warm air.
 
Oh and Nintendo posted a $97 million loss, even with the sales of Mario Kart 8. Some sites are saying that it looks like the total number of MK8 copies is right in line with the number of Wii U's sold, so it's appearing that MK8 wasn't the system seller Nintendo was hoping for.

But yeah, they're still doing fucking awesome.

How often do you eat eggs with a ton of country crock in them with pudding for dessert? Other than some leftover spaghetti, that is the only food I see in there. Also, I hope that is ranch dressing and not mayonnaise.

Rogue Legacy is great and a great Vita game except for the text. Insanely small on the decedent trait cards. They should have had a zoomed in view and let you scroll it with the right stick. Or something.

"That was a remake made by Silicone Knights. We supervised it but we didn’t create it directly and we wanted to make sure that everything in the HD Collection was canon. Everything that goes into there is something created directly by Kojima Productions and Kojima himself. So that is the reason why Twin Snakes was not included in HD Collection."

^ That seems to be the official answer, but there were Mario and Yoshi statues in the game if what I read is correct. Probably more to do with stuff like that than anything else.

Kojima is finnicky sometimes. He owns the property, so there should be something in there about it reverting to Konami/him. Silicon Knights doesn't even exist anymore. And it looks like a very restrictive deal, since he didn't use the Twin Snakes assets for the flashbacks in MGS4.
 
I'm glad Nintendo is finally feeling the burn a little bit. Not because of any one thing really but because they have really just ignored every single complaint that their fans have of them. If anything I hope these loses help motivate them to listen for a change. It worked for Sony.

 
I knew I wouldn't have to pay for Fez! HAHA. Sweet on Dragon's Crown! Don't have any of these so I'm cool with the list, although PS3 kind of sucks. Oh and Metrico + Road Not Taken looks cool too.

That said, did you see the photo depicting the insane money Nintendo made with the DS and Wii? They basically are on par with all their other generations combined. Holy shit.

Pretty great month imo. Not everyone's cup of tea but I loved Proteus and Fez. Never played Crysis 3. Really wanted Road Not Taken and Metrico. And I have been holding off on Dragon's Crown for just this reason
