glad to finally see dragon's crown hit ps+. all you cheapasses can finally bask in its glory and then promptly return to this thread to complain about how it's not your 'cup of tea'.

I don't know shit about any of the other games, so off to youtube I go!

The thing I always fuck up is the quickfire explosive gel in Arkham City.

That wasn't added till Infamous 2, it only shows you its location on the mini-map if you are in close enough proximity that it can show up on the mini map when you ping. If you are more than a half a block away or so, then nothing shows up. That's why you pretty much have to go to every location on a shard map and ping in order to find the one you are missing if it isn't one of the common missed shards.

I already got DC for PS+ from EU. It's like if you took Muramasa Rebirth and made it much more shitty to play. I gave it a few hours and then just deleted it.

also glad I didnt bite on proteus when they were hyping it up with all the sit down button talk in the old psn thread.

fuck yes to the free Plus games for August.

Fez is the only game I already own, and I got it for free anyway. And it's fucking amazing.

Waited out Proteus & Dragons Crown sales for the inevitable Plus offering.

Wanted to try Metrico so I'm happy it's day one free.

In summary: titsapoppin.
 
PS+ list looks good to me. Only one I have is Proteus, which I thought was a terrible "game." It is like a pixelated version of flower with no goal other than to float around and pass through the four seasons. Never played any of the Crisis games. I wanted to try fez and dragons crown.

Yea the trophy guide has the game at a 5, and says the MP just take some time, roughly 20 hours and you can have them all... boosting and i am sure that number goes down... love good trophy games for Plus and it looks like all the indies have easy 100% :)

I liked some aspects of DC better than MR, but the two things that absolutely killed DC for me were that there's vertical movement space and that all the characters/enemies get clumped up in the same spot. By vertical space I mean that instead of moving left-right, you also have an up-down movement. This would be fine, except that like all side-scrollers that have vertical space the characters are still pretty much 2d--they don't have any real vertical space themselves, so you can have a character swinging at a monster and it'll look like the hits should connect but they don't because they're slightly off vertically, with one being higher/lower than the other.

In real life, it'd be like if you got in a fight with somebody, you were facing opposite directions to fight each other, but your opponent instead of being three feet in front of you was three feet in front of you and four to the left; any attacks you make will miss unless you rotate left to compensate, but in the game you can't do that. You have to step four feet left, but in a 2d game where you're showing the sides of the characters it's really not possible to show this misalignment well. In DC it's especially bad since the characters are so massive on a height/width scale, but their depth is super small in comparison.

Hopefully that makes sense.

The other issue I mentioned above is that you can have characters right on top of each other due to the vertical space issue. That's just very visually annoying. I like sidescrollers but trying to give a vertical movement causes all kinds of problems in them.

day1 ps+ games are also the shit. it's just awesome. cuz then no one has a chance to complain they bought it and everyone wins.

also don't listen to thermo pile ( :)) about dragon's crown. the hit detection is a lil off, but it is super fun. We can even team up if anyone wants to co op sometime. You need to beat it with every character and 3 difficulties I believe but they even made those trophies easier.

the vertical space issue is spot on. it's like double dragon where you are swinging at paper mario characters and hitting infront/behind them at air. but its all good and gets better when you know how to play. The enemies usually line right up with you horizontally anyway. and they tried to help with the character mobs by adding colored triangles at the top of the screen in case you have duplicates of the same character and can't find yourself in the madness, but I turned those off as they were visual clutter mess themselves. Really great game tho, sidescroller and rpg elements and food and BOSS SPOILER

and tits a poppin. and for free wtf awesome. ill be glad to play it on my vita.

Arg, this is probably the 5th or 6th game they've released for free on vita (don't have one) that also has a PS3 incarnation that I've wanted to play that isn't crossbuy.

So I ended up with Fez without paying Fish any money directly and Proteus which I've heard is pretty lame as I already own Crysis 3 digitally.

 
Looks like I need to pull a Backlog (-ish) and sell off my copies of Crysis 3 and Dragon's Crown.

I say "-ish" because obviously I'm not really clearing out my backlog. :roll:

 
yeah i got crysis 3 digital also. never touched it. I guess it was $5 or $10 on some sale and I traded in my cheap retail copy for more and thought I was awesome. lol oh wells. at least it isn't one of those months where you own everything and its like opening an empty box on your birthday.

Out of curiosity, for Rogue Legacy players: What's your playtime so far (you can check by looking at your profiles on the title screen)? Apparently I'm already up to 5.5 hours (and I still haven't gotten the 20-death trophy :shock:).

August PS+ looks good! Will try most of the stuff except for Crysis 3, probably. Not sure I want to even bother to download that. Fez we have on 360, but I guess I'll take it on PS4 too. The other stuff is good. I was wanting to try Proteus, but afraid to pay for it. It's cross-buy so we will get it on Vita too.

Does the digital version of Crysis 3 come with the Hunter Edition extras? I think I still have that code with my copy from Gamefly, but if the digital version doesn't have that content, I'll redeem the code before selling the game.

If they sold as many copies of MK8 as they have sold Wii U's, how does that indicate that it wasn't a system seller? I'm confused. If they sold more copies of MK8 then they have sold Wii U's, that would be bizarre.

We should take bets now on if Zelda Wii U will have text bubbles or not. I'm thinking it will which is depressing or are they trying to teach kids to read? If that's the case I'll cut them a little slack.

Total MK8 sales, all time are about equal to total Wii U sales all time. That means that since the Wii U has been out, it's sold 3 million unit (just making up numbers, Breakfuss, don't flip out) and MK8 has sold 3 million units. If Wii U sales went way up, that would be indicative of people buying a Wii U for MK8. But since it mostly stayed the same, it's a sign that most of the MK8 sales were from people who already had a Wii U.

I don't mind text bubbles in games. Typically I can read dialogue a lot faster than it can be spoken badly by bad actors. And you know if they use voice acting there's going to be outrage over whatever they sound like, because it's not going to be the same as the voice they imagined.
