Most I've gotten in one run has been 34k. I can routinely get 20k, no problem. But you need to find that dude that gives you 3 chests to pick from, and make money from him to bank a lot. If you have that compass thing, it tells you which chest to pick. Edit: I haven't gotten the compass thing yet, so no idea if that's true. But I've been lucky a few times picking the right one.

Just 3 weeks of summer left! (Thank god)

Then the kids will be back to school, and hopefully I can stay up late enough to play :ps3: again. (Assuming I can get them to go to sleep at a decent time)

Although I am having fun with the Vita lately......

Simple: Get as much gold as you can without dying. :dunce:

Seriously, though, if you try for the Gold % upgrade in the manor, eventually you'll average 10-20k per run. I usually avoided the elf guy with the 3 chests since I only won that once out of 6 or 7 tries and never had the compass when I found him. Also, make sure you have at least one air-jump and one dash rune equipped to help with avoiding enemy attacks and reach some chests that may require acrobatics to reach.

I really like rogue legacy but I keep getting stomped by the last boss and I'm really not looking forward to just grinding a bunch to buy upgrades.

If you have them, you can equip runes to take his level waaay down and beat him more easily. I didn't need this method exactly, I just had to change my runes to something else as I had 3 of them equipped that upped his level that I had forgotten about.

 
I keep running into those screens where the condition to open a chest is to defeat all enemies, but the enemies are in another section of the screen with no passable walls to get at them.  :wall:

Those runes (Grace) help with the Thanatophobia trophy, FYI. However, it's a total luck-of-the-draw whether you'll get any when you're limited to 15 "lives". I found one after beating the first two bosses and only found a second after beating the next two bosses. I used both when fighting the final boss.

Yep, wrong character traits. Ironically, I've never ran into those rooms when I have those guys who go all mist form or transfer places.

 
god all this talk is really making me want to get rogue legacy....  but 17 may be out of my cheapassness

You need a specific spell for those rooms; if you don't have it, leave the room and move on. It's not that big a deal if you can't open that chest, as you'll find others.

Damn, I've never really though about it...but do those work on the remix bosses too? ie, equip all 5 and bring his level down to "little bitch"?

Haven't started yet, but plan on it. Tonight is AO boosting, tomorrow I'm probably playing this Ugly Americans game with rpg. So it will have to wait til after that. I played one run through, the enemies don't scare me, but it seems all the rooms are infinitely harder, with tons of spikes, fireballs, etc. in every room I visited.

 
I like Rogue Legacy a lot, but I have to agree with Snakey that it is a grind. It's not like you can fire up the game new and beat it without dying. It's impossible. At least I think it would be. You have to grind to get upgrades and equipment to kill the bosses. Which is not necessarily a bad thing, but it is a grind by design.

It's incredibly difficult, to be sure, but it is possible, since some people have done Level 0 runs.

As I posted awhile back, the bosses are harder, too. You remember the infinite spawns for the Forest boss? They're the upgraded kind now (shoot 3 larger white spheres instead of 1 smaller one). The other bosses just do more damage to you when you touch them.

IMO, they're still not as difficult as the Remix bosses.

Are the remix bosses the same in NG+ or are they harder?  As in should I beat them before I get to NG+?  Because I am finding it basically impossible as is.

 
I watched a video online on this boss, and found out that he apparently has other attacks. I've fought him about 20 times now, and the only thing he does is the spin attack where I have to go over his head.

I didn't try fighting the Remix bosses in NG+, but since you play as pre-set characters, I don't think they're any harder (if you ask me, they're already hard enough). That also means they won't be any easier in NG+.

The Castle boss? I never saw him just do one type of attack the entire time.
