Are you sure you're logging out? You can have everyone logged in at once on PS4 and have to actually log out each user.
Even if you log the user out (choose the log out option), it still keeps the game running for no reason. It's dumb. No, pharmadude, it is not a hard thing to do, but that doesn't make it not dumb.

Basic is an understatement, but yeah, same game. I guess it will be marginally better once I get to the T-rex's and stuff that can kill me?
I think you had to shoot the T-Rex directly in the eyeball to kill him in the old one, so there's that. Unless they changed it.

Some other dude grabs it and points it at my wife's head and starts laughing. Literally everyone there was ready to beat the shit out of the dude and he had no idea why because "The gun doesn't even work!" Some people don't understand guns at all and that's what makes them dangerous. It's when idiots get their hands on guns that makes them incredibly dangerous and people start to die.
I am going to guess there was alcohol at this party? No way would I mix guns and alcohol. I grew up with them but don't have anything currently. I am not afraid of them but do respect them. I think I would have beat his ass outside personally if he did that to my wife.

So glad I looked at the deals page today and can bring back good news to you guys...Defiance is free on the store right now, hurry before it gets sold out!!

It grinds my gears a little that starting Aug 18th, BBC America is replaying the entire new Doctor Who + Specials leading up to the premiere on August 23rd with the new doctor, EXCEPT they are skipping over the first season with Christopher Eccleston. No respect.

Yeah, that's just crap IMO. And really how can you even show the Rose/Tennant stuff without showing her intro? :wall:

your silence must mean that you all wanted to see a cartoon octopus colored in with crayons by a three year old

and as an extra special treat...

demon spider outside my building right now!

That really blows. I just made it to season 2. I really liked Eccleston.

That's a surprisingly good job on that by a 3-year old. Thumbs up.

I loved Lost until they fucked up the ending. I have been watching the Leftovers, although I think I am an episode or 2 behind at the moment.
What do you think? I liked Lost and have been watching The Leftovers... it's interesting. Definitely well shot and acted, but they really need to give the viewers something... anything. I knew going in that this was not going to be a show where you get answers to a lot of questions, but almost through the first season I know so little about the character's motivations/histories, it's hard to feel connected to it.

I feel pretty much the exact same way as you. I think that is the main reason I am not watching it as soon as it comes on. Each week lately has been this dive into a given character and it seems like you still really do not know a whole lot more about them than you did at the beginning.

Penny Dreadful was kind of the similar for me on Showtime. I am glad I stuck it out because it finally gave you more to get interested in at about episode 5. Now I like the show quite a bit and I am looking forward to the next season. I hope Leftovers eventually hooks me like that, but I dont understand why it is taking so damn long.

I was like cool. A free game. Then I see it is Free to Play. Nevermind.

Seems like bait and switch to me.
It's pretty fun actually, I played it on the PC (and don't even watch the TV show), even the "demo" before it went free to play (limited to lvl 500) was pretty robust. It's basically borderlands in 3rd person with more of an emphasis on powers. Looks like F2P people get 2 character slots (not that important due to how the leveling system works) and 2 loadouts (it's basically like having 2 characters in one, you can set which primary skill, perks, and weapons to equip, then easily toggle between them on the fly while playing). The style of play was quite similar to the Destiny beta, but not nearly as barebones story telling wise.

Also

It doesn't take place in the show's area, it takes place on the west coast around a destroyed San Francisco. There are a few story missions featuring characters from the show, but mostly its just set in the same universe. Gunplay is pretty similar to borderlands except in a 3rd person perspective and more of a focus on perks and powers. I just owned the base game on PC (none of the DLC), and played it for about 100 hours before I lost interest. You can play a lot of the DLC missions/raids without owning the DLC, though half the time they give weapons as rewards that require DLC to equip.

Enemies match their HP and difficulty based on the level of you and the other player's in their immediately vicinity. So there is no wandering into a new area and getting slaughtered by impossible enemies, you pretty much have your run of the whole map from the start, though some areas feature enemy types that are still fairly difficult.

The perk system is there is a grid of squares divided into 4 quadrants. In the center of a quadrant is one of 4 primary skills. Overcharge which boosts damage temporarily, Cloak, which gives you the ability to go invisible temporarily. Blur which gives you a short term boost of speed, and decoy which lets you create a hologram to distract enemies. Once you pick a primary skill on the next level up you can either level up the primary skill further or choose to unlock any other perk that is touching an already unlocked perk. Perks in that skill's quadrant usually buff the primary skill in some way.

You can only have so many perks equipped at a time (get more perk slots as you level) as well as create different loadouts with different weapons and perk permutations that you can switch to on the fly. If you level up far enough you can inch your way over to another quadrant and unlock another primary skill (though only one can be active at a time). So at one moment you could be a stealthy rogue cloaking to get a sniper shot to the back for extra damage, and with a click in the menu, now be rushing in with blur to shotgun and melee the enemy to death. You can also respec at the cost of in-game currency, though it gets more expensive the higher you level up.

Same thing I use. Once you get used to no script, it works wonders.

I know one dude who lives in STL. He was a former college roommate, used to tell me how great STL was. Then after school he went back there. Last night he did exactly what Velo was saying: Put on FB that he's going to get a gun, some ammo, and some whiskey and just let everything play out.
Guns + alcohol, sounds like a great idea....I'd be more afraid of that than someone coming into my home to steal shit. If armageddon ever comes, I'm fuck ed for sure.

<snip>

im just gonna stay inside a few more days playing video games and making porn, haha. it's a rough life.
See if everyone had this mindset, the world would be a much better place. Hippies should run the world.

Obligatory quote to save this stuff for future readers.
Well done! Was a good read, would've missed it otherwise.
