If I was a reviewer and a game had Skippable cinematics, it would automatically be 7-10 points higher because of that.
I think it makes sense with cutscenes. Plus, they're often used to mask loading. What I can't understand are unskippable credits. fuck Ubisoft and any other company that pulls that shit.

Oh and I'm liking Sacred 3 more tha Risen 3. Both games hurt my eyes though, fuk.

I mean is there a reason to keep a PS3 now? I just might get Blands Da Pre-Sequel on pc and just skip AC Rogue.

True, but even the ones that are used for loading are sometimes skippable. There are certain games that are skippable only the 2nd time through, which drives me insane. If I want to make the choice to skip the story, the game should allow that to happen. Right now I am playing Sleeping Dogs ( and enjoying it quite a bit,) but I am also watching Netflix.

PS+ Backlog maybe? Future PS+ titles that aren't PS4 and Vita. Dude you must have a shit load of PS3 games.

I have played every single PS3 game worth playing except for those crappy jrpg animu games. My only disc game for PS3 i have is EA MMA, hahahahaaaaaaaaaaa.

I am really enjoying Sleeping Dogs like I have said numerous times, but the karma for property damage and such is annoying. The same thing annoyed me in Watch Dogs. While I enjoy the concept, I am not enjoying the execution.

Man, going back to the PS3 is like being punished. I don't know if im gonna keep it for that long now
Is this about Risen again? I'm a PC gamer so PS3 graphics generally aren't near as nice. You get used to it for the most part. Though yeah screen tearing is a huge issue compared to things as simple as poor texture quality or jaggies. Screen tearing is rough.

Far Cry 3:

A heads up for anyone that is playing/will be playing it: There appears to be a problem where the game gets stuck in an auto-save loop. From what I read, it could corrupt your save if you quit while this problem is happening, and of course it won't let you manually save, which is how you'll know it's happening. Happened to me last night; I just killed myself, and upon restarting it allowed me to save.

Also, for the free fall trophy. Not that it's hard, but just happened upon a quicker way than looking for the particular spot the guide shows. You'll come to a main mission where you're required to jump out of a plane. When this happens, don't do anything, just fall. The trophy should pop and you'll restart right at the point where you had to jump out.

You have my sympathies. :-({|=

There's a joke here involving dogs and karma, but I can't think of it. :whistle2:k

You can call me Sir.

Being a PC gamer is way way way cheaper, but hey, exclusives.
Doesn't the cost of a good rig/keeping it up to date pretty much outweigh any savings you get on games? Maybe it is a little cheaper in the long run, but I don't see how it could be way cheaper.

No, not at all. I only upgrade my PC every three years or so, and that's not even for gaming specifically. There are so many games available on PC and the only ones that require high-end hardware are a very few brand new games and only on the highest settings. The vast majority of games are not aimed at high-end PCs simply because that limits the audience too much and kills sales.

Most of the ~400-500 games I have on PC cost < $5, and that's before you even consider bundles which bring the cost down much further still. I built my PC for ~$800 about a year ago and it was a complete rebuild (only reused one hard drive.) A lot of that cost came from stuff not intended for gaming at all, like a 250GB SSD, 16GB ram, i5 overclockable CPU, etc. The video card cost me $150 and has easily handled everything I've thrown at it. Granted I haven't played Crysis yet but the only game I haven't been able to play at highest settings was Tomb Raider, and that was the TressFx feature specifically. If you're not familiar with it, TressFx makes it so Lara's hair is rendered as individual strands rather than the normal solid mass games have; you'll see strands blowing in the wind, etc., and it's a huge performance hog.

TressFx, btw:

And Pyle. You did a lot of work to play PC games. I just take my console out of a box hook up some cables and let the system download patches. Then I play. PC gaming is way way way too much work

I'm glad that people still love their pcs, but I don't miss having one. I keep a little ultrabook around for when I need to do work from home, but it mostly stays on a shelf sleeping.

I'm fine with paying a relative premium on console games that can't handle tressfx or whatever just to keep it that way.

edit - I always want folks that kept track of their full pc parts list to post the parts and total costs. Partially because I'm just curious and partially because I used to build a lot of hobby pcs and it never cost as little as what I told people. I see people make these claims of 'I built a PC that can run all games at the highest settings for $250' and I'm all like 'bullshit!' but I don't care enough to throw an internet hissyfit about it.

If I had more time/money I would probably consider PC gaming. It would be pretty sweet to have those mods in Skyrim and such. But like Pharm said, I like being able to just plug and play. Fits my lifestyle much better.

...how do you figure? The only thing I added to the PC that was for gaming was the video card. Everything else was for general PC usage.

Tyler....  With Vig being hooked on Just Cause 2 now, you might want to use the time to put some more space between you and him on the leaderboards.  I know you have been lamenting him being in your rear view mirror lately.  I have little doubt he will get the plat for ~2400 points, but it will likely take him close to 2 weeks to get it.

Whoever PippInMR2 is and Pete could close the gap on him as well.

"PCs are for spreadsheets", a wise man once said. But, seriously, I have a hard time disassociating them from work. Might have something to do with using a keyboard and mouse (ewww). When I game I want to do just that. Not be reminded of e-mails I haven't replied to. Can't dispute their cost effectiveness, though. They make out like bandits in the long run.

I use my PC constantly. I generally have 80-100 Chrome tabs open, encode music and movies with it, watch/read porn, manage all my media stuff, download books, read manga and fanfiction, do programming, etc.. If I'd built my PC specifically for gaming it would have cost quite a bit less than it did.

Also not sure how you got that I bought my PC--I built it (I've built every PC I've owned for ~15 years) it's just that I built it for general usage with the only gaming-oriented component being the video card. Well, that and a XB1 controller. I had a Logitech F310 but the buttons were sticking.

According to Lucas Pope on twitter, Papers, Please is coming to Vita, not PS4. He said it was a miscommunication with Sony. Probably a better fit for vita anyways

I said I buy my PC off the rack.

Hmmm...that's interesting. There was a concern that the dialog and stuff would be too small for the Vita. Oh well, as long as we're getting it on at least one console that's fine with me.
