Oh, I figured as much, but it must have been awhile ago because I don't remember when I told you.

Tyler's got you using his button lingo, too?
it was in the bestbuy trade in thread i think, you miscalculated the total amount of a game, when someone asked what the total would be for a certain game after 50% trade in promotion + 10% for gcu

I take a shit nearly every day and occasionaly twice in a day. And I eat a ton of bad things etc. You should not be shitting more than that every day. Something is wrong with frisky. #confirmed

Oh and the only debt I have is the mortgage because I'm awesome. Wife has like $9000 in student loans, but those are paid for by the state so I don't count it.
Come on, man, Tyler brought up credit card debt, not all debt. I don't want to talk about student loans (which can go die a grisly death).

It depends on the person and diet. 3x isn't abnormal. You start throwing flax seed smoothies and shit like that into the equation and things can get interesting. :) Ctrl, you mentioned being a Mexican woman so it could be all the rice and beans doing you in.

Doesn't the cost of a good rig/keeping it up to date pretty much outweigh any savings you get on games? Maybe it is a little cheaper in the long run, but I don't see how it could be way cheaper.
People always seem to forget that you're going to be spending $300+ on a PC just for every day use to begin with, so when you add $300 or so more to that that you might spend on a console you already have a pretty decent PC going. Then you only need to spend $100-$200 every few years to upgrade if you want to be on the cutting edge and max games out, though you can coast on most builds for a good while before you have to drop anymore money into it. I don't have to tell you how much cheaper games are.

"PCs are for spreadsheets", a wise man once said. But, seriously, I have a hard time disassociating them from work. Might have something to do with using a keyboard and mouse (ewww). When I game I want to do just that. Not be reminded of e-mails I haven't replied to. Can't dispute their cost effectiveness, though. They make out like bandits in the long run.
You do realize the majority of PC games support controllers now right? Plug your DS4 in, hook your PC up to your TV and run Steam Big Picture mode and it's almost a console experience.

According to Lucas Pope on twitter, Papers, Please is coming to Vita, not PS4. He said it was a miscommunication with Sony. Probably a better fit for vita anyways
That's probably for the best, I can't see it working well on PS4 with how it controls on PC, but with Vita you can emulate a mouse just as well with the touch screen (actually it might be better).

I have around a $900 balance combined on 2 cards, one with a $1,000 limit and another with a $6,000 limit. I'm uncomfortable with that amount, and can't imagine having cc debt in the thousands. The $6,000 card is a Lowe's card that I wouldn't even have if we didn't have to suddenly buy a fridge.
did I miss a fridge story? please go on!

I had no debt before I got injured. Wife got hurt in the same accident. She missed 3 months of work, I missed six, ended up losing the job, spent another 4 months trying to find a job, and now I'm still not even working full time. Credit cards were my saving grace. Slowly whittling down 4k debt.

Oh, and I shit once a day.

Hold. The. Phone. Did you just say "buy a fridge"? Everyone shut the hell up. Backlog has an important story to tell us.

Edit: Damn it, I make a joke almost 2 hours late and someone ninjas me by 4 fuck ing minutes

Vita. Box, box, away, forward+pyramid. Nothing. Over and over again. Just punches twice and throws the batarang.
injustice seems to have the less execution heavy queued up combo timing like mvc. hit box twice very quickly, wait a fraction of a second and then do the away forward pyramid while he's still punching. maybe that'll help, I dunno - I suck with stuff like sf4/sfxt/kof timing so this feels much more natural to me.

This is the first fighter I've really played since Samurai Showdown on SNES, so... :)

not sure why this came up, but I have like $12k in debt due to a foundation repair that needed to be done when we were getting our house ready to sell. prior to that we were doing pretty good.

ah, that's cool. fighters have gotten weird since then anyways. think of combos in games like injustice like they're 'canned' - it's not a rhythm game, it's more like entering the inputs (about) as fast as you can and waiting for the animation to play/catch up. it's not until you get in to longer strings that you have to care about timing, and that's usually just to catch a bounce or something at the right height.

I tried PC gaming, I built a very capable AMD rig for around $400-$450 when I did it. PC gaming has come a long way and controller support is now very good. I had a wireless 360 controller hooked up with their usb receiver which worked well.

Even with all that said I still just prefer consoles. Windows is bloated and kind of annoying for gaming. I'm interested to see where the STEAM OS goes but I feel like it will be quite some time before it's 100% viable for all games. If I had to choose though I would prefer a Linux desktop to a Windows one currently. I for some reason also started to hate looking at a PC tower all the time, because in general they are all ugly. Yes, even the plain black one I built. I like that companies are trying with things like the little Brix boxes but from what I've read they get really hot. The alienware alpha might have the right idea at least in form factor...that can house a decent graphics card and be somewhat compact and not overheat. The problem with a system like that is your limiting your upgrades right off the bat. Not too mention you are starting at $550 with only an i3 processor. I'd take a PS4 over that. I can build my own but case options still suck in my opinion for something living room worthy. It's getting better but not fast enough for me.

It's getting there but as it stands now I'm a console gamer.

I shit once a day.

TLDR

Debt is dumb, I don't have any of that junk.

And in response to all the talk about people at work being idiots with BCCs and Reply Alls: They do company nights to Orioles games here every once in a while and one time someone had gotten a pair of tickets to the game, but then something came up so they did a reply all asking if anyone wanted to buy their tickets.  That day then turned into a total shitshow of everyone just trying to scalp tickets with reply alls.  Just to random games too.  Including my boss's boss.

SL alone is around 30, almost 100k with my wife because she is getting her masters... then a bit of credit card debt, one card is just some medical bills.  Got an x-ray in the emergency room and the trip ended up costing almost $3000 because as the hospital stated, if an xray is needed it is a level 5 trauma.... Then other stuff from my wife and I trying to get her through school full time on my salary alone..

stupid plumbline quoted us 15K to have the sewer line replaced, said there was a tiny bit of water which would lead to flooding within days... going on a year and nothing. No way was I going to do that!

Also as far as me and my wifes debt is concerned, we have a plan of action, as soon as she graduates and gets a job, we were going to use 75% or her income and just start paying off debts.  On top of that we have been in our house for a little over a year and had it appraised, already sitting on roughly 30K in equity on it that will help out in 5 or 6 years when we go to sell.  Shouldn't take more than a year to get back down on CC debt once she get's a job out of school... the cost of sending people to school in our country is great!  :whistle2:?

fuckin' A. Gotta make a 3.5 hour drive to sign the lease to my new place. Was hoping they'd email me it like my last landlord.

Also, how the fuck do you trade 19 copies of madden?

Been slowly paying off students loans and have them down to under $900. There was never much incentive to pay them off quick as the type of loan the interest % is barely over 1% and I get a credit to pay for that small amount of interest on my taxes each year. I pay off my full CC balance monthly. The automobile I purchased used has been paid off for years.
