PSN Off-Topic - Happy Thanksgiving Chumps and Chumpettes!

My favorite part of last night is when some dude on my friends list that I think I added for PS3 boosting of PSASBR a year or so ago invited me to join a party chat every five minutes with no explanation for why.

No worries. I took care of the concept art I need for the 100% completion trophy last night, along with a couple other ones you can do solo in the MP. Talk of the corrupt save file bug makes me nervous, so I'm trying to follow the anti-corruption guides closely.

I read you can just surrender to get the ranked wins last night as well, so that should cut down time for that significantly. Might not have time until next week to do that though as I have to pack and clean and actually get a decent sleep before I go back to the motherland tomorrow.
cool, that'll give me some time to play and get reacquainted. look me up next week and hopefully we can find some time.

Thread needs more delicious bait. Polygon article discussing backlogs. Here are highlights:

We respect people with large libraries of books, but we tend to look down on people with shelves and shelves of games.
Buying games on sale can feel like sending a message in a bottle to possible future versions of yourself, but finding and opening those bottles, and having them enrich your life, is like nothing else. It's an investment in our own future, and it helps support the industry today.
We may not get to these games for a long time. If the data is correct, nearly half of the games we buy may not be played in the next year.

The answer is simple: Stop caring about when you'll play a game.
The only thing worse than paying less for a game on sale is to not pay anything, and even if you don't play the games you buy you can comfort yourself by saying you're helping to fund the creation of that company's next venture. Steam sales lead to revenue, and that revenue is often substantial.

The hit and attack boxes were off, and it had the "classic" style where you get 3 tries to beat the map + boss before having to restart the entire level. There were quite a few times where I'd die to the boss then have to re-run the half hour map to get to it again. I'm not a fan of that mechanic.
They patched that. And if you suck you can always play on easy, half damage, unlimited lives, and they give you the full map upfront.

only two more down trophies left, warf and water tower, but in the numerous games I have played I have played none on any of those! :(

Still loving TLOU MP, in the middle of week 5 not with 70 survivors and averaging now 3000-4000 parts each round... just love this game!!!

Who is the one idiot that looks at the deals page all the time, at least once an hour? Oh...

Who is joining our giant TLoU party tomorrow and Saturday?

Me
Matt
Munky
Velo
Cro?
Tyler?

If we can get 8, we might be able to search at the same time and get paired up in teams of four.

For anyone that cares, I went to Qdoba after all the burrito talk yesterday. But I won't make 100 posts about it. Maybe only like 12.

Oh good. He's doing it again right now too.

My wife made homemade chicken enchiladas last night. So good.
Hopefully my dinner story last night is at least slightly more interesting that a Tyler fridge story.

Our garbage disposal died and I know enough to avoid plumbing DIY projects. A guy that used to live in our neighborhood has done some plumbing work for us in the past and my wife called him. What I didn't know is that his main job is now running a BBQ food truck. He showed up at my house in the truck. Oddly, right before he got there my wife had gone to Shane's Rib Shack to get us BBQ for dinner. Turns out, I now have that for leftovers today and ate stuff he had left from his day of cooking instead. The brisket was a much better choice than the chopped chicken I had ordered from Shane's.

Wonder how many times anyone has ever had a person come over to do plumbing work for them and ended up buying food from them too.

I liked Shane's when the one nearby me first opened up, but it seems the quality has dropped a good bit the last couple times I've been.

I might be able to hop on and get some games in tomorrow.

Finally got the last co-op trophy in Far Cry 3 last night to finish up the plat. For as good as the main game was, the co-op was equally annoying/frustrating.

The way this started, it could have been story of the day.

Glad you got it finished. I would've been willing to help you get that last trophy even though I've already finished it.

I think most of what they serve is mediocre at best. Oddly, that is the stuff I would usually want from a BBQ stuff (like pulled pork). I really like the chopped chicken they have which I would likely never buy at a good BBQ place.

Not to sound like Tyler, but the main reason we chose there was because it was across the street and we had a B1G1 coupon.

Did you at least let your wife get her own drink?

Playing soccer is work now?
for me, yes... coaching is a job. I coach at a high school, pay really is nothing, but have also done private coaching for some other schools as well. now the athletic director wants to pay me extra to work with a kid who graduated last year and is working for a try out for some colleges. I get $50 a session for an hour and a half
