Don't you dare stop playing it, at least not for that reason. :shame:

Deadly Premonition is easily my most favorite underrated game of all time.
Oh I don't plan on it. We've had this graphics discussion before.

I'm guessing you finished it on 360? I see you started the PS3 version.

Yeah, I got all of the 360 version's achievements. Since the PSN store sells a complete version with all DLC for $19.99, I'm hoping for a $9.99-$14.99 sale price closer to Halloween.

I know the trophies are a little different than the achievements, but do you know if it would be feasible to get the plat in one playthrough without having to replay many of the chapters? I've read it's possible, but I don't want to just be staring at a guide the whole time. Maybe Gator can chime in when he sees this.

From what I can remember, the game is very picky/time-sensitive in terms of when you can do certain side quests that become unavailable at a moment's notice, so while it's definitely possible to get the plat in one playthrough (unlike the 360 version, where you had to play it 3 times total on each difficulty since the difficulty-completion achievements didn't stack), you might have to consult a guide for most of it.

Can't you just sleep until you hit the time frame that the missions are available? I have a sidequest guide that should help with those.

I think so? Actually, if you have the sidequest guide, you might be in good shape as long as it also helps you get the trading cards.
The only guide I could find for the trading card lists them in numerical order, as opposed to chronological. Those are going to be my biggest problem trying to do it in one playthrough I think. Maybe I can get most of them and (hopefully) only have a few to go back and get using chapter select.

There is a guide on Gamefaqs that makes it one playthrough if you are willing to follow it. It tells you things like after you do this, go sleep until night/day where the weather is raining/clear so you know the other events will be triggered. Otherwise, I could see things easily being missed. I know some people hate playing like that, but it means you will get the entire strange story in one go :)

As far as it looking bad, I think it was originally supposed to be a PS2 game, so that explains it to some extent.

Yeah I looked at that guide. I just don't think I'd be able to enjoy the game having to follow a guide like that. I think I may just use the sidequest guide to get those done, and hopefully that will limit how many chapters I'd have to replay. The only thing that sucks about chapter select is that you have to finish the chapter to keep anything you went back to collect/complete.

What the heck is going on with all these old deals on the main page?

Edit: Never mind, looks like it's fixed. Weird.

Season 2 of Pinball Arcade needs to get on ps4 asap! The greatest pinball table of all time

Terminator%202.jpg

I think there gonna get Addams Family and Bram Stoker's Dracula soon too, but not sure yet.
T2 is a great game, but I'm not sure it's the greatest game of all time. Then again I'm not entirely sure which game is the greatest of all time. Too many great pinball machines to pick from!

Dracula is next. Addams Family I believe is going to go to a Kickstarter for the licensing. Everyone will complain about it, but I will put money into the pot for it. You can thank me later.

And yes, we need season 2 ASAP! But we also need friend leader boards ASAP. Farsight is a sometimes infuriating company, but Pinball Arcade is great in spite of its flaws.

one trophy away from the downed/execute trophies, but it's water tower and I have yet to play once on water tower.  In week 7 officially, and easily passed the first 100% on the first match!  If you spread things out between healing and marking, as well as downs for the add people challenges it has been super easy.  Have 50 people in my camp all healthy... I think I can do this!

The first 100% challenge I did heals, got 50 heals in one match to complete the 28 needed, such an easy task if anyone is having issues.  I literally only shot people down if they don't see me or try and kill a teammate I am following. get roughly 5 downs that way and can heal the guy shooting each time.

Sad but I may be taking a break with Madden coming out tomorrow and it looking really good!

Ooh, nice deal on CoD: Ghosts. I'll pick that up for the $3.17 at Target after work. I'm not really into the MP side, but that's a decent price to play through the SP and it'll definitely resell higher than that.

$40 for Ghosts trade in at best buy, not too bad.  Going to do that today.  Thanks for reminding me I need to wipe my balls all over it before I drop it off, wouldn't want to short change anyone.

Wow, nice. I was thinking I'd grab the $2 XB1 copy and flip for $33 to BB since I'll be getting a PS3 copy anyway. $40 for $14 isn't as good a deal, but if you already have the game it's nice.

yea I have to go pick up madden tomorrow with target next door, may try for it if numbers haven't tanked by then, but a $2 COD will still trade for something.

So when people do these price match plus pre-order things, and they don't want to pre-order anything, do they just not pick up the pre-order? Cancel it later?

The preorder card is $1 and gets you $5 off the game when it comes out. That's it. They don't take your info or anything else, you just bring the card in when you want to buy the game you preordered and they scan it at checkout for the discount. If you don't want the game you just throw the card away for the $1 loss.

Trying to find the motivation to attempt this flippage. My target is hit and miss with this sort of stuff, though. Cainiac, are you here and have you attempted this at our Target??

where are you guys seeing the price for ghosts so low in order to get the big trade?
I have a copy from back when Target had it on cartwheel for 30% off or something and the online price was only $40. So I think I ended up getting it for like $27. Gonna try and get over there at lunch to do the trade before all the flippers drive the price down.

Thinking of trading in GTA V for PS3 too since I haven't played it, and just upgrade to the PS4 version when it comes out.

Mine are a 2 minute walk from each other. The only thing between them is a Dick's. I'm willing to walk past a place that plays shitty country out the front for $30, though.

Actually I'm going to get the PC version of Ghosts instead. Walmart has that for $20.82, so it's the cheapest way to play the game at $1.82 after PM + card.

Still going to get a XB1 copy to flip, though.

Has it been mentioned here that Housemarque is working on Alienation, a spiritual successor to Dead Nation? I only read about it just now. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

I can't watch stuff like that here at work, but wasn't that the one you and Keeper were giving horrible commentary on? I don't remember anyone mentioning it. Anyhow, I'm excited for it.
Yeah, we were complaining that so much time was wasted with going over games/footage that had already been shown at E3 and such, and that the only Vita coverage was by a 3rd party dev on a single game and Sony making Tearaway no longer Vita-exclusive. There was talk about some games that looked appealing and Alienation definitely got some attention.

I haven't done any of these PM/preorder scenarios yet, hasn't been anything I wanted. I did PM two 3DS games that went out of stock at BBY during the B1G1 and had to counter every possible scenario they threw at me as to why they couldn't do it. Had to reference their own policy page about 10 times to shut down every reason the MOD was laying on me and finally got it after like 15 minutes. I hate being like that but I really wanted Bravely Default on the cheap plus it really irritates me when they aren't familiar with their own rules or blatantly lie and tell you the exact opposite of their written policy until you show that you know it.

That being said, you shouldn't have any issue with these deals. The last I heard they ring up automatically at the register, so don't even mention the preorder discount. Just ask for the PM and after its marked down then add the preorder on and the computer should take care of it automatically. If you ask or tell them first they may tell you its not possible.

Quest mode in Crimsonland is pretty tough the further you get into it. The 5th set is taking me a while. Then you learn that even after you complete the 6th set there is one other perk and how you unlock it is freakin' Thermo-level annoying. I didn't come to Crimsonland to play a Threes clone hidden in a credit sequence easter egg.

Yeah, they pretty much suck ass there. I've been denied PM's to Gamestop because they don't consider them a competitor (what?) and they've refused to give me rain checks on stuff that was no problem at a different location. Not really wanting to deal with it, but it is a pretty lucrative flip... and we need toilet paper and coffee for the house anyway...
