Oh, I forgot to inform everyone what I was having for lunch. Leftover pasta from dinner last night.
I actually changed my mind and went to KFC. Kind of funny since you guys brought that up anyway and I didn't even see any of the KFC/Popeye's comments til right now.

They have a $2.99 Wednesday special with 2 piece of chicken, potatoes, biscuit, and corn. Can't pass that up. I'll grab Taco Bell tomorrow.

Finally, someone making some sense.

I could see PJ Racers becoming a new thread "thing" if enough people picked it up and started battling on the leaderboards. There's also some fairly tough trophies which would lead to bragging rights which I know the thread loves (did you guys know that me, Vig, and Stotch plat'd Rogue Legacy!?!?!?)

I actually could only get 11 of the 14 trophies. Let see if anyone can beat that.
It's one of those games that is pretty tough, but satisfying when you pull off the gold medal. I haven't put much time into second lap, but I made some decent progress in the original release (which is supposedly a lot harder.. or maybe just a little harder, I don't know).

I don't feel comfortable spending less than $5 for a full meal. Makes me wonder what I'm actually eating.

The problem is that you whine about a five minute game in the middle of an 80 hour RPG.
15 minute. Two 5-minute halves with surrounding garbage. Plus the tutorial beforehand on top of that. There are plenty of really poor ideas and implementations in the game, but having this unskippable long minigame is really, really bad.

Amber Rose:  Her ass is not quite as big as Minaj's from the different pics and videos posted.  So not as bad.  And she clearly knows how to shake it.  But the Sinead O'Connor look does nothing for me so I dont find her attractive due to that fact alone.

Yeah, that's an unfortunate decision she's going with.

We should stop talking about celebrities though. Apparently, only children find celebrities attractive.

If the game was 960 hours long would you be ok with that blitz ball game being an hour long?

But isn't it "video game" five minutes? I don't think those halves actually last five minutes each.

Man, Crunchewy, I'm disappointed in you. Focusing on the wrong things.

My point was that he's playing a time-intensive RPG. Not everything's going to be action-packed greatness. RPG people know this. Suck it up and get through the fluff, or play something else.

Not really. When the characters are swimming around unhindered the clock goes at about double-speed, but as soon as there's any kind of interaction where the menu pops up, the clock stops. It ends up exceeding the five minute halves pretty easily.

Here's a video of the whole thing from beginning to end of the game itself (so it doesn't include the tutorial stuff beforehand.) It's 15m25s: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhWpAdq2oX0

I don't see how you can say that it's 80 hours long in that context and not have meant that then the blitzball game was relatively short. If that's not what you meant than why state the game length? I was just taking it to the next logical step....

For the record, I only made it a few hours in or so when I tried it on PS2 several years back. Not my cup of tea. 80 hours of that? You've got to be kidding me!

I don't remember them being all that different, but I put almost all my time into 2nd Lap because of TROPHIES!!!!! :whee:

List of games Therm has not bitched about (feel free to add games, I couldn't think of any yet)

1) Uncharted

2) Prototype

3) Rogue Legacy (aside from pointing out the time-tracking glitch)

4) Luftrausers
Those are all in the last ten or so games I've finished. I could have put God of War 2 down but that had terrible QTEs with prompts that didn't appear in the same spot on the screen every time, so you were basically forced to die in order to find out about the QTE and then replay to get it right.

I dunno, man, I didn't mind that at all (I didn't mind it on PS2, I probably won't mind it now), and you know how I feel about sports.

No problem finding them attractive.

Fascinating and fantasizing about them/constantly posting about them/calling them "my girl" or "my waifu" is what's creepy and unnatural for anyone out of junior high school.

Seems the game people gate the most this month is the one I like the most. Even though I already own ps all stars, I'm never mad about getting a game that I can sell my disc copy of. Not an amazing month, but I'm not bothered by it. We've had some pretty good months for a while, and most of us are going to be running Destiny soon anyway. I'm also loving Diablo right now, so I'm not worried about other games atm, haha.

Lunch - I'm boring. Pretty much turkey and Swiss from the deli everyday. With a cup of diced peaches and a powerade/Gatorade.

I haven't played that yet. :)

So far of the games I've played this year, these are the ones I've have no complaints about:

  1. Xcom: Enemy Unknown + Within
  2. Marlow Briggs
  3. Shank
  4. They Bleed Pixels
  5. Fieldrunners 2
  6. Prototype
  7. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons
  8. Killzone 2 (aside from the glitch I ran into during play that forced me to restart the level--not really a game issue)
  9. Uncharted
  10. OlliOlli
  11. Killzone mercenary
  12. Luftrausers
  13. Rogue Legacy
  14. Resistance: Burning Skies
  15. Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines
I can't recall if I had any real complaints about Resistance. I don't think I did. If somebody wants to call me out on any of these that's fine, but looking back all these were pretty solid games. So 15 of 42.

I don't know what I'm going to have for lunch yet. I'm not really craving anything that I can make or that's nearby.

I guess I'll think of something when I go out to run errands later

Some of them were really short. And like I said, the QTE prompt would appear at different locations. Not sure why. Most of them were in the center, so it would make sense to look there to watch for them, then suddenly one would appear in the lower left corner.

Oh also I've been very happy playing Sly 1 so far. Almost to the first boss, so not anywhere near done with it yet, but I've been very pleasantly surprised.
