Vig, looks like you get to grab the DP Ultimate edition for $5.39. Got your wish a little earlier than expected.

I may grab The Warriors for $2.49, just in case.

Yeah, I would have been on board if it was fastest completion time on PSNP or something. If there's going to be one contest a month, then just have the whole period open for that month. It's not even like tyler would have to be a judge, people could just post their completion time and if you aren't going to finish fans t enough, don't even bother posting yours.

Ugh I just looked at rpg's psn profiles page.  He's played like 15 straight adventure games and 100%'d them all.  I'm so glad I'm not a trophy whore.

I checked out with five games and was only charged the $5.39 for DP: DC, so that $19.99 was hopefully just a typo.

Once I'm off work, I'm gunning for the V2X plat. GUNNING I TELL YOU

I still have 2.5 hours of work left! :wall: I almost think TheCro's idea might be better:
I think fastest completion time is dumb because it just rewards the person with the largest block of "free time" in their life to be able to play the whole game in one sitting.

Also there can never really be a winner because someone could always best them.

Could always have two winners for each challenge, the Tortoise award and the Hare award. The Hare award goes to the first one to get the platinum and the Tortoise award goes to the one with the shortest completion time in, say, a 5 day or week time span (depending on how long it takes to platinum on average). That way everyone has a chance to win one of the two.

You made sure to grab the Ultimate Edition right? Kinda silly to even have the vanilla version listed, since they've always been the same price.

But doing it this way, you're just rewarding someone who might have the largest amount of time on the start date. That's more unfair than awarding someone who might absolutely not be able to play Tuesday - Saturday or something. And as for someone always beating them, like I said make it a timed thing. You have from 9/1 - 9/30 to finish. Your plat has to be time stamped by that date.

Glad I decided to not completly upload -all- of my music to Amazon Music.  Their interface is less than desirable.  Picking an album plays everything by that artist instead of each individual album, there's no sorting or search option, etc.

Damn that is cheap. I am a bit surprised. Usually those niche titles like that don't get that cheap.
Certainly is. Also didn't expect it to be on sale this soon after we talked about it.

I wanted a physical copy, and was able to grab one for $19.99 from WalMart a while back. The PS3 version sold out everywhere and apparently never got a reprint. The original 360 version was only $19.99 at release.

Super Meat Boy Forever doesn't look fun at all.

http://www.ign.com/videos/2014/09/01/8-minutes-of-super-meat-boy-forever-pax-prime

The best part about the original was how well Meat Boy controlled, especially in the air as you're narrowly dodging  spikes and saws and everything else.  All of that is gone in an endless runner and the only way to make jumps is by timing it correctly, and the only way to do that is playing the level over and over and over until you memorize everything.

Stupid.  Huge let down.

Let's just all admit that this contest is inherently flawed and stop doing them.  We can just stick to only ever having that first winner.  He seems cool.

Might have to look at this with as much as people have been talking about it lately. The amount of time added to plat from sidequests and such is making me a bit leery. 30-35 hours seems like a lot for a horror game.
I guess you can call it a horror game, but it's not scary at all. A bit creepy at times maybe, but not scary. It's worth playing for the story and characters, whether you want to go for the plat or not.

sales aren't bad this week it seems. mass effect trilogy for $14 would be ok, that's almost $10 cheaper than the low used copy on amazon. dead space 2 for $5 is ok for me since I can sell my sealed copy for more than $20 and I don't care about the rail shooter that comes with it. mp3/rdr bundle is pretty cool too. and a bunch of vita games.

good week.

I nominate Ride To Hell: Retribution as October's trophy extravaganza experience. We'll have a gay old time and triple the sales numbers for Eutechnyx in the process. We can become capitalist job creators, guys.

There's no "fair" way to do it. And the method you guys are suggesting involved binge playing, which is something I don't want to encourage because it can fuck up people's enjoyment of the game.

Also creating a timeframe like that gives an advantage to those who wait because by 9/25 there will probably be a decent guide out that those who want to play Day 1 won't have access to.

This way encourages binge playing too, but not to the same extent. I know I'll be taking a break for dinner at least, hopefully others going for it will take at least small breaks as well.

We can create another award like that if you guys want to though, if you guys want to have multiple winners (which I think is kinda dumb but whatever). We'll talk about it after this competition is over.

Right now, the Velocity 2X one is running as is.

Kinda reminds me of going through the time trials on Rayman Origins trying to shave off a precious 2 seconds. I never played the original, but yeah, this looks like a huge pain in the ass.

Why can't the original just go on sale alone? Jesus christ.

yeah everyone stop taking the velocity thing so seriously. I'll probably play for an hour our so tonight and then back to tlou.

and I'll still kick all of your asses.

I want this.  Maybe I'll sell my White PS4 and upgrade if it ever comes stateside, which it won't.

Someone who platinums it in 8 hours playing 2 hours a day will lose to someone who plats it in 20 hours playing 10 hours a day. Also, people who wait until the end of the date will have the added benefit of videos and guides.
