My husband wants me to get them for him

I'm going to try Ralph's since they always have weird twizzler variety at the one next to me. I'll let you know if they have it so you can check your Ralph's :0

Alright, after some lunch playing, I'm perfect through level 23.

I kind of hate throwing the transport ball when on foot since you have to use the left analog to aim it.

It may just be me, but I'm really not enjoying the bomb and teleport controls for Velocity Ultra. Feels like I'm fighting with them a lot--they don't feel natural at all. Maybe it'd be better with a grip, I dunno, but right now I've perfected the first 8 zones and I'm just disliking that component more as I go.

We don't have Ralph's here, so I still won't be able to get them. But if you do, I've got some friends/family out in California, I'll have them ship some if that's what it comes to haha.

So what YOUR saying is...YOUR not a fan?

Okay, I figured out the problem. It's the damn dual controls that were messing me up. I'd figured out earlier that you could shoot bombs with circle and didn't pay as much attention as I should to when bombs are finally explained in the game. I didn't realize you could direct them with the right analog, so I was hitting circle+movement direction to aim them, which was just cumbersome and unpleasant as fuck . It feels a lot better now that I'm using the right analog instead.  :wall:

So I was only missing a few artifacts in one chapter, so I went and grabbed them. The trophy for getting all collectibles popped, but not the one for getting all artifacts. Wtf man.

Is this about TLOU? That glitch happened to me.

I also started a new game after the glitch happened and got all artifacts in one play through and it still didn't pop. That's why I don't have the ps3 plat.

The last boss is actually easy as fuck. If you aren't sending his attacks back you are doing it wrong.
I seem to be able to hit the orange ones with a lot more regularity and could do the blue ones reliably in the first form, but whiff almost all the blues in the second form, I don't know if it is because the camera is positioned at a different angle or what. His thick black wings in the second form make close range combat and evading annoying since when he flaps his wings every second it obscures most of the screen when close to him. So it's evading and waiting around for him to decide to throw fireballs.

First form was also annoying because his peons were running all around you in terror for 2/3rds of the fight obscuring your view of the boss and making it harder to spot the telegraphs to his attacks.

I did finally figure out the block breaker combo problem in Heavenly Sword. Once you have the titular sword, you have 3 stances you can switch between: Ranged which flings weak chains at long range like God of War, speed which is a normal strength rapid sword attack at close range, and power which are slower hard hitting sword blows at close range.

There are block breaker combos for speed stance and block breaker combos for power stance. If they are a weaker enemy type which only has speed attacks, the speed stance block breaker combo can break their block. If they are a stronger enemy type which can do power stance attacks, then only a power stance block breaker combo will break their block. They never bother to explain this in the manual or in the tutorial.

Of course, since the power stance block breaker combo is a string of 4 slow attacks and they often throw lots of enemies at you at once it is sometimes problematic to pull off the entire string before you have to evade away to avoid getting hit in the back. This was particularly a problem in a fight near the end of the game which mixed a half dozen, hulking, power stance enemies with a half dozen speed freak ninjas which don't stay stunned on the ground very long.

You can use the touch screen to throw transport balls as well. It was less precise to me and I couldn't get it to aim where I wanted quickly enough, but you may have better skill/luck with it.

I want some of these too. I was thinking maybe I'd stop at a few places to see if I could find them and then let you know, but then I realized it was just a trap to take my time away from V2X.

Its gonna take u does at least 1 month to get all perfects in 2X, hahahaha nubs. I only got one perfect and that was the first level. There's alot of hidden codex thingys too that u can miss real easy.

Despite my earlier post about my awesome sandwich, the highlight of today is getting about 10 consecutive emails where people are replying-all to a 1300+ people distribution list to tell people to stop replying-all to a 1300+ people distribution list.

Oh, Snakey, what would we do without you?

I hate those people at work too! To be clear, I hate those idiots that dont know they are idiots for continuing to reply to all. But the whole email chain thing is really fun to watch. I work for a very large company and one time someone sent an email out to probably half the company. Thousands and thousands of people. People started getting out of control and posting gifs. Eventually an executive had to email everyone and tell them that senior management was watching and ready to discipline.

EDIT: some of the gifs were good to as they were openly mocking the morons that would tell everyone not to reply all.

You don't need all the codex pickups for the plat. nub or something.

It's been awhile since I played it but I agree that game left you to figure out a lot of the nuances on your own. I probably didn't even use everything I could have in that game. I remember there were also the air combos that I remember figuring out on accident for the most part. The thing is you would have to shake the controller to initiate them which is stupid. You can change that to a button press in the menus though. In general though with any action game like this with a combo and countering system it does help to learn the finer details. It sounds like you got it down. I do remember getting annoyed at times later in the game as well. Overall though I thought it was solid.

Are they required for a perfect map run or just bonuses?
As Zimm said, just bonuses. Collecting the Codex entries and bonus level unlocks (which also permanently vanish when you collect them once), plus beating the bonus levels themselves, shouldn't be too difficult. You can refer to a guide if necessary.

Just realized I forgot to list side missions 22 and 23 in my Deadly Premonition post. I edited it, just a heads-up to any who may have like printed it off or something.

We've started to get stock pictures of penguins and personal shout outs. I hope it never ends.

One of Zimms DP (double post pervs!) is just gone. How is that possible?

Haha. I'm not competing, so I'll do more leg work in the area until you finish up. If I still have no luck then you can take over.

I do like the idea of the stance system, but in practice it didn't work quite right. You can't switch stances immediately, often I would let go of the button to switch stances and then press the attack button, but the next attack which happens is still the previous stance. With how twitch based the sword play is at times that isn't ideal (compared to DMC where you can switch between weapons seamlessly).

Since blocking is done automatically when you are in the correct stance (but not while attacking) and there is very little wind-up in the enemy attacks, if you are in mid-attack when an enemy attack starts there is not much you can do to respond to it, other than try to evade quickly.

Which is another sticking point, the evade distance is pretty short. On one of the bulkier bosses he can do a string of several damaging attacks and the roll distance is short enough that you can't always get away from the latter attacks in the string. That seemed like a missed opportunity to incorporate the stances in another meaningful way, varying the length of your evasion roll depending on your current stance.

Maybe they'll get it right in their "totally not a sequel to Heavenly Sword so we don't get sued" Hellblade. I mean, who do they think they are fooling? The background in the trailer is pretty much the same layout as the "talk to the sword" sequences / chapter select and the main character looks like Nariko but with Kai's make-up job.
