So after hearing so many parents push back against common core mathematics finally saw a video which explained the common core method of addition and I don't get what the big fuck ing deal is.

Rather than memorizing what X + Y is or using long addition which is difficult to do in your head, you break the two numbers into smaller numbers to make as many numbers as possible evenly divisible by 10 to make it easier to visualize.

So 66 + 25 becomes 60+6 + 4+21. 6 matches with 4 to make 10 and it becomes 60 + 10 + 21, so you have 60 + 10 + 20 with a remainder of 1, for 91. Once you became more comfortable with the method what you would probably do is just subtract 4 from 25 and add that 4 to 66 in your first step to get 70 + 21.

Or something like 64 + 43 it becomes 60+4 + 3+40. So you have 60 + 40 with a remainder of 7, for 107.

The long levels really were a drag. Ugh. It's also pointless to have some levels classified as critical urgency type when you have to be crazy fast in every level.

Everyone has been complaining about the on foot levels and the controls on them. I would have had no problem if it was a separate game or if levels were only ever in ship or on foot. The controls for the 2 were just too damn different and having to switch between them rapidly was a real headache. I really hated how my brain thought of the lasers in ship and the lasers on foot as being similar and then bombs in ship and rifle on foot as being similar, since right stick controlled one in ship and the other on foot.
Yeah, I thought the game was going to have ship levels and platforming levels, not both in every level. Maybe if it was just one platforming section, it wouldn't be too bad, but 3-4 in a level? Shit is confusing.

For trophy competition purposes, I hope we stay away from games with MP trophies, or at least ones that require skill, although I'm probably alone in this as most everyone else boosts so it wouldn't matter.

Oops, just saw other people say this.

Alleged attacker was heard saying: "I've never seen that many black people in one place, so I thought something was up and had to take him out."
That's like when my mom called me to say there was a suspicious black man walking around her little gated community in the morning and called the cops. I saw him and he was just a normal black dude in a polo shirt.

I'd like to stream more, but I keep playing stuff that I'd think would suck to watch. For example, if I had been streaming the past couple of days, this is what it would have been like:

*play 15 seconds of level*

fuck restart

*play 8 seconds of level*

fuck restart

*play 3 seconds of level*

fuck restart

*play 31 seconds of level*

fuck restart

*play 47 seconds of level*

fuck restart

*play 92 seconds of level and beat it*

*see that I missed the perfect by 2 seconds*

FFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
That's pretty much what I did. The people watching just chat amongst themselves.

That seems ridiculously complicated.

If you send me a pm saying you are a cag I will make you a mod / free access to our ticket shows where we really party.

I just went and looked at the upcoming games that I am interested in for I guess the rest of the year and only found 2 that are day 1 purchases and 1 that I may day one.

Evil Within (Birthday Gift for myself)
COD AW (Day one no doubt)

Shadow of Mordor. This is the possible day one game. I am a sucka ass foo for LotR games. Never read the books and haven't finished the trilogy movies yet, but something about their games... I just have to play them.

SoM does look quite cool. I'm looking forward to seeing more about it and the reviews as well, though.

Welp. Just wasted a fuck load of time building a long ass minecart track in Minecraft (PS3), so if someone wants a free gold trophy, let me know.
I might get that at some point through my library, so please don't destroy it if you ever get that kind of urge.

I have a Math degree, and that sounds far more complicated than what I do: From your example, I would add the second number to the first as a multiple of 10, then add the remainder. So 64 + 43 becomes 64 + 40 + 3.

I just got perfect on level 50 and I need a mod.
Congrats, man. Your final time was right on 1:00, huh? :applause:

Not going to bother with the 25 Perfects either.

Got all the bonuses done, so I guess I'm done with the game.

Very enjoyable overall, I felt like the platforming sections were just not quite perfect control-wise. Loved the spaceship portions but felt like some of the levels were too long.

8/10
Great, now I know that I can get the 25 perfects and stay ahead of you on the TT leaderboards. I already have 20 perfects so 5 more should be doable.

Actually, I wouldn't mind something with MP since the contest is just a way to get me to knock stuff out of my backlog (or in V2X's case, prevent it from ever ending up there). So playing a game with some MP before the servers get turned off would be great hypothetically. Of course, there's basically no way to do it that everyone would agree is fair, boosting or not.

While I agree with everything you said here I would like to think the devs didnt separate the ship and on foot levels to purposely make it harder. Which is why we should all hail V...ig's skills. Unbelievable that he would have the skill and intestinal fortitude to plat it so quick,

I'll calm down. Till the playoffs.

It was opening game against some vocal Greenbay cags. How could I resist.

Sorry for derailing your off topic thread.
I don't mind all of the football talk. 10 pages of that certainly beats 10 pages of breakfuss Not-Baitin' someone and the ensuing argument.

Football talk from me
Usually I really hate when a super young quarterback wins the super bowl. Like they didn't really earn that honor yet... Roethlisburgler's main skill is running in circles and avoiding sacks for 5 minutes until someone gets open. Eli Manning is a big stupid baby who looks like a child ("The chargers? But daaaaaaaad, I wanna play for a real team!" Weren't the colts garbage when Peyton got there? If you're that good of a QB, you just make a team good.) I'm super glad that Flacco, who got the ravens into the playoffs in each of his first 5 years, won over Kaepernick, who was just some random dude who showed up in the middle of the season, even though that year was not exactly the ravens' strongest. They really just went on a tear once the playoffs started. Having said all that, I like Wilson pretty alright. He seems like he'll be a good player for a number of years. But since I'm a Redskins fan (wearing my RG3 jersey at work today), I'm glad the Seahawks and 49ers have to beat each other up in their division and hopefully they'll be tired by the time the playoffs come around.

I'm actually far more bothered by snakey's new obsession with getting poop on his systems...

White ps4s will be defective and if u wipe poop on a white ps4 then u cant hide it!

Does this mean that his black ps4 is covered in brown smudges, but he thinks no one notices because they're "hidden"?

When the football talk is all illegible babble from one guy though, it's pretty low on the list of things I want to read through. I'm sure most here agree.

Ok, well I was talking more about the coherent trash talking that it started out as and less about all the posts that were a million periods with some letters thrown around in between them.

so for the monthly trophy invitational tournament (tit) I think I'm onboard with the following:
- monthly game should come from the month's ps+ lineup so only people too ridiculous to not pony up for ps+ can't participate. doing one of the day one freebies was totally awesome.
- prefer that it be a shorter game - 15 hours or less
- any of the three consoles is fair game
- it really should have a plat, but I think first to 100% is fine since most plat games won't be doable in 15 or fewer hours.
- bonus point chances can be had during the month if something like virtua fighter 2 comes up again where you can 100% in 15 minutes.
- the scaled point thing is the right way to do it - 10 for 1st, 7 for 2nd, 5 for 3rd, 4 for 4th, 3 for 5th or whatever. bonus point opportunities are worth 1 and there is only one winner (like whoever got the fastest vf2 time in 24 hours or something).

I wish we would've started this with Strider, but I think too many people have started/finished it now.

ESPN thinks Barry Bonds joining Twitter to tweet about Joan Rivers death is worthy of a breaking news Push Notification.

I don't even....

Hey, I haven't started Strider yet. I can't be the only one, right?

I don't understand FF on ESPN at all. My defense finished but I can't find where the hell I see how many points I got. It breaks all these things down like interceptions, sacks, points allowed...but where's the total points they got me?! :wall:
From your team page, right under your team name, it says Current Matchup. Click on (Box).

I'm already regretting my Eddie Lacy pick. One game and he got a concussion. Is Quinoa still giving away running backs?

Not the only one, as I havent either, but I agree with Pete, it should be new games on plus. That way everyone has the game without an extra out of pocket expense and most likely less people will have played the game.

vig, fun fact - you're the first person on psnp to have platted velocity 2x that got it at release (everyone else must've had review copies) and you're the fastest out of all of them by a mile (with one exception, one dude finished in 2d 8h as opposed to your 2d 1h).

and we could do strider just for kicks instead of it being official tit, I was thinking about digging in to it after I finish tlou mp tomorrow. maybe starting on Monday next week?

Vig has to thank Velo and Jay/Frisky/Cagchamp for that fast time.  And whoever else was pushing him.

That Velocity 2x plat for Vig sure has made for an impressive past 5 days on TT for him.  I would say 10k TT points since the first of Sept is pretty damn good.

I'd bet whoever that person is that was faster didn't work 16 hours of that 2 days either.

I may trade some running backs... Ingram, Spiller, and Turbin are on the block
