...But I did work 16 hours (18 if you include lunch hours) during those 2 days. And my in-game time was 13.5 hours, as I said in response to Pete.
I misread Backlog's post. I thought he was initially saying your time was 7 hours slower.

Also, that other guy is German, so you know he didnt work 16 hours in 2 days. They have legally mandated 35 hour max work weeks over there.

I need to do some trading. Most of my RB and WR are crap IIRC. Will look into it this weekend, I guess. Pretty much my whole team plays Sunday.

Yeah that's what we're pointing out, is how impressive it is that you are the first to plat it (according to PSN profiles) since release, despite having to work 8 hours each day.

remote play is boss. I'd bet at this point I've played more hours on my vita than any other single console in my life.

Nice. It's a good look for you. The all knowing eye.

but they use metric time and metric work, so who the hell knows how much work and time they cram in to one of our lazy american 24 hour days.

I wish someone would figure out how to make the under 20 hour console rpg. I think child of light was a good experiment in that realm - if they weren't all 40+ hour monsters I'd play them all the time, but it's hard to dedicate (for me) an entire month to playing one game nowadays.
So making Disgaea 5 a 2015 tournament title is out of the question...?

Sqaure Enix should hire this man. He's got the right idea. I keep putting off starting this stack of jrpgs I have; I'm kinda intimidated I guess you could say.

Isn't that basically Costume Quest?

so for the monthly trophy invitational tournament (tit) I think I'm onboard with the following:
- monthly game should come from the month's ps+ lineup so only people too ridiculous to not pony up for ps+ can't participate. doing one of the day one freebies was totally awesome.
- prefer that it be a shorter game - 15 hours or less
- any of the three consoles is fair game
- it really should have a plat, but I think first to 100% is fine since most plat games won't be doable in 15 or fewer hours.
- bonus point chances can be had during the month if something like virtua fighter 2 comes up again where you can 100% in 15 minutes.
- the scaled point thing is the right way to do it - 10 for 1st, 7 for 2nd, 5 for 3rd, 4 for 4th, 3 for 5th or whatever. bonus point opportunities are worth 1 and there is only one winner (like whoever got the fastest vf2 time in 24 hours or something).

I wish we would've started this with Strider, but I think too many people have started/finished it now.
Gamers with kids are awarded a handicap.... three day head start.

is it? I've never really played it but always wanted to.

speaking of shiny new gen games, I think evolve could be stupid fun if it gets a good community around it. I always like those 'near invincible beast vs a team of synergistic assholes' modes in mp games. playing with randoms will be a hilarious nightmare though.

It's like a 7 hour RPG with fairly simple battle mechanics or those penny arcade games RPG episodes are also 7-10 hours each.

So after hearing so many parents push back against common core mathematics finally saw a video which explained the common core method of addition and I don't get what the big fuck ing deal is.

Rather than memorizing what X + Y is or using long addition which is difficult to do in your head, you break the two numbers into smaller numbers to make as many numbers as possible evenly divisible by 10 to make it easier to visualize.

So 66 + 25 becomes 60+6 + 4+21. 6 matches with 4 to make 10 and it becomes 60 + 10 + 21, so you have 60 + 10 + 20 with a remainder of 1, for 91. Once you became more comfortable with the method what you would probably do is just subtract 4 from 25 and add that 4 to 66 in your first step to get 70 + 21.

Or something like 64 + 43 it becomes 60+4 + 3+40. So you have 60 + 40 with a remainder of 7, for 107.
Seems like a lot of additional steps that would lead to more opportunities for a fuck-up somewhere, and one fuck-up is all it takes to get it wrong. Instead of long addition, you're having to remember extra numbers and which numbers go together.

That being said, I think most people who are quite good at math have probably taught themselves this, or a version of this anyway.

121 x 8, I would do 125 x 8 which is easy 1000 and then subtract 32 from that (8 x (125 - 121) = 968.

I think learning the basics and long addition/subtraction/multiplication/division is probably a better foundation in my opinion. Also I'm guessing parents are pushing back because they can't help their kids with this version of math since they were never taught it.

But I've never heard of "common core" mathmatics til right this moment.

I was going to suggest Strider if we don't have a good game from PS+ next month. Possibly Vessel too, I know nobody played that. We'll talk about that more after we find out the October games.

Like I said, best way to stay eligible is to NOT play any free PS+ games we've got, especially more recent ones, for the next couple weeks.

But Vessel looks so...so...blah. :???:

and we could do strider just for kicks instead of it being official tit, I was thinking about digging in to it after I finish tlou mp tomorrow. maybe starting on Monday next week?
Definitely don't want to waste a potential candidate game as a just for kicks game.

Don't play Strider yet.

I don't have a PS4 you jerks. Though at this point I guess I'm in the minority? Not sure. Any currentish stats on forum regulars with/without a PS4?

Vessel would be good since it is blah.  Harder to play.  But I could see everyone using a video guide if there is one since its a puzzle game.  No real skill involved.  You would need to try and keep this to games that require at least some skill.

Ditto with Limbo. Limbo would be perfect with that "Less than 5 deaths trophy" but at this point you could just use a video guide for every single enemy/trap and beat it in just a few hours and prove nothing.

Velocity 2X was kind of anomaly. It just worked so perfectly for a tournament like this. We may have to lower our expectations a bit with other games.

I'm sure you're all dying to know that the Orioles won yesterday. The view from my field box seat was awesome, but I'm mixed on the cup holders. Nice for drinks, bad for tall people's legs.

Definitely agree with this. That's why I've really come to enjoy action RPG games. Some of the enjoyment from leveling and advancing from RPGs but not nearly as much of a time-sink.

Every time I post I get immediately confused because I think Nightmare typed the exact same post I did. Then I realize that it actually was me and my ugly new eye.

Ugh.

You just want free likes and more "rep" points dont you? Man you never stop.

All hail King of PSN OT! From now on to be known as KoPSNOT.
Nah, I just remembered Stotch and Therm being curious when CoD:G had a similar promo with reservation cards. Most of you don't venture into the main gaming deals forum, so...

That's a pretty sick nickname, though. And I mean that in the cool way.

Yeah and I now need you to tell me where these games are cheap since I am lazy and you are the KoPSNOT. Please share all your worldly knowledge!

Even with Limbo videos that 5 deaths trophy is still pretty damn hard. Even if you know what to do and how, it is really easy to fuck up in that game. Now if that last part was at the very beginning so you could just restart, it would be a different story. With that said, I am still not sure if it is a great pick.
