This one time, I played Final Fantasy 7. I would be looking to upgrade my equipment, so I had two options.

1. I could farm for the currency of the game, known as Gil, and just buy the equipment.

2. I could fight hundreds of enemies in the same spot on the off chance that one of them might drop that equipment I need.

Needless to say, I went with option 2 because Final Fantasy 7 is a loot based game.

What're you watching that's started back up? So far for me it's just The League, Blacklist, and Sleepy Hollow.
Trying out Gotham but based on the pilot I don't know how much longer I'll be watching that, Sleepy Hollow. Agents of Shield and a netflix on Tuesday, busy with other stuff on Wednesday.

They finally added the final season of How I met Your Mother on Netflix, then I have Arrow, Modern Family, Parenthood, I'm trying Gotham, and then the Walking dead with Downton Abbey starting in January....

Stotch and Tyler, I realize now why I do not remember fighting the Enderdragon.  Apparently, according to the friend I played with, if you joined someones world and use the Ender gate after they already killed him, it automatically popped for you.  It finally makes sense why I did not remember it at all.

The wife tried watching How To Get Away With Murder last night. It was horrifically bad. Tons of time skips and terrible characters and not even a hint of coherency even in the first ten minutes or so. Really hope that crashes and burns.  :nottalking:

A fly has been buzzing around my office off and on for 3 days and I finally got it.

It's been long enough that I can spoil HIMYM's ending:

It sucks.

Watch every third episode, and then the last two and you'll be able to follow the entire plot of the season while missing very little.
He doesn't even have to watch the rest of the season. Just the last two. And that's only if he's trying to punish himself for something.

Yea I was seeing you talk about some of the trophies and I thought that was all you had to do?

Can someone embed that 3 hour Shadow of Mordor video for people, I don't have access to you tube in order to post it...  It will make every single person here go out and buy it on tuesday...

What is the MP supposed to be like in Mordor?  I didnt see the reviews mention it at all.  Is there MP?

EDIT:  I guess there is no MP.  I thought there was though as someone was mentioning playing it with others werent they?  Tyler or keeper?

Yea I know, more for just something to do, and I know how it ends, I had it spoiled already....

Breaking bad still has the best series finale probably ever!

It is not all I have left to do, but it will get 2 of the 5 I have left. The biome trophy, 100 hour trophy (which I hope to have popped when I get home from work), and the mine cart are the other 3 before plat.

Tyler and Stotch have a few more to get, but none of them are tough. We did all the farming we needed to do last night to be ready to get our ass kicked beat the dragon tonight.

Their systems sure have been wonky lately.
I tried to pre-order Hyrule Warriors in store for our son, and it's a miracle that Best Buy is still in business. I told them I wanted to just pay it all off and then it rung up full price in spite of having GCU. I said, "what the fuck??" (not really) and then they told me that if I put only part of the money down then I'd get GCU off the remaining amount when I picked up the game. So I said, "what the fuck??? What about the part I put down?" And so I just picked up all my toys and left and ordered online where I got full GCU discount. Then I tweeted about it and Best Buy picked up on that and responded and made it sound like maybe I'd actually have gotten the full GCU discount after I paid it all off. But really it still wasn't that clear. This place is fucked, but I'm glad I've got GCU anyway.

Unrelated to the quote, but did they get rid of the dedicated My Best Buy portal? I liked that one a lot better than the MyBestBuy info that you can find within the main Best Buy website.

Also, my Destiny points finally posted, so that's a huge plus.

Also, if I pre-order with free shipping, does Best Buy usually deliver on release day?

If I am paying off the game I always do online, they have always had a problem paying off a game in store and would rather just do the $5 gc preorder....

There's no "probably" about it. ;)

I won't be buying this SoM game on Tuesday. I doubt it's going to sell very well, even if it is amazing. I'll get it during the holidays when it's $30 or less.
I'll likely do the same. I'm busy enough finishing up Puppeteer, and I plan on platting Rayman Origins and maybe something else before The Evil Within, which I'm definately getting day-one.

If you pre-order in store, you don't get the GCU discount til you pick up the game. So you don't want to pay for the full game right away in-store. Say you put down $5 in store, when you went to pick it up you would have been charged $48+tax-$5 so it would have come out the same either way.

That being said I always preorder online anyway so I don't have to deal with that. Almost all games you can pre-order for in store pickup anyway.

For all in-store preorders, only put down the $5 minimum deposit and make sure you provide your Best Buy account information with the GCU membership attached (you won't see any discount yet). Then when you come pick the game up, give your preorder receipt and the GCU discount will kick in for the full total--the $5 deposit you put down is counted as a payment method towards the discounted total.

It looks like it, unfortunately.

As for the free shipping, I think it depends. If you get free Expedited shipping (like we Elite Plus members :whistle2: ), then it's possible, but with Standard shipping it's less likely.

K I'll just do store pickup. I am Elite but not Elite Plus, which is nice when I order something under $25 I still get free shipping. But for stuff over $25, Elite doesn't do anything anymore.

that sucks, the dedicated portal was literally there 3 or 4 days ago. NOT IMPROVEMENT.

I usually get shipped preorders from bby on Wednesday as elite plus. no idea if the reward tier affects preorders shipping speed though.

You can join mine sure. You wont get the trophy though. You would have to join Tyler's for that. You would also have to find the end portal and go through it too. For that you have to ask Stotch where it is since he has the coordinates. Good luck with all that :)

Yeah, the reason I was trying to do this in-store is that my son had a Vanilla Visa gift card with $20 on it and I wasn't sure if I could charge $20 on that, then $16.50 from a BB gift card and then pay the rest with my real Visa, online. I figured this would be easier in-store. I was wrong. I resolved this problem by putting the $20 Vanilla Visa card into my slim Vita upgrade at Gamestop, then went home and used the BB gift card and paid the rest with my normal Visa. It was the how do I specify charging only $20 on the fake Visa part that I wasn't sure you could do online.

I am glad I have every retail store I would ever need either on the way to/from work or within a handful of miles from work and home.  I never have anything shipped unless its from an online retailer or something I really cant find locally.

I would hate to live in the middle of nowhere like Stotch.

Yeah the store is about 10 minutes away from me, but if I could have it at my house Tuesday evening after work that beats going to pick it up at lunch. But actually picking it up is fine too. There is a Pier 49 right next door, that's just where I'll have lunch that day.

K, Mordor is all preordered and ready to go.  I love Reward Zone certs, they take tax off the orders, it's awesome!

I know what I'll be streaming on Tuesday!

More info about Woah Dave!, coming to PS4 and Vita.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/09/26/how-woah-dave-blends-old-and-new-on-ps4-vita/

I don't have any problem with small games like this, but they need to be priced accordingly. I hope this isn't any more than $2.99.
I just wish these indie pixel dry humpers would take a step back and realize that not everything has to be an homage to the 80s. it's not like the 80s were some sort of wonderland of video game excellence, there was 100 buckets of crap for every gem that hit and most of it doesn't hold up.

go ahead, go play pitfall for a while indie developer. I'll wait.

good enough for the ps blog?

edit - I didn't know about unity until I got an email this morning that my preorder date changed. I don't know how you guys keep track of all the shit that's coming out, when, who makes it, the people's names that review it, the coordinates of the ender door, which celebrities have been in which fappenings, etc. OVERLOAD

yet somehow I remember that the code to go straight to mike tyson is 007-373-5963. go figure.
