Yeah, not even sure why I'm asking. With Evil Within out in 2 days there's no reason I shouldn't just wait for a sale of somr sort. I've just been wanting to play something scaryish and the Alien series is awesome...

I haven't actually played it of course, but isn't the Alien AI being unpredictable kinda the point? I mean where's the suspense if you know exactly how the thing is going to act?

Nah, just make a lot of manual saves ;)

Super fun, easy but satisfying. I'm about 30 minutes from the plat, my save file is 13:45 right now. It even has twitchy challenge speed run stuff, so you'll feel right at home there, but they're short and easy. (Only six challenges with super easy patterns, don't get scared non-twitchers.)

Edit: Oops, make that 5 minutes from the plat. I guess I was a bit overpowered.

The atmosphere is still superb and the tension brilliant, but having played a few hours more some really aggravating problems are starting to surface. The most frustrating is that the alien never goes away, by which I mean it exists on a sort of bungie cord to you, leaving for a moment and then running right back to you with no pattern or reasoning. It makes it more realistic and less predictable, sure, but it also makes it really frustrating as you spend so much time waiting in lockers and under tables for this super brief window where the alien leaves, but there's never any way of knowing if the alien might fall out of the ceiling at any second and kill you randomly.

Which in turn leads into the other problem of the game having one of the worst save systems of any major game I've played in years. No autosave, no checkpoints, and only a very small number of terminals you can manually save at spaced apart (which you can actually get kill whil waiting to startup). I played for over an hour today and made almost no progress, as I was just replaying the same area every time I got caught (which needless to say gets very annoying).

Then there are little things like the clumsy controls, the awful map, the almost useless journal, and the convoluted level designs that are starting to make it a chore to make any progress. There are still things I think it does amazingly well (namely the atmosphere, perfectly replicating the look and feel of the movie, and being absolutely terrifying), which just makes all these issues the more disappointing. I'm going to keep playing, but my original enthusiasm is starting to dry up pretty fast.

 
Blarg, I forgot Tales of Hearts R retail is Gamestop exclusive.  It's Playstation TV compatible, though, so yay.  Guess I'll have to bite the bullet.

 
Finally unlocked the Daily board in Arcade mode with a 1.278 million round. And I actually moved ahead of some of you on the leaderboard. Came oh so close to top 10 global. May have to wait for the reset.
 
Good luck to anyone trying to play a game with Velo.  He doesn't have message notifications so the only time you can get a hold of him is either right before he starts or when he's done for the night.

 
I'm not positive, but did we go a whole day without mentioning ixPay eThay atCay?

I guess Vig winning again took away everyone's enthusiasm. Way to go Vig.

Everyone else: Yeah, I'll play Pix. It'd be cool if I won the trophy contest. Hopefully I can find the time to get it done.

The times I don't get a response are usually because his kids are grinding trophies instead of doing chores.

I guess I hit a glitch in Dust but not sure its the same one Simmias was talking about.  In the middle of a cut scene in Chapter 4 a PS4 error screen popped up kicking me out of the game.  When I went back in the last auto save was still there.

I'm hard pressed to come up with a team that we weren't inferior to today. Offense sputtered and puked all over themselves.

Ha, was it the one where

you find out who you are?

Because that's exactly where my game crashed out, too. RIght at the end of like 10 minutes of dialogue.

And of course my 3000th trophy is a dumb Wheel of Fortune one. Would have went for something cooler to live on the profile if I knew I was that close.

It looks like my 4000th will be from SoM...or that "pervy" game I'm playing on Vita. :razz:

Ideally I'll finish off Tomb Raider tonight.

And after another 4 hours of "gameplay" (social link crap) I finally get to another dungeon and the only good part of Persona 4.

I really miss the monster negotiations from the earlier games too.
