Don't get me wrong, quality is super subjective and I love indie games and I'd prefer more indies than retail releases in my Plus lineup. Velocity 2X, Dust, and Binding of Isaac alone almost justify the $30/year I paid. But no doubt games like Escape Plan/Hungry Horde/Frozen Synapse Prime don't cost nearly as much as Dragon's Crown/Arkham City/Bioshock Infinite.
Not sure how much Dragon's Crown would have cost. It sold really well, but Vanillaware is still pretty niche. The game only cost $1m to make, too, which I'm sure was dwarfed by AC and BI.

Sony is fucking smart. The transition is basically complete.

1. Rope people in with a deal too good to be true in 2012 with the IGC. Get them used to paying $50/year for a subscription.

2. At PS4 launch, require subscription for online play.

3. Slowly dial back the "quality" of free games to save money.

4. Nobody who owns a PS4 is going to leave Plus unless they're willing to abandon online gameplay.

I think saying they're dialing down the quality is not what they're doing now. Before, when they were mini/psp/fighter genre obsessed? Yeah, that was shit. I think they're just catering to a more wide audience and doubling down on their commitment to indies. I'm not downloading the games because I think they're crap, just because they don't appeal to me.

The best part about this is that people will hopefully start shutting the fuck up with the complaining. Slowly they'll A) put their money where their mouth is and actually stop subscribing or B) begrudgingly accept that they're paying $50/year for online access whether they like the free games or not.

Regardless of which they choose, they'll start paying less attention to the monthly announcements and not threadcrap every single PS+ forum and thread.

True, but I guarantee you they paid more for it then they did Hungry Horde.
That's true. I doubt they gave hardly anything for HH. The HH devs probably would have gotten a good deal if they did it for free with the advertising that PS+ brings. HH looks like a shittier version of Army Corps of Hell.

So what y'all thinking for the contest game?

Since Issac looks to take forever, I would say Frozen Synapse would be good, but MP boosting may hurt the integrity. Escape Plan seems to require multiple playthroughs with some challenge, though it seems it's quite shitty. And most here have already played Steamworld & Luft.

That leaves Hungry Horde, which is launching new and looks to have lots of collectables, but an unknown trophy list. Seems to be the best candidate of the Plus games, except that it's Vita only.

But not everyone is smart enough to make that distinction. "Does not appeal to me = crap" is how most people on the internet think.

I guarantee you we see a lot of "Worst PS+ month ever" posts this month. I'm pretty sure they're already starting. The PS Blog comments section is going to be a bloodbath.

Holy shit what a shitty Plus month. I own Steamworld and Escape Plan. Escape Plan was ok as a launch game but I tried to play the DLC not that long ago and I was like why the hell did I ever play this game? It's so awful. Luft and Issac look ok but doubt I'd spend much time on them. Hopefully Dec. will be better.

Hungry Horde doesn't look so bad.

Check your pms, sent you codes :)

So I was looking at what I need for unchartered platinum. Is crushing pretty hard to get through? I mean I know it'll be hard but like impossible or?

They're just feeling the slap, because they didn't get their precious Knack.

Sure it'd be nice to get all games for the month of Nov we all love but thats not gonna happen. I'll check out a couple of the games but I'm not going to go on the blog and bitch and moan about how the month isn't that great.

I'll always be a PS+ member so I know there are gonna be really good months and some bad months.  I can't recall a month where I passed on playing ALL of the games offered.

Sony needs to bring back the bonus 3 months promo with a year of PS+ since I got a year waiting to be redeemed.

Then they're doing it wrong.

I think you are talking about uncharted? I only need really the crushing trophy to platinum, and I got stuck a few chapters in, it isn't horrible, but it's frustrating especially when you get far but come up short getting to a checkpoint... it's doable

Makes sense.  It's already kind of a kick in the teeth to early adopters since the Vita version is less than 2 months old.  Making the Vita version free as well would have been even worse.

I remember the only part I had trouble with on normal was where
all the zombies come out of the pit and it seems like they never stop coming out, and if you die you start all friggen over
I'm not looking forward to that on crushing, but I realized if I just go back and get all my treasures and do some kill ones, I'll have almost all the trophies.

If you got frustrated on Normal at any point, Crushing probably is not for you. It is 2 levels harder than what you played before.

If you just want to get a plat to get a plat, then Sly Cooper is probably the best bet from your list. Even Portal 2 is not that bad except for a couple of the MP ones. Those arent really even tough except for finding someone to go through it with you.

You underestimate how much internet people just love to complain.

The complainers are getting exactly what they really want. They'd pay double for even "worse" lineups.

Well I had wanted to replay it before I do #2, so I just figured I could do crushing or something. It wasn't just for the plat, I just had happened to notice

Edit: oh and for portal 2, I got Tyler and Zimm helping me out so the co-op ones should be super easy for me : D
They're going to be so tired of playing with me lol

Maybe not such a bad month:

Metacritic Scores

Binding of Isaac: Rebirth [84]
Steamworld Dig [82]
Luftrausers [83]
Frozen Synapse Prime [84]
The Hungry Horde (no scores yet)
Escape Plan [71]

Average score is a 76 for the month - The Hungry Horde of course.

Escape Plan still sucks though. 71 is high for that game.

This is THE worst month evar!!!!  Y so many Vita games!?!  I am quitting PS+ because of this travesty.  Selling my PS4 because Sony only supports the Vita even though it doesnt have any games!!!!

Pixdev went missing, though. No loyalty.
I'm still waiting for my "prize package", though they responded to my PM last week (which I sent after hearing nothing from them for 2 weeks), saying they'd send it out on Monday. I can only hope they did and forgot to update me on it. Again. :???:

This is basically the same trailer starting a bit after the 1:05 mark, but there's a scene snippet at the beginning:

I believe they found us when they were googling themselves if I'm not mistaken
yea they were googling pix the cat trying to find peoples opinions and stumbled on the trophy contest... wish more devs did that, and realize there is quite the trophy community in place and to care about there trophies!

Starting to get angry with glitched or stupid trophies..

NBA 2k15 has a trophy that is easy to get, but glitched so no one has gotten it, then FIFA had to go and put in a trophy that is offline on PS3 and xbox 360, but online for PS4 and Xbox one... same name and description...

Sorry small rant on some trophies I am working on

I just want to talk about how great the evil within is today.
Tyler's certainly not going to do it, so it's up to you, me, and Velo (and whoever else played it--mpaullin?). :grouphug:

-How about that arena in Ch. 15 (plus the "final" hallway after the two Keepers), which was easily the coolest-looking part of the whole game, artistically speaking?

-How awesome are the Keepers? Answer: SO awesome.

-The Agony Crossbow is easily one of the best weapons in a third-person shooter.

-I don't think I've seen such excellent lighting in a game before TEW's.

I'm definitely going to treasure its plat when I get it.

Holy crap, Pix the Cat has an insane TT score on PS4 for an indie PSN game. I might try for all of that version's trophies sometime.
