I actually went out at midnight and got my copy last night so I could install the patch while I slept.

Of course, I got home from the dentist today to play it and achievements are broken. fuck Micro$oft

 
Just did today's challenge. $15500 on 1-2. I wanted to run at the shopkeeper but don't know how to take them out without dying, so didn't bother trying. Ended up dying to a skeleton because I didn't realize those things rise up and attack you. Oh well.

I like the daily challenge much more than the race to platinum. It just makes a lot more sense IMO as the platinum thing is a much bigger time sink. We should do OlliOlli's daily challenge next month if there's not something else that's good. Or maybe do it in a month or two if we want to take a break from the daily thing.

 
A couple months ago, watching Crunch's Yama replay took me about an hour but was probably the single most helpful thing for me to improve at the game.

Also, I'm completely addicted to watching these daily challenge replays. Knowing that impending death is looming in level x-x provides a great anticipatory thrill. Who else can I add to my friends list for Spelunky fun times? :D

You can't watch them before you run, according to Crunch. But yeah, I'd prefer the 6 of us not look at the leaderboard at all until after we've done our run.

Is that the time you streamed it and made the rest of us watch with you? The only thing more funner than watching Spelunky is watching someone watch Spelunky!

And I'll go ahead and be the one to say it.  The Fast Forward replay feature isn't nearly fast enough.  There should be like a 4x and a 8x FF as well.

Ah. Screwed up in the black market. I had it kind of made and then just failed to check for another shopkeeper. But still did better than Tyler and Ugly. Tyler will love how close our scores are! But I fully expect two people above me when all is said and done. Note to self: next time take more than one swig of rum.

It's cool, though. I love the VHS look. And it is useful. But, yeah, 4x or 8x would be great.

Halo 2 Anniversary looks amazing. Being able to switch to the old engine with a button press really helps highlight how much they did. Too bad I can't find any fucking multiplayer games.

I really do want to play the Halo games. I played Halo 2 MP back in the day and then tried the first on PC (it sucked.) Can't really justify paying $300 for an XB1 just for that, but you know they'll never port those to PC even though it would make them a ton of money. The Halo MC is one of the few selling points for the XB1 right now.

 
Man, my Daily Challenge run sucked. I think the arrow I threw bounced off a wall, hit me, then blew up a TNT crate, and on 1-1, at that.

Oh well, at least I made it past the Jungle in a standard run.

I know the ToHr game is supposed to have an iffy translation, but one of the first things the mc says is "Hmm...my nipples are weak?"

I have no complaints so far.

 
But yeah, bad translation. I know a little bit of Japanese, but even without that it's obvious that two short words doesn't turn into a full sentence. With an English dub it's easier to hide stuff like that. Still, this is a pretty common issue so no surprises there. :whistle2:k

Is it really a cuss word, though? I can't think of an alternative that sounds as good ("cool" or "impressive" just don't feel right). Also, I used it once before:

There was an Intel orc/uruk/whatever walking around that I jumped behind to stealth-kill, but he somehow noticed me and before I could complete the animation to interrogate him, I was interrupted by another orc who heard the commotion. He had brought 10-20 of his friends, so I began killing them one-by-one while keeping the Intel orc in my sights and taking care not to attack him in any way.

After killing 6-7 of the other guys, the Intel orc freaked out and started running away, whereby I stopped fighting his friends and pursued him, the remaining 10+ other guys chasing after me. I eventually caught up and tackled him to the ground, but I accidentally let go of the R1 button for a second and he broke out of my grasp. He stuck around for a few more seconds (during which I killed 1-2 more of the other guys) then ran away again. I was ticked off by this point (in a good way, though, like I was actually angry at this orc for being a coward), and I soon ran him down and got his intel while ahead of the pursuing crowd.

8-10 of the original mob still remained, so I proceeded to kill each one of them until none remained. When I killed the last one with a Combat Finisher, I got another ability point. It looked so incredibly badass when Talion sheathed his sword after that.

AC IV held it's value for a while. But otherwise I kind of agree with you. These games usually end up cheaper pretty fast. I guess with BB GCU it can still be worth it to get the games on release beat them and trade them quicky.

I am going to try and pick up Shadows of Mordor for cheap on BF. I missed out on it when it was new but all the positive reviews here and elsewhere have me interested in the game.

but then you're not really playing the game for enjoyment, you're jus trying to beat it quickly in order for max TiV.
