you can try and go for the flip using Detroit map tier one... There is a room in the back left of the building where the Gun upgrades are, there is a video online of that one. It is what I used for flip flop...

October NPDs come out today.  But the "insider" on GAF supposedly doesn't have his source anymore so I don't know if we'll get any solid numbers.

Almost for sure PS4 won, as Microsoft already released their PR "spin" about the XBoner yesterday which is a sign that they'll have nothing to boast about today besides coming in 2nd for the 10th straight month.

I doubt I will pay for Sony's TV service myself.  Very likely cost me more then just another cablebox.  

But I can see how for some it could be a good alternative to Cable TV.  Guess it will depending on pricing and what shows/content it has.

And the MS numbers are total bullshit.

they were touting sold in, which is to say they have stuffed the retail channel full of systems the last two weeks. They are not actual systems sold to consumers yet, just that your walmarts and your best buys have a fuck ton to sell over the holidays.

It is a huge money maker. Will it be in 10 years due to the younger generation as you mention, is another question entirely.

If they could get Disney on board and get a contract so they could a la carte their lineup so ESPN is an option that everyone does not have to take, it would be a game changer. ESPN and HBO are the 2 largest reasons why any people haven't cut the cord. HBO is already going to sell direct now, if ESPN follows suit, things will get interesting.

They may be BS for October, but all those consoles on the floors now will likely be gone post BF with all the deals they have to move them out. I hope I am wrong and the better tech still continues to win, but I will not be holding my breath.

Blackouts are easy to work around. I watch the Orioles on MLB.tv even though they are my home team. unblock-us.com is the service I've used. Pretty cheap and works great.

Having said that, MLB.tv was terrible this year. Lots of streaming issues (not due to unblock-us - everybody had the same issues whether using a service like that or not. I hope it's better next year).

thats my point, I did this from my college dorm, got NHL center ice online to watch Avs games. Went through a proxy site and it would work, but the streams were terrible due to the proxy, made them unwatchable...

Until I can go to my TV and watch sports through a console or tv app of my local teams, i won't be able to cut the cord.

Unblock-us isn't a proxy service. It's just a DNS. Or something. I'm not sure how it works, but it wasn't the cause of the MLB.tv issues. I had those issues even when I tried stopping use of unblock-us and just watching out of market games.
 
The more I hear about AC Rogue, the more I want to play it instead of Unity. Granted I'm not that far into it. I don't hate what I've played or anything. In fact I definitely like the improved navigation (being able to parkour down a building is a huge improvement). And the return of big buildings to climb around on are welcome since I didn't really think the colonial setting or small towns in AC4 fit the series very well. And like pete said, they sure can fit a fuckload of people on screen at one time. Not sure that that improves my enjoyment at all. 

But all in all, I am missing the swashbuckling and exploration in 4. Since Rogue seems to be doing that and has a good story, I will almost definitely check it out come black Friday. No way I'm going to Walmart though.. Anyone know if those deals will be online at all? My wife is already planning on going to Target. I'd rather pay $20 more than drive out of the way to WalMart for one game.

I thought this was pretty funny/worth posting.

So back in March some guy on GAF posted some leaks about AC Unity that he heard from someone he was sitting next to on a plane that apparently worked for Ubi.  Pretty much everything turned out to be right when the game was revealed the following month.

Anyways, someone found this in-game in Rogue I guess, poking fun at that incident and the really bad PR Ubi got after they announced they were going for 900p "parity" on Unity and everything.

The real problem with this cable issue is the internet itself really.  it is way to hard just to get internet without bundling cable or even phone.  If there was a cheap way to get just internet then people would cut cable even quicker.  I had such a hard time leaving Comcast because they wouldn't give me internet for a reasonable price with out cable.  It was either $80 for just internet, or $99 for cable and internet.

If we can fix the internet problem everything else would work out.

Were you having problems with the stream constantly stopping to adjust quality?

I had that problem, and then I found a workaround URL on the MLB.tv support forum. It was for the old player that let you set what quality you wanted. Streaming worked perfectly for me after that.

 
I'm not one to cry over spilled milk but man I need to up my Spelunky game. I'd settle for 1 killer day at this point.

As for the Assassin's Creed discussion if you've played every game in the series and finished them all that's pretty impressive. I don't think I'd ever be able to keep up unless that was 1 of like 3 or 4 games I played each year. 4 was pretty great though. I think I might end up playing the Freedom Cry DLC before bothering with Unity or Rogue.
