I don't usually use Metacritic as a measure of a game's quality; I was more intrigued by the 4.5/5 average rating (~60 reviews) on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Spy-Hunter-PlayStation-Vita/dp/B0088MVOD4/ref=sr_1_1_twi_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1416595777&sr=1-1&keywords=spy+hunter
Eh, doesn't look like anything special:

May be ok for some mindless fun, but you sound like you're trying to trim the fat. I would consider this game fat that needs trimming.

...You might have a point. I'll probably return it to Gamestop, then. Thanks.

Now I need to find something else that won't take too long to plat.

Why does most of my Vita backlog have to consist of 30+ hour plats?

Tales of Hearts R

Danganronpa 2

HDN Re;Birth1

Freedom Wars

Ys: Memories of Celceta

Ninja Gaiden Sigma+

Muramasa Rebirth

Xblaze Code: Embryo

I'm up to 43 hours in OP: UWR and I can easily see the plat taking another 5-10 hours. I wish I could freeze time for a week. :wall:
I'm playing NG right now. Not sure if you've looked at the plat requirements, but you have to get the Master Ninja rating on hard on every stage. It's not just a time-sink; you need to be good at that shit. I'm not and I'm not going to even try for it. I'll get the completion on easy and collect as many of the kill and spell trophies as I can, and try to be sure to get the scarab collection trophy. Then I'll be moving on.

Ys will require two playthroughs as well. Maybe you'll like it more than me, but I thought the game was a disappointment after Oath in Felghana.

Wait, I didn't even know you had a Vita.
Everyone should have a Vita. Everyone should get over the love affair with their damn phones and tablets and realize they blow wet chinchilla nuts for gaming (well anything that isn't strategy, card, or rpg related) and carry a Vita everywhere they go. Gaming companies should make awesome sweet games for the Vita. We still don't even know how far the Vita could be pushed graphically speaking.

I mean if you're interested in it by all means you should check it out. I think you may be similar to me in that I have a hard time getting rid of games I haven't played after I've bought them, even if I know I have better games to spend my time on. That's why I post those little lists I do here occasionally, to get other's perspectives.

If it ever bubbles up to the top of my Q, I'll let you know what I think.
Maybe you should at least hang on to it until Gator gives his opinion.

I played it enough to finish the story. I don't remember having any issues although the original camera wasn't perfect either.
I didn't play the original, so it's new to me. That might be the difference--could be that the camera and controls match the previous version perfectly, so you were already used to it.

Thanks, guys. I have until mid-January to return Spy Hunter, so I'll hold onto it for a little while longer.

Ew.

I actually platted spy hunter. It's a 3ds port, iirc. So it looks like an early psp game. It was meh overall, but it's pretty fast too I think. I tend to spread meh games out, and I was recovering from surgery when I played as well. Not sure how long it actually took me.

And the previews are infuriating, btw. I mean...I get that episodic stuff usually has previews, but why the hell won't they let you skip the things? That's just dumb. Not sure if TWAU or TWD s2 pull that nonsense or if they fixed it. I hope they put in some ability to skip those scenes.

Does Sophrosync usually do his/her run early?  If so, Tyler, let me know what the scores are so I can try to get Sophro the win.

I also should be getting LBP3 tomorrow, sweeeet.

Stop what you're doing and play Danganronpa 2. It's that good.

The trackball scroll-down functionality breaking on my mouse at work is more debilitating and challenging than I could have ever imagined.

How important is a mic for boosting the Burnout Paradise 8 person thing? I ask because I do not have another Batman Arkham Origins experience in me (and I dont mean simmias and me not hearing each other even though we had mics).
If I remember correctly it is an in game mission for everyone to meet at the stadium for that trophy, so unless people are just fucking around and not going along with the missions, a mic shouldn't be required. I got that trophy years ago without boosting it.

Is it really 30 hours? It is the only one that interests me on that list of his.
Probably more like 40. One trophy depends on how lucky you are with drops - but don't worry, it's not Uncharted 3 bad or anything. They added a bunch of extra stuff to 2 that 1 didn't have, so it takes a bit longer. One trophy is for reading this novel you unlock after beating the game, so that could either take you 2 hours if you read it, or 2 minutes if you mash X. I recommend reading it, of course, since it's damn good. ;)

And definitely don't play it without playing the first one.

Edit: Changing "UC3" to "Uncharted 3" because I was annoyed with people typing HtTYD2 like I'm supposed to know what the fuck that means.

I think there is also one for jumping another player, but that should be easy enough after we all meet at the stadium. Can always use Kik to set that up too.

I plan to play the first one first. It is very near the top of my list on Gamefly. Playing 2 will be dependent on how I like that one, but it seems like everyone I know who has played it has liked it. I have high hopes.

Hopefully. From everyone I have on my friends list only Crunchewy beat me so far.

Same. But if you guys need an eighth let me know and I'll hop on.

I'm putting a list together of some shit to get during Gamestop's BF B2G1 sale to round out my PS3 collection. I was gonna grab Castlevania: LoS for $14.99, but then I realized the LoS collection is only $20 new.

I think I may finally pick up the God of War series and the three Modern Warfare games, which are all pretty cheap now. I think I'm also gonna get Enslaved, GTA IV & Episodes from Liberty City, and Infamous. I'm interested in picking up Dragon Age Origins, but I need to look into it some more. I don't think I've ever played that type of game, so while I'm intrigued, I'm not sure if I'd like it.
