Also, I may have fucked myself out of the "don't sell anything the whole game" trophy in South Park by
exchanging American monies for Canadian monies.
Trophy guide said nothing about that disabling it, but a comment at the end of the trophy on PST.org said its the case. I have a save before this, but that's a good chunk from where I'm at now. Bullocks.

I'm almost 100% sure that I did that, cause I bought a bunch of stuff there on my run. Still got that trophy in the end.

Oh I'm saving often. Like I said, I have a save before where I did the thing I shouldn't have done. It's just that I've progressed a night and a half's worth of gaming past that point. Yeah it's not much in the scheme of things, but still something I'd rather not do.
When I played I apparently missed one weapon in the school even though I remember picking it up. Locked me out of 2 trophies. hope yours works out okay

2 things:

1.  Snakey will probably never change.  You all just need to completely ignore him.  Not put him on your ignore list ignore, you may need to report him eventually, but just stop responding to him at all.  I dont have him on ignore just so I can read his posts to remind myself to stay away from him.

2.  I have no clue what everyone is talking about in regards to Cleaner.

I just kicked Daniel Bryan's ass scotch, how u feel about that?

Ooh, a new Square RPG for consoles getting announced next Saturday, probably at Playstation Experience (Dragon Quest!??!): http://gematsu.com/2014/11/square-enix-will-reveal-new-console-rpg-isnt-remake-december

And a new PS4 Capcom game announcement soon (hopefully Playstation Experience) that will "even turn heads overseas": http://gematsu.com/2014/11/capcom-teases-new-ps4-game-announcement-coming-soon

Next Saturday is Dec. 6, numbnuts, not this Saturday.
Liked for the spoiler.

oh wise and benevolent tyler - what's the over/under on finding out about ps+ for december this week?
Part of me hopes that Sony will just announce them today with the PSN sale(s) to be both efficient and lazy before Thanksgiving.

The other part of me wonders if Sony will forget to update their blog for several days again.

Hey Velo, sorry about quitting suddenly but I did something dumb. I tried to go to the XMB real quick while you picked another challenge and the PS3 just stalled. I waited a few minutes then had to restart. It was midnight anyway so I needed to get to bed.

I still love that game.

daily essay about a game only I am playing that no one else cares about:
ac:unity still sucks. has not improved. the story is starting to drag in sequence 6, with each sequence more or less being a painfully rote 'find this guy / assassinate this guy / he was actually getting orders from this other guy! -- next sequence -- find this other guy / assassinate this other guy etc etc'.

to make it even more annoying, unlike in the past games so far the sequence challenges (for 100% sync) seem to be completely unrelated to the mission at hand. the challenges were something like 'berserk 2 snipers and assassinate 2 from hiding spots'. both easy enough, but there were literally 2 possible hiding spots to successfully assassinate from and only one was en route to the target (and that same one had to be done while tailing your target). and the snipers weren't really part of the mission, I had to run up and berserk two of them just to get the checkbox. another one has the challenge 'hop over or slide under 4 obstacles', but you had to do it while escaping a burning building and only 2 of them were in your path. I actually had to run in the opposite direction of where I was supposed to go to so I could hop over a barrel and sally forth. dumb. at least in past games they were often a measure of how succesful you were in a mission (don't get detected, keep your ally's health above 50%, blah blah).

everything is so poorly designed compared to past games it's hard to believe. even the trophies are comparitively uninteresting. and of course there's like 400 collectibles (I'm about 50% done just grabbing them as I do other things).

advice: if you decide to play this game:
- changing your outfit parts modifies what you can carry/health/range/etc. didn't figure that out until this morning.
- get all the coop/heist stuff done asap if you're planning on doing it. I'm already having trouble finding matches and it can't really be done solo (although it seems even the toughest missions can be done by 2 people).
- don't read the trophy guide, they're just wrong. renovate the theater as soon as you have access to the map and do all of the missions. go back and collect the money whenever it's full, you'll have essentially unlimited money from the start. gear up to get health and stuff and hit the coop/heist missions. collect collectibles as you go, if you save 400 collectibles for after you finished the game you'll probably want to shoot yourself.

also it's 8:20 in the morning and I just ate an oreo. my life could be worse.

Thanks for all the insight on this game, seriously. I think I'll play Rogue and skip Unity.

Really? Hmmm....I havn't seen it mentioned anywhere else either, so maybe he's fullnofnshit and you're right. I think I'm right at the last mission anyway, so it can't hurt to just finish it off and see. Thanks yo.

Thanks for tuning into another episode of Zimm Bitches & Whines For No Damn Good Reason.

You have to buy weapons in Canada, so of course you're allowed to exchange money.
Add me to the list with these guys. I think whoever commented on that trophy guide had no clue what they were talking aboot when it comes to Canada.

ETA: And that was supposed to be a quote of simmias not you.

Aside from the 100% requirements, the Sleeping Dog trophies are the same on PS4 as the PS3 version right? Seems like a fun game to get all the trophies in.

As far as I know, they are all the exact same yes. What do you mean by the 100% requirement? The DLC trophies aren't part of the plat for the game if that is what you mean.

It is a fun game, but it is a bit of a grind since there is a lot of stuff to do in it. The races are the most frustrating part to me personally since the other NPCs want to swap paint all the time. Others seem to get stuck on the fight club stuff it seems. Some just completely ignore it due to the insane number of collectibles. I am trying to mix in all the extras with the story missions so it does not become so frustrating doing the same thing for so long at the end like I did on the PS3.

Thanks y'all. Ill just go ahead and finish and see what it gets me. Probably have to go back anyway to beat the one boss in the specific outfits and buy all the remaining weapons because of lack of funds currently, and can't sell until endgame.

Despite my bitch fest there, I'm loving the game. It's funny as all getout and fun to play. I can handle the occasional slow down during transitions. One of the funnest games I've played this year.

I also just saw what you did w/ the "aboot" in your comment Gator. Well played sir.

Hmm, maybe the guy got it wrong in the guide:

To achieve 100% completion, you need to complete all of the following:

  • Story Missions (30/30)
  • Cases (4/4)
  • Favors (36/36)
  • Events (28/28)
    Drug Busts (17/17)
  • Shoplifters (4/4)
  • Hit and Run (3/3)
  • Junk in the Trunk (4/4)

[*]Jobs (50/50)
  • Tran - Car Deliveries (20/20)
  • Roland - Debt Collections (6/6)
  • Martial Arts Clubs (4/4)
  • Cop Jobs (20/20) (*Required for PS4 Definitive Edition only*)

[*]Races (17/17)
[*]Northpoint - Death by 1000 Cuts event (*Required for PS4 Definitive Edition only*)
[*]Northpoint - Shaolin Tournament event (*Required for PS4 Definitive Edition only*)
[*]Northpoint - Triad Highway event (*Required for PS4 Definitive Edition only*)
[*]Street Racer DLC Races (3/3) (Required for *PS4 Definitive Edition only*)
[*]Wheels of Fury DLC missions (5/5) - (*Required for PS4 Definitive Edition only*, Derbies & Cruises events after completing the missions and unlocking the DZS-90 are NOT required)
[*]Zodiac Tournament DLC missions (*PS4 Definitive Edition only*)

Which would be great if all that isn't required as it seems like it would add a significant chunk of time to getting the plat.

I dont remember Sleeping Dogs being any grind at all to me. It sounds like I probably mixed up different activities more than you did. Have you seen any issues with the upgrade? Is it any "better" than the original PS3 game? I really want to get it later when cheap.

Shameless Plug Alert:

There's a metric shit-ton of DVDs & Blu-Rays on the Cartwheel app today and tomorrow only.  Some only 5% off, but some over 60% off, including the Fast & The Furious 6-disc set for 76% off (DVD I think), Pitch Pefect Blu-Ray for 60% off, and the Back to the Future DVD trilogy for 57% off (and yes I know this isn't over 60% off, but its close enough for rock&roll).

Only available in store.  Stacks with Redcard and price matches.  Pure awesomeness.

Well damn, maybe I was wrong then. I just saw how the trophies were organized so I assumed it was all the same where the DLC was just extra stuff. I planned on doing it all anyway, so it isn't a big deal for me. Thanks for the info.

Yeah, I really screwed myself the first playthrough. I kind of ignored a lot of the collectibles and races and ended up having to do all that stuff at once. I am doing all that stuff as I go now and when it gets a little tiresome I just do the next story mission. Also, I did not know what some of the gold medals meant and had to grind those all out in end game too.

The environments look a lot better. The character models do not seem all that different though. It plays basically the exact same as the PS3 version. Only bad thing I can say is that it has crashed on me once.

Yeah, if no one replies to him or mentions him, he'll go away. I'm gonna stop replying to him now, that erection gif to the little girl was it for me.

That's always been my philosophy too. But I felt I had to say something last night. Back to mental ignore state.

Man, coming up with a list of gifts for people to get me is pretty hard as a CAG. I don't want to have anybody give me a PS3 game that has a chance of getting a sale because I can GS those a lot cheaper, so that leaves disc-only and niche titles...most of which I already have if I'm interested. Vita games are great, but so few are physical and having somebody buy you a digital code is a bit awkward and weird. TV shows and movies I watch on Netflix/Hulu. I don't read a lot of books these days. I can't think of any electronics I want at all aside from the Golds which have already been purchased. I already have all the kitchen stuff I need.

The digitization of media has really made it so most things I would ask for before I can get for free or way cheaper than the average family member could. I'm literally at the point where the most appealing option is gift cards for clothing stores since none of my stuff fits anymore. Clothes for gifts are just so...lame, though.  :whistle2:k

Tell me about it--I buy everything gaming-related I want for far less than most people, so I end up asking more distant relatives for gift cards at places where my credit supply is lower. My immediate family gets me stuff I otherwise wouldn't buy (e.g., 2015 calendar, clothes, etc.).

I just tell everyone what size shirt (polo and button down) I wear. I plan on getting a lot of shirts and thats pretty much it. Better than underwear or socks I say. I buy my own and have enough games thanks to CAG.

If it's a gift, which is free, what does it matter that you could get it cheaper? I don't understand this thinking. Maybe if you're talking about a spouse it makes sense when you're sharing income, otherwise it doesn't make sense to me at all.

Simple--I don't want other people to pay more for something if I know how/where to get it for less. It just wouldn't feel right to me.

Get into other hobbies as well? I love board games, so I always get a few of those. And other stuff. But my wife and I, we shop for ourselves, then give each other the gifts. It's still fun to have to wait for Xmas and open them up. We always get what we want, AND I can shop for good deals.

I have had good luck just getting Gamefly gift cards from one relative who actually believes you should get what you want.  A couple others on my wife's side who are legitimately scared to order anything on the internet still get me Gamestop gift cards every year which I just buy PSN cards with.  My parents have just started handing me cash to match whatever my sister tells them she wants.

You have to understand that the average person isn't willing to spend as much time as we do looking for deals. No sense in beating yourself up because someone bought you Shadow of Mordor for $35 when you could've bought it for $25, for example.

Because even if it's somebody else spending the money, it's money that I want to maximize the effectiveness of. Sure, I could have somebody buy me a $60 game because that's easy, but if I know they're going to spend $60 than I'd rather have them buy something that I can't pick up later for a much lower price.

If somebody were just buying me gifts and I had no input that'd be a different story. When I'm saying "This is what I want," though, there's an implication that the money is being spent at my discretion and so I want to spend it wisely.

I'm kind of with Vig though. They could have gotten me a $30 gift card instead, I could have gotten the game and had $5 left over. Better yet, get me 3 months of Gamefly and Ill play Mordor and about 10 other games to go with it :)

Oh cool, this GTA V install really does take forever. I was hoping it was just the thread retards bitching about stupid shit again and over exaggerating, but nope, it's true!
