Yet again, Sony is content on letting me keep my almost $50 in PSN money sitting in my account. How about some deals on shit that hasn't been discounted yet or that has received prior discounts but not for a long time?

Yeah I will. If they discount the Deathspank sequels down to $7.50 again or some of the currently $10-15 games get dropped to $5-7.50 for a week or two.

That's about my top price for a downloadable game anymore($7.50) unless it's something I've played forever(Mortal Kombat) or something from a developer/publisher I actually trust to not make a shittastic game.

While I agree with gettinmoney that you will probably hold on to your credit for far too long, I also agree with you this time. None of those games are the least bit interesting to me. I was excited with the Play promo last year as one of the best PSN games out, Renegade Ops, was offered. The games this year are no where near the same quality as last year. Of course this is my own personal opinion as I am sure someone likes these games, it just aint me.
 
Doubt i'm getting in on the Play promo again this year.....last years seemed better overall, and i still barely played any of the games lol (Street Fighter got the most play time).

Guess i'll just be buying Counterstrike

I would much rather have 50% off games that are a few months old (like I Am Alive mentioned above) than 20% off new releases, but that's just me. 20% off just isn't enough to get me to cave in and buy the game right away (except for Malicious, which looks really awesome and I would have bought at full price anyway.)

Unless I'm mistaken, don't we already get both? There's going to be a 50% off sale this week for PS+ in addition to 20% off launch deals. I don't get why it needs to be an either/or situation.

And yes, you're right we still do get both, the Summer sale provided A LOT of good first time sales at 50% off. But the highlights of this post were 6 games with 20% off on Day 1 and no mention of other sales. So that's why I mentioned it now.

EDIT: Found it in "The Games" section of the update, thanks for bolding it. With this new information, both my comments are unfair criticisms. Sorry, I'll learn to read EVERYTHING in the updates from now on. I'm excited to see what ends up on sale as well.

It's right at the end of the "The Games (PlayStation Store Promotion)" where it says:

"In addition, the sale will feature 50% discounts on select titles for Plus members too."

I'd imagine that it's for sports games if I understand the point of the promotion.

Thanks, my bad again on missing that line. Maybe Slam Bolt Scrappers will fall under "sports" games, I'd love to check that game out.

Unless you have absolutely nothing else to play, I dont see why you need to pay full price for I Am Alive. It is an average game at best if you beleive most of the reviews on it. I beleive the reviews and it screams "sale game" to me. Again, I would wait if you have other things to do.

I got it for 10% off at Best Buy. If you sign up for their Gamers membership thing, an introduction packet in the mail gets you 10% off any DLC title, as well as buy 2 get 1 free used, and new, coupons.

And for what it's worth, I actually enjoyed the game. It's not great, but it is fun.

Also, where is Tony Hawk HD!

From a response by Morgan Haro in the Sony blog post:

"There will be a handful of 50% discounts on some the content from “The Games” sale for Plus members. So games like Hot Shots Golf on PS Vita, Fight night Champion, and NBA2k12 will be 50% off for Plus. Check out tomorrow’s Store Update for a list of all the games."
 
How long do the PS+ sales usually last? I can't find anywhere that lists when the 20% off Rainbow Moon sale will end. Will it most likely be over tomorrow?

As long as Sony doesn't get hacked again and my account gets wiped out to where they claim I have no credit, I'll just keep holding onto it till I find a sale price I like. Right now, there just ain't shit that's cheap enough for my liking. If they had more fun lil $5 titles like World Gone Sour on the store and not quite as many $10-15 or MORE titles(especially those MSRP priced digital copies of full retail titles:roll:) then I'd probably have no credit left by now.

Thanks for updating it! Rainbow Moon definitely looks like my cup of tea, but I'm not sure I need another time-sink in addition to Diablo 3 and the steam summer sale... at least I'll have a bit longer to decide.

Just curious, if you got $50 in PSN, doesn't it mean Sony already got your money? It just means you haven't actually gotten anything back for that $50 yet. :lol:

Rainbow moon is a lot of fun, really enjoying it. Couple things though, enemy poison is way over powered. If you're grinding on low level characters that poison they can kill you quick, antidote is cheap but your recovery slots are limited and expansion scrolls are expensive. Also doing side quests and main story when I got to the guys basement, I was getting my ass handed to me on normal mode, so I had to grind my characters up. Money is pretty hard to come by unless you're grinding, and the Rainbow Pearls are only awarded to the character that does the finishing blow on an enemy, this causes 2 problems, because your high level character finishes more enemies the gap between this character and your lower characters increases quickly, and second, it makes grinding a little more tedious cause you have to hit "defend" on your more powerful characters every turn and since they have quicker speed they get 2 or 3 turns before your weaker character gets 1, wish there was an option to sit characters and solo the one you need to level. Other than those minor nitpicks, I'm loving this game.

I actually came back to say somethin like that. I bet Sony is content with you leaving it in your wallet because that money is already theirs and if you don't buy anything with it, they don't have to pay any of it out to developers.

Yeah. I suppose they already have my money. Although I have never and will never fund my PSN account with anything but prepaid cards. And we all know where I more than likely bought those from(BB w/ game trade credit:evil:).

Just curious...do you have $50 in your PSN wallet? How have you never mentioned this before?

Also, while you're at it could you please letnus know your stance on PS+ and whether or not you think it's worth it?
 
Comic-Con had some free 1 month codes for PS+, so I got a few. I kept trying to trade/buy for codes but never found anyone willing to give them up, and I gave up and bought the stuff I wanted at the time, so now I don't have anything in particular I'm looking at. I hope the sale tomorrow has some good stuff.

I REALLY hope they add new DW avatars too.

Hey, Frisky. Have you heard anything about Borderlands 2 coming to PSN extremely early on? I saw some tweets from the CEO of Gearbox, but I want some hard confirmation and dates. D:

Also, where do you see the free Jak and Daxter avatars for Plus? I can't find them.

Thought I'd bump this since it's Tuesday.

Anybody thinking about getting Dyad? It got pretty good reviews and it does have a Platinum, but $12 (PS+) is still too rich for my blood.
 
I might get it, though I wouldn't mind trying out a demo (if they release one) first. It looks interesting, but for the higher priced downloadable games, I'd like to try them out before flat-out buying them.
