Hey bud, how are the camera and controls? I take it the difficulty level is pretty flippin high?

I think I'm gonna have to pick this game up and $7.99 seems like a decent price.

Also played Dyad demo and I'm tempted to pick it up. Those visuals on it are amazing and can see how you would need to replay the levels a lot. I bet the later levels are out of control.

I beat my first boss in Malicous, which was the fist boss. I imagine that the combat gets a bit better as this first fight was a lot of flying around the level shooting and killing enemies before I figured out how I can actually damage the boss. You need to release your aura (basically going super saiyan without the physical change), lock on, and try to dodge the boss' big attacks.

This level was basically a form of Dynasty Warriors within a much smaller level with a big boss roaming around as he tries to attack you. You get aura from killing enemies around the level that can be used to for more powerful attacks, repairing yourself, and using the aura release to be able to take down the boss. There's a time limit for each level and you're graded on a few aspects, so there are reasons to not mess around if you want good ranks.

The overarching game is like Mega Man since you're just presented with a number of stages that I think you can play in any order with a big reward for beating the boss of that stage.

I'm still torn on which of the Atlus titles to get since I only got $20 for a PSN card.
I've narrowed it down to these titles:
Hexyz Force
Riveria
Persona 3 Portable (Have Persona 3 FES and might just wait for the UMD version to go down.)
Class of Heroes
Crimson Gem Saga

Cut out the last two unless you're a fan of old-school dungeon crawlers and mediocre RPGs respectively.

I really enjoyed Crimson Gem Saga, well worth the price for an old-school RPG.

Play Me or find yourself fast becoming the prey of punks.

Not sure if this has already been discussed, but it looks like a PSASBR beta might be coming for PS+[/QUOTE]Oh man, PLEASE let this be true. I've been looking forward to the game, so hopefully there'll be a decent amount of characters to play as if this beta is true.

Speaking of PS+, I gotta check to see how much longer I have until I need to re-subscribe.

Aside from the fact it's portable & you can play as a female which offers some plot/social link differences, it feels like a downgrade at times, mainly no character models while outside Tartarus, which makes it feel like a visual novel at times. If you need more info on what P3P has/doesn't have over FES, check here. It's still a great game (it's the version I have), but if you have one of the console versions, you're better off in the long run.

Also, any opinions on Malicious? A shame there's no demo. I really wish more PSN-exclusive games would get demos, especially on the same day as the full game.

In that case, I say pick up Riviera for SURE. You really don't want to miss out on that. Other than that, as someone above posted, the last two aren't really that good, and if you have FES, you should just pick up Hexyz Force for your second game.

Come to think of it...I need to go buy another $20 card now, I don't have enough for Hexyz Force either and I always wanted to try it, except it went out of print. If I'm going to buy a Vita anyways in the future...might as well get digital.

If you want an easy/simple game then pick Hexyz Force...

Not counting P3P since you have FES for ps2, I suggest Crimson Gem Saga and Riveria if they have to be atlus...if not...PICK UP LEGEND OF MANA! :D

I heard good things about Crimson Gem Saga.

Yeah, I might hold off on Persona 3 Portable and play FES first since FES is in my backlog.

Yeah, I missed out on the GBA version of Riviera. So I figured at that price, why not?

Cool, I might look into Hexyz Force. I almost bought Legend of Mana long ago, hopefully the PSN version goes on sale soon.

Looks like it is going to be Hexyz Force, Crimson Gem Saga, and Riviera. Almost exactly $20. Just noticed that lots of these are really expensive in UMD format. Thanks everybody!

Legend of Mana is worth WAY more than the $5.99 psn price, I got it for like $15 at a random cd shop a long time ago not ever hearing about it. Changed my life, I go to church of mana now.

Wow GTA3 on PS2 Classics. As many others mentioned, I'd much rather see them all HD'ified and thrown on a collection disc.

Also, considering Sound Shapes and Papo & Yo for what ends up being about $10.50 each. If I had a Vita I'd probably do it for sure.

EDIT: Found the fix on youtube, but thanks anyways my fellow cags!

Hey guys, off topic but need serious HELP.

I tried changing out the hard drives to a fellow cag's recommended blue scorpio 1TB.

I did like the videos said, but here is the thing, mine was different. By that I mean the hard pulled straight out instead of pushing it over to the side. It even was flipped around on the HDD cover it opened on the opposite side.

Now when I restarted my ps3 it first said to connect controlled with USB and then press the PS button, I did that then said

"System software cannot be run correctly. Press the PS button to try to reset the system.

If the system cannot be restarted, the system partition of the system storage must be reformatted and you must reinstall the system software. Connect storage media that contains update data of version 4.20 or later, and then press the START and SELECT buttons at the same time."

I do as asked and then says...

"No applicable update data was found. Connect storage media that contains update data version 4.20 or later, and then press the START and SELECT buttons at the same time"

I do that and then says the same thing.

WTF?! HELP ME CAG's!!

It's an 80 gb fatty model btw. But as I said the HDD opens from the left and the HDD pulls straight out instead of to the left and out.

@stealofadeal Make sure the USB stick is formatted in FAT file system. Then place the update file inside a folder named UPDATE. Then put the UPDATE folder inside a folder named PS3. Make sure the PS3 folder is on the root of the USB drive. Meaning that's the first thing you see when you open it on a computer...

I almost never buy anything off the PSN any more because I get free MS points through bing rewards. Well I tried to go buy something and WTF, the first time I log into the shop in a month and it's down for maintanence. Its been going on for hours. WTzf don't they want my money...?

it's a planned maintenance, and was announced before it went down.

When is it back up?

Considering I post on message boards about games and I didn't know, I wonder how many other gamers also didn't? Their message should give the estimated time that service will be restored.

Thanks a ton! I just found it before I read it and you're spot on!

LOVE CAG and the CAGS!! :applause::)

Also, here's my question RELATED to the thread... anyone know if they will release (disk or PSN) Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2 (possibly the.. Unchained Memories?) I know the new one comes out soon (On 3DS only :( ...) but now I've got the itch to play those!

There was a rumor around E3 about a HD re-release, but there hasn't been any confirmation yet.

All we know is that the new Kingdom Hearts game you're referring to, Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, is going to be the last side-game in the series before they continue with the main numbered series and release Kingdom Hearts 3. Now the team that works on the main KH games was working on FF Versus XIII and there are now rumors that Square is letting Versus XIII die rather than announce it's cancellation. That was until Square-Enix CEO Yoichi Wada confirmed that the game was in fact still in production.

But I'm with you my friend, I've been craving some KH for a while and I really don't wanna buy a 3DS just to satisfy that urge. I'm still hoping someday Birth by Sleep will be playable on my Vita :whistle2:(

Good luck with that. For as bad as I'd like to see the prior GTA games re-done in HD, I imagine that Rockstar likely wouldn't be able to get the rights to use all of the music in the three main PS2 GTA titles.

As such, unless they allowed for custom soundtracks(like the original Xbox let ya do), then the games would feel incomplete to me. Although GTA III had some of the suckiest music(at least the rock station did imo) of the three proper PS2 GTA titles.

Bummer, I was hoping I missed the announcement somehow. and I really hope they do a HD re-release because Japan has those Final Remixes on PS2! Stupid regions messing up my buying Japanese games *grumbles*

Totally agree on the 3DS part. Glad to hear at least some rumblings of a KH3! I haven't played any of the side storied games but have heart they are great.

GTA 3 and War of the Monsters being released as PS2 classics this week. Obviously GTA3 is great, but War of the Monsters is also amazing. I spent so many hours of my adolescence playing that game. Definitely check it out.

War of the Monsters!?!?!?!!!!!! I'm getting that!
I want to play GTA3 again but I have so many other games to finish but WotM is great for pick up and play!

I'm not particularly excited for KH:3D so I can hold on getting a 3DS. Blame the other side-games mostly Re:Coded

I'm in a hospital with my wife right now, so if anyone knows: are the psp star oceans on PSN? Any hope of Vita transfer? Or is one of the a ps1 classic?

Bored and that just popped in my head. Never played the first two.

GTA3 is coming out, so they managed to work out the music licenses there. Vice City was also listed on the ESRB website for release on PSN at some point, which covers two-thirds of the trilogy.

Just got 20$ PSN Credit, trying to decide between Persona 1 and Persona 2 (Not sure if i can get both at the moment).

Suggestions on which to get? (Length or difficulty and such), either that, or i might finally get Virtua Tennis 4 lol

Sorry for caps, but something like that would make me super excited.

I'd recommend Persona 2, if only because first-person views annoy me. :p

Yeah i noticed the FPV in dungeons, but i also love games like Etrian Odyssey (Which use that view).

Otherwise, i heard P2 references the P1 story a lot, is that true? If so i might just get both so i can have the whole trilogy

I really wish Rockstar would've done an HD collection and maybe added multiplayer to it or at least put in the custom soundtracks thing like the Xbox versions had.;)

I wonder if releasing it as a PS2 classic keeps the original license in tact vs an HD collection is looked at as a new game and needs a new license.
