I hate to bring this back up again, but I fail to see how you can't understand the simple concept of being able to make a statement without talking about yourself. Just because I say something doesn't mean I'm talking about myself. Did you get good grades in school or were you always just worried about "gettin money"?

I understand it fine. I also understand it's a stupid fuckin argument. You used the phrase "slap in the face." You weren't quoting anyone. It came from your brain. Therefore, you feel it's a slap in the face. Whether you are part of the group or not is irrelevant. You were the one who made the statement and used the phrase.

I used the phrase IN REFERENCE to another group. You seriously cannot comprehend that?

So, for example, someone loses their house in a flood. I'm not allowed to say "sucks for them" because I can't say that without talking about myself. Or I'll use the DirecTV/Viacom contract dispute that just happened. Myself, being a DirecTV customer, just lost 26 channels because of this dispute. My friend, who has Dish, isn't allowed to say it was a slap in the face to all DirecTV customers? Because clearly he's talking about himself if he was the one who said it. Nice logic you got there, buddy...

Hahaha, you're the one that doesn't get it. This argument isn't about you not being able to speak on behalf of another group. No one would complain about you saying that it sucks for the people who lost their house in a flood because it would suck. The reason you would say "sucks for them" is because if you were in their situation, you would think it sucks. It's called empathy.

Check out the demo for StarDrone Extreme, which is $4. There's also MotorStorm RC and Treasures of Montezuma Blitz, which are both free to play. The $15 bundle for Super Stardust Delta is also a great game.

if you're into psp games/jrpgs you should check out the atlus sale. persona 3 portable and hexyz force are pretty solid. there's a bunch more cheap psp games, but i'd have to pull my vita out to go through the list.

I'd seen Montezuma but wasn't impressed. I forgot about Super Stardust! That will probably be my first buy.

I don't get the hate either, if you don't like them you can simply ignore them, and if you do they are there, why do the people that dislike them have to vent it so much on forums? It in no way changes the game for the worse so why do you give a shit?
 
I was enjoying all entitled butthurt rants :(

But yeah, cheap games for Vita. Good job in getting Tales of Space. I initially dismissed it because it didn't look nice aesthetically but I gave it a chance and I love it. Get the free AR games if you haven't. They're not substantial but interesting. I don't remember the names but theres a cliff diving one, a fireworks one, and a soccer one. Pulzar and Table Top Tanks that are pretty good. They're not that substantial either but they're fun and worth the cheap price (like $2 I think). Other than that, Stardust is great.

I'm hoping for a drop or sale on Escape Plan too. It looks good but not $15 good.

I know you mentioned the PS Store, but you just missed a bunch of sales on physical games at gamestop. 10$ Mortal Kombat and Modnation Racers, but you can still get Wipeout and Hot Shots Golf from Walmart for a $20, probably the 2 of the best games on the system imo.

As for the PS Store, Motorstorm RC is pretty fun too for a freebee and Treasures of Montezuma Blitz is a fun Bejeweled Blitz style game, while not the greatest game you can't beat the price.

I'm dyin for a drop on Escape Plan. I was hopin it'd come around the time we got the $0.25 DLC sale but not yet. I also definitely suggest trying the demo for Stardrone before buying it. I thought it sucked.

Also, if you're new to PSP, there are tons of games in the $9.99 range that are really fun.

I bought Stardrone on the PSN for both systems. It's not the best on the Vita but I liked it a lot on the PS3. The PS3 controls were a lot better then focusing on the touch controls. Did you try the PS3 demo?

That's why I specifically mentioned the PS Store. I used GS credit that I had just burning a hole in my wallet to buy every single one of the games you mentioned besides Wipeout. Thanks though.

yeah it was a vote between xenogears and ct, and ct won, even with it being the one with the ps1 remix with loading times before every battle. oh wellz. but yeah, not yet or i would have picked it up again.
Probly one of my favorite square stories. Krelian is boss. so if Fei. and Ramses... and Miang. so many. and Citan... especially with that sword. zone
 
Yep. The fanboys chose Chrono Trigger over Xenogears during that gamer's choice thing earlier this year. Just waiting patiently until Sony/SquareEnix decides to put that game on sale.

lol. chill out bro. i think he meant the people that like ct, even if they weren't going to buy or play it, still voted for ct. probly cuz maybe xenogears is less known/popular/beloved? but that the technical side of things ct wasnt as good as the 'fanboys' remember the snes version. i dont think he was bashing ct fanboys, he probly is one too. i know im a 'fanboy' of both, but i think those that knew the issues the ct version had(not even major issues, but there is that slowdown before battles that wasnt in the original version) compared to the xenogears being a direct ps->ps3 port, unless the snes->ps->ps3 that ct did. i dont know tho, late, go to bed ;)

I've been considering buying Persona 3 for my Vita as well. I mean, $9.99 isn't bad at all, as I just bought both Patapon 2 and Battlefront 2 for about the same amount. I just don't know if I should bite on this or not. You've gotta consider the fact that Persona 4 is coming to the Vita this fall.

Any other recommendations for PSP games guys? I never owned a PSP and got a Vita earlier this year. I'd absolutely love to get Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep but Square Enix apparently doesn't want my money.

Lunar: Silver Star Harmony, Brave Story, all the Ys games, both God of War games, Valkyrie Profile, Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, FF4, Half Minute Hero, Fate Extra, Tactics Ogre, Dissidia 012, the GTA games, MGS Peace Walker, Valkyria Chronicles 2, Riviera, both Phantasy Star Portables... Definitely pick up Persona 3. It is a great game.
 
I always love a good argument, even if it is stupid. At the end of the day gettinmoney is right. The "slap in the face" comment is overused by people on the interwebs.

And this is a good thread to have off topic comments anyway since Frisky keeps the OP updated so well there really isnt a need for comments in this thread at all. Even without the arguing, the only other comments in this thread are peopl asking for opinions on games or asking questions that the OP already answers.

So what I am saying is, everything seems to be off topic anyway so it doesnt matter if we have some "friendly banter".

pretty much everything simmias said with a big plus by mgs peacewalker, tactics ogre, and phantasy star portable 2.

aedis eclipse - 8.99 - an interesting take on srpgs. has a bunch of secret characters, 3 stories, and everything carries over from each story(except for the secret characters that you have to find each story.)
final fantasy tactics++++ - 9.99 - srpg
hexyz force - 7.49(til the 31st) - rpg
gods eater burst - 19.99 - monster hunter like rpg

exactly. I like CT. Played it on the SNES when I was a kid. Bought it when it was released on the PSX and PS3. Got it on the DS and I even got it for my iPhone. Always have that nostalgia feeling. Xenogears was something that I haven't played in a long time but $10 is too steep of a purchase when I got other games to play. It's a typical CAG mentality. That's why I hope a sale of Xenogears will come soon enough since I have other games to play and finish.
 
Trying to buy God Of War Collections, but it doesn't doesn't show up when I look under the Discount section of PS+, where everything else is showing up just fine, including GOW: Orgins Collection. I can see and purchase the games separately, but there's no option to buy them together. Even weirder, when i search for the Collection, it does pop up, buit when selected it tells me "this content is not available on this account" or something to that effect.

Any suggestions guys?
 
Just a quick question, but does anyone here recommend the Monkey Island series? I remember loving this game back in the day and didn't know if it was worth it to get the series and I know it's not on sale....but I'm bored. If they ever do Day of The Tentacle I won't hesitate in buying that!

Tales of Monkey Island is quite good, although I only played it on the PC, I don't know how it controls on PS3. If you like the original games, this will scratch that itch (although not quite as well as the originals do.)

Look under New Arrivals, which is where they put the games/discounts/etc that are new for PS+ each week.

Awesomebots patch July 27th, DLC characters 9.99 for both(yep, it was the leaked chicsurfer coco and catkiller alien mech thing derpl).
9.99 seems a bit much considering ps+ got it for free and the base game was 9.99, i know ill wait til a sale hopefully someday.

seems like alot of tweeks, looks like alot of changes to Leon and Voltar.
Voltar changed his bots alot, like no more forcefields but now blinding, and now they explode, etc. idk.
 
you are totally right. i read the 9.99 at the bottom about the base game and thought that. free is so much better. awesome.
(when i was talking to my wife about this i was like, that doesnt make any sense for 9.99, lol, thanx frisky!)

Haven't played Tales from Monkey Island (despite owning them for sometime...) but I played the HD re-releases of the first two and they were freaking awesome (never played anything in the series before they came out). I'd definitely recommend em.
 
I still have the remakes of Monkey Island on my HDD. Downloaded them like 2 years ago and havent gotten to them due to 40 game backlog. I keep thinking of all the games I want to play that I downloaded a long time ago, and I keep getting more and more free games from plus that add to the backlog!

I must have 30 PSN games still to play, a lot from plus sub and some from sales.

I purchased all 5 episodes of Tales from Monkey Island when PS+ had them on sale awhile ago for $5. I liked the series for the time I spent on it.
If you like going for trophies just beware that a lot of them are easily missed. I got 100% on all episodes but had to go back to get some trophies that I missed.
It's a fun story as long as you either enjoy point and click games or fan of the series.
