Newbie rank?

Just sync them on your ps3 to get them back. Raptr ranks your trophies in their own way. Just having getting a few for a listed game will.do it

They rank you on how long and how many achievements/trophies you get for a game, so the lowest rank you get for barely doing anything with a game.

I'm trying to find a reason not to pre-order Sound Shapes but can't really come up with one. I have until the update next Tuesday to take advantage of the discount and free theme, correct? If there's not a decent review of the game up by Monday I'll probably just say screw it and get it.
Sucks that you need a facebook account to win with the Raptr contest.
When I looked it had a tiny (or log in) link under the facebook button

If you have a Vita it's an easier purchase. This game looks like it will be worth it. Having the cross play between the 2 platforms plus 2 Platinums for double dippers is an instant buy for me. Sound Shapes looks very promising.

Also the theme is very clean and classic. It's the first time I removed my Dark Souls dynamic theme. I like the look of it.

I wouldn't mind pre-ordering Sound Shapes, but I can't take advantage of the PS+ deal since I can only have PS+ on my master account (I made a PSN account when I was about 16 or so (about 5 years ago), when I got my PSP, not aware of the limitations/restrictions when I got my PS3 last year) which means I can't have the Vita version on my Vita since that uses my sub, which is what I normally use. I SERIOUSLY wish Sony would just allow me to take a sub account & turn it into a Master Account so I don't have to keep switching from my sub/main account to the master/PS+ account just to get certain things or add money. I know Microsoft allows you to do this, considering I did it back when I originally got my 360.

You have until 8/13 to get the PS+ discount, but only until 8/6 to pre-order and get the theme. So if you can forgo the theme, you can wait for some reviews.

Also, if I had a PS Vita I would for sure be getting it. It really looks awesome, but because of my backlog I've forced myself not to buy any digital games unless they're 50% off or more.

Greetings fellow cheap ass gamers, I'm interested in purchasing Two Worlds 2 Velvet GOTY edition on PS Store for $9.99, HOWEVER. Gamersgate.com has a sale (also $9.99) for the normal GOTY edition. I have spent all morning looking into the exact DLC that is included in each, would anyone be kind enough to break it down for me? Plain and simple, do you think I swing for the PC GOTY edition on gamersgate, which may not include the Multiplayer Map Pack 1 for $19.99; or the PS3 Velvet GOTY edition on the PSstore 8/7, which I have heard has worse graphics, and from the game trial I played, the screen was noticeably darker from PC gameplay i've watched online, even with gamma turned way up.

*The Defense DLC is included in both
*The Pirates of the Flying Fortess is included in both
*The one on gamersgate also has supposed "bonus content" however it does not list anything included, so I overlooked that.

Two Worlds 2 Velvet Edition is the GotY edition. There's no differences graphically between the regular or Velvet Edition version.

I'd recommend avoiding Two Worlds 2 though, or atleast get a second, third, and fourth opinion on whether you should buy it. It might look good from videos, but it's not a good game at all. It has everything you'd want in an open world RPG, but when the gameplay is as bad as it is, it really doesn't matter.

If you like open world games, and don't have a backlog, get TW2. If you have even one open world game you haven't played yet, get that instead.

I was asking if there was a difference between the PC version and the PS3 version graphic-wise. But I'm mainly concerned that once I buy one edition, the other edition will have gameplay/content i'm missing out on.

There is almost always going to be a huge difference between the PC version and the console version of any game graphic wise.

I'm glad I didn't bite when PSN had Two Worlds II Velvet listed for $24.99 a couple of weeks ago. As long as I can clearly see the action on screen, graphics don't really matter to me. Give me a game with sub HD resolution at 60fps over highly detailed graphics that struggles to maintain 30fps any day.

oh cmon, for $10 two worlds 2 isn't bad at all. especially with the dlc.
and it's the only open world adventure game (counting skyrim, dragon's dogma, amalur/reckoning, and kinda kinda dark souls) that has real multi player.

yeah it's a budget game, but a fun one. and really quirky, like my first magic i came up with was raining anvils on the enemies heads. and my guy sounded like bale as batman.

i ended up with a killer necromancer that would shoot like 3 triple shot fire balls that would spawn hell wolves that would then heal me. i remember that was awesome. it was a big glitchy tho and had to restart game cuz a quest/trophy locked up on me. and finding all 25 dungeons was pretty tough. peace cags!
I'm glad I didn't bite when PSN had Two Worlds II Velvet listed for $24.99 a couple of weeks ago.
When I saw it at $24.99 I said I would wait for it to drop a little bit lower before I bought it. Then it shot up to $34.99 and I told myself there would be no way I'll buy it unless it drops to $10 or less. Now it's going on sale for $9.99

Very crafty Sony. Very crafty . . .

I finally got around to trying out The Expandables 2 demo and the major problem that I have with it is that it's impossible to tell where you're shooting. There's no general laser sight for every weapon to tell what you're aiming at and the weird lock-on targetting isn't very good to make up for it, so it's like they really went after action movie-style gun fights where everybody are dumping tons of bullets and very few ever hit the targets. If you do manage to hit enemies, they require a lot of shots to go down, which means more imprecise shooting to take them out. I've even run into the awkward action movie parody situation where I'm two feet from a group of enemies and every shot misses, which is crazy for a shooter. If that worked the way it should, I could see it being at least a decent game.

Games
The Walking Dead Episode 1: A New Day
The Walking Dead Episode 2: Starved for Help

So WOTS 4 is DD ONLY? And for $40? Meh and MEH!! It took me forever, but I finally found WOTS 3 last fall on Amazon for $17 SHIPPED. Hopefully some other region will get a physical format version of the game on PS3 and put it on sale at some point.
What can I buy for a dollar on PSN?
The 5 in 1 mini is pretty good for $1. It has pool(top down view), solitaire, a clone of Breakout/Arkanoid, a matching/memory type game and one of those 15 tile games all in the pack for that dollar.

I've played the matching, solitaire and pool and dabbled with the tile game and Breakout clone a bit. I've gotten my moneys' worth a bunch of times over already with it.

It's called 5-in-1 Arcade Hits.

of course the week after i get the $20 walking dead sub. only would have saved $5, but that's the cost of world gone sour. doh, oh wellz.
im revisiting re4. totally could have had more trophies. got all bottlecaps last night. shot a bunch of axes thrown at me, that could have been a trophy. or killing # of birds or snakes. so many missed trophy chances, oh well...

http://www.ps3trophies.org/game/sound-shapes/trophies/
all silvers, 1 gold and 1 plat. get a silver for each level beat... idk, lil more creativity? but i havnt played game, so i have no idea...
im still grateful for the plat tho... im even considering getting expendables 2 cuz if i get all four, it's only like $8... but that might still be over priced, but 19 trophies... idk

Sound Shapes might be a little tougher than we might expect to qualify for the trophy. Maybe there's a rank to get to get the trophy but I could be totally wrong. It will be nice to play Sound Shapes on my PS3 & Vita.

I was reading how people were talking about how easy the Dyad trophies were going to be to unlock. Then people played it and that's another story.

I'll pre-order Papa & Yo on Tues. Looks like only a $3 credit but I will take that plus the PS+ discount. I just wish Sony had more games on the list but can wait for future sales.

Pretty sure you have to beat the game before you unlock death mode.

You're welcome. Like I said, just the memory game, pool and solitaire by themselves made it well worth it for me. Not to mention that I was able to also load it up on my PS3 and play on my 32" HDtv.:D

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2012/08/06/never-stop-playing-with-playstation-collections/

Sony's releasing a few new retail collections for $39.99 containing all of the God of War games and all of the Infamous games. The latter specifically includes Infamous: Festival of Blood and maybe the DLC for 2 from what the description says. The God of War Saga offers codes for the Origins Collection.

Edit: Festival of Blood is also a voucher, so there goes that opportunity to get PSN games on disc. They do confirm that they'll have PSN bundles for this stuff in the store on 8/28, which may mean that God of War III is coming to the PS Store soon.

Starting at $29.99. They said that GoW and inFAMOUS will be $39.99.

I hope. I have no idea why R&C is releasing at $29.99, but I'm not complaining. In fact, I pre-ordered it (with Amazon credit) to support that price point.

Also, not sure if it was mentioned here, but for the GOW Collection, the two PSP games (Ghosts and Chains) will be a voucher as well, rather than be on a disc.

Just in case you missed it, R-Types and R-Type Delta will be delisted from the PS Store with tomorrow's update, so if you want either game before they're gone, now's your chance to get them.
