How much was it there? I just picked it up on Android for $1.99. It seems like you guys get better sales and more good games for free. I know some iOS games have multiplayer but the Android versions don't. We get shortchanged often.

Magic spells should not pause the game. More powerful spells should take more time to cast. And the spells aren't cosmetic. Certain enemies are weak and strong vs various elementals. Spells like the twister that take up the whole screen are freaking awesome. And levitating over the battlefield with a mage rocks.

 
The spells that take up the whole screen are awesome in the way that taking a dump and admiring your huge turd is awesome. For the non-dumpers, it's not so awesome.

The elemental strengths and weaknesses are a shallow attempt to add depth to the game. The game's predecessor, D&D: Mystara utilizes magic in extremely useful ways. Magic missiles will knock down flying enemies instantly including bosses, you can turn invisible, you can heal, you can turn enemies into frogs, you can cast holy light to instantly vanquish undead, trolls can only be killed with fire, gargoyles can only be hurt with magic, etc. The list goes on.

 
Is infamous First Light supposed to have a ps+ discount? Did it have a discount for a limited time but doesn't anymore? what's the deal with that?

What is the deal in general with First Light?

I haven't looked into it much. How is it going to differ from the main game and what kind of powers will Fetch have that we didnt in Second Son?

i haven't played SS yet so i'm trying to stay unspoiled... but FL has it's own platinum so I'm assuming it's a pretty sizable game on it's own.

I don't know if you consider discussion about a game's length to be a spoiler, so I'll mark it as such just in case without going into any other details about the story:

SS can be played to completion fairly quickly, perhaps 10-15 hours if you want to 100% it. If the expansion is only a fraction of the content then you'll most likely be able to finish it in a single sitting or two.

I am not spoilering this because time is a silly thing to be spoiled by hahah

I just checked and apparently they have come out and said it will be 4-5 hours long. The combat will also be much more faster and melee oriented with Fetch's Neon powers.

Definitely not worth $15 for me right now. Hopefully we will get a good sale later down the road.

For the record I really do appreciate decently sizable expansions like this, it is just hard for me to justify $15 on that little amount of game time. Money is tight right now and there are quite a few big names coming out in the next few months that will yield far more game time per dollar spent.

Making sense of the action when an AoE spell is going off can be tough on the Vita but I've never had a problem with it on the PS3. I just take note of where I am standing when it starts and keep in mind that the enemies aren't going any where while taking damage from it. And there are plenty of times in the game in which the AoE's are quite helpful to have around.

As far as comparing the magic system to that in Mystara, not enjoying something in one game because you are comparing it to something in another game keeps people from not enjoying a lot of really good games. No magic system in ANY game has ever come close to what was present in Baldur's Gate 1 and 2. It was the pinnacle and those games came out how many years ago? And, yea, sometimes I wonder why nothing since those two games (and their expansions) has been able to replicate that experience but constantly bitching that each game can't live up to that isn't going to stop me from enjoying an experience that is meant to be different.

Soooooo...lemme get this right: If we have a Vita but no PS4 and snagged the game from the Instant Game Collection, we automatically get upgraded to the Giant Edition AND get the game via crossbuy? Or do we get the vanilla version via crossbuy because that is technically the version of the game we received from the ICG?

You'll have vanilla for PS4 and Giant for Vita. They've apparently rolled the DLC into the Vita port and made it cross buy with the PS4 base game, which is really generous and awesome.

When I had an iPod Touch, I had a few games that got a mysterious update that just disabled it from being playable on my older Touch, where it was just fine before that. That made me glad that I had maybe spent $30 total on iOS games over a few years and now I just use Google survey credit when there's a game I'm interested in on my Android phone. There's so much BS to mobile gaming that I'm glad Vita/3DS don't suffer from.

Yeah I never had PS+ on my PS3 but now got it on my PS4 and have really missed out on a lot of free stuff and am pretty bummed. They have made me a permanent Plus member now though so I won't miss anything else!!

Same length as full game with new story and content after. Sad dlc around same length as main $60 game. It was an amazing 6-8 playthrough on hardest mode first play. Buy dlc good value

Quick question    i think i   got this  right but want to make sure 

if i buy a game 

End of Serenity  and download it on my  VITA   even though it says  playable on my  vita and psp,   i can only play it on my vita right.

I Cant download it to my VITA and PSP  only games that are crossbuy you get to play them on all systems.

So if i wanted to play it on my VITA and PSP i would have to buy it twice

 
You could play it on both at the same time if you want. There's nothing stopping you outside of whatever restrictions there for how many PSPs and Vitas can be tied to your account.

k thanks. I might just move all of my PS1 and PSP games off my vita back to my psp and free up around 10gb of space. I think i can get a 16GB memory card for my psp cheap

We established this wasn't the case 3 years ago. Unless you're just subscribing to PS+? Which is unlikely comsidering your weekly complaints.

i have only been grabbing games that im interested in on psp and vita only up to may. since then i been adding all of the game since then.

Great news is rarely great for everyone. In fact, great news for one person (I got the job!) is often bad news for many other people.

It is, indeed, great news that Don't Starve is cross buy. I love the game, but often remote played it anyway and will have an easier time giving it the time it deserves on a handheld.

 
My brother is getting a ps4 and I'm going sign in with my psn+ account so he could play the free psn+ ps4 games that I have. Is there an easy way to see which ps4 games I have? Maybe a website that has a list of the free psn+ games listed by date and console?

Why would you only grab games you're interested in? What if a game you have no interest in now becomes a game you have interest in down the road? What do you lose by grabbing games you don't currently have an interest in, a couple calories burnt clicking your index finger a couple extra times? Seems really silly to me.

It's not really listed by console, but the history of PS+ games in the OP has them sorted by month so you can just start from November 2013 and copy down everything listed for PS4.

cause of lack of room i had back then , i never intened to buy a ps3 or ps4 so why grab the games.

 
I almost want to go for Growlanser HoW PS2 but I own a physical copy and  I know the game blows. It's funny how cheap prices really get you to consider anything.

Pinball Arcade has a weird cross-buy system I believe. PS3 purchases or PS4 purchases both go to the Vita version but PS3 doesn't transfer to PS4, right? Kind of lame.

God of War Collection is cross-buy even though they don't list it as such, correct?

I'm on my phone and don't feel like searching it - is First Light standalone?

I believe the PS3 and Vita versions are together and the PS4 is separate for Pinball Arcade.

There's also a google doc spreadsheet tracking everything ps+ being maintained somewhere on the net. I found it recently. Anyone interested should be able to google it up, if you're having issues I'll re-find it.
