Has anyone else had trouble using the GOTY DLC disc with the PS+ download of the game? I borrowed a friends GOTY DLC disc and it installed fine. However it broke my ability to play online. The PSN version is 1.09 and the GOTY is 1.10 which seems to be the issue from what I have googled.

Does this mean I have to either buy the DLC for $29.99 through PSN or buy the GOTY disc based version if I want to access the DLC levels and content? Would I have the same problem?

I want to help him with some of this stuff but it isn't worth $30 to me or him.

I'm here finally. Was outside doing what Stotch is supposed to do; exercise. Won't be able to afford the PS4 if you don't drop the weight, Cap.

I had installed the DLC from the GotY, but used the digital version. Needed to reinstall the play disc so the DLC under "Game Data Utility" matched the same version as the digital game (1.10)

Yet another reason why trophies are cool.

It's fairly grindy. I probably have another 25 hours or so. It's a solid 80 hour plat. You don't have to grind during the story, but there's a brutal post-game dungeon (like pretty much every RPG). And there's a grindy arena trophy that's dumb, but the arena does let you make the best guns.

I feel like I had such a hard time on 360. I'm not sure if I want to start it again or just pass.

I'd say give it a shot. It's different enough that it's worth a playthrough. And there's a lot of rewarding stuff once you figure out what you're doing - gun customization, tri-attacks, terminal linking. There's a walkthrough on TrueAchievements that will make sure you have the right gun customizations each chapter and don't get stuck. And make sure you do the Arena tutorial - takes 20 minutes, but it will save you hours of frustration.

But again, it's probably 40-50 hours just to beat, 80 for the plat.

According to earlier accounts (if I'm remembering correctly), just do the update off the disc and it will carry over to the digital and fix your problems. Then you no longer need the disc.

Got to play multiplayer Towerfall Ascension with my boys tonight. Birthday! I feel sorry for you people without kids or other people to play local multiplayer games with! The multiplayer is hellafun!

I was going to buy Rorona when it got cheaper (like $20 on sale this fall)  but I guess I'll just have to eat the difference. Stupid Sony store listing.

 
Also, verified you can use a Vita connected via remote play as one of the players. Cool. They have to start the game, so are player one.

Yes, this discussion is always one-sided. A few ambivalent posts don't negate that. Feels like religion. We can discuss lots of shit here but don't you question mAh jesus trophies. Disappointing but I've tried to adapt.

I already said the guy was out of line but it was hardly an "attack". If trophies are the reason you play games... own that shit. But don't get offended if someone questions your input.

jcondon, i tried to give a heads up to people. same thing happened to me, but luckily i hadnt flipped the goty yet, i was a day away from the same mistake. eldritch fell into it also. you need to update the main game data and not just the dlc from the goty disc. once you update the game data it will always update the dlc data also and you can play online even when they come out with more updates (like they did recently which worried me, but it all still updates and lets me play online) if you do the goty dlc install, make sure to at least install the game data too or else it is single player only when using digital version. 

i am so late cuz i forgot to refresh the page before i posted. lol. at least i tried to help.

haha simmias, that arena is the harshest thing iv read. 50 ranks and 10 battles per rank. that's 500 battles just in the arena. oh lordy. i need to get back into it after  some jojo, edf 2025, etc, i gave up ish around the 'get me wine from the freezer' quest and i got lost looking for mannequin parts and idol pictures. now it has been 4 days and i am going to forget what buttons do what. i will probly be running into walls and failing for next 5 hours trying to rejump my brain into how to play it.

Thanks everyone for the help. My co worker found some other Over power level people tonight to play with. Would take more effort then I am really interested in to go from 41 to 72. I uninstalled the DLC and for now I think I am done with BL2 for a while. Want to move on to something else.

Gave Remember Me a quick look not sure it is my type of game though. Not big on combo type games and this one makes me define them too? Will give it another chance though and see if it clicks. Seems like it could be cool.

Transistor looks so good. I quite like this game. Sucks I haven't had the time to really sink my teeth into it, but the sweet bursts have been really sweet.

Make a combo where you just mash the square button. That's all you need to get through the game.

 
Just got back from seeing the new x-men movie with my son...pretty dope movie
I'm surprised they haven't had a good xmen game in awhile.
