Escape Dead Island Coming to PS3

We’re pleased to announce that Escape Dead Island is coming to PS3, a whole new survival-mystery game with a fresh perspective on the Dead Island universe.

Escape represents a crucial bridge between the events of Dead Island and Dead Island 2, and will finally reveal the origins of the virus, even some tantalizing clues where the events are going to lead… but it’s going to be up to you to decide what to believe. The whole experience is vividly realized with comic-inspired visuals that complement Cliff’s surreal situation, delivering on Dead Island’s promise of a paradise gone to hell. In the case of Escape, it turns out to be a particularly private hell.

Crimsonland Hits PS4 on July 15th



Hello folks! I’m really happy to be back on Playstation.Blog to announce Crimsonland will hit PS4 on July 15th.

It’s a big deal for us at 10tons, for a whole bunch of reasons. First of all, Crimsonland is an incredibly fun, dual-stick, top-down shooter. It’s exactly the kind of game we love playing and developing. It’s delightfully old school, too, with plenty of splatter, gibs, and challenge.

Crimsonland is also the game 10tons was founded on all the way back in 2003. It started as a student project, but soon reached a level of success that a company was needed to support it. The PS4 version at hand is still largely the same game. Sure, the graphics have been replaced with new HD assets, content has been added and design tweaks made, but the immensely satisfying gameplay remains intact.

It’s not a complicated game. You play this Trooper guy. Aliens, giant spiders, zombies, and other monsters start coming at you from every direction. You shoot them, but more keep coming. Soon enough you’ll be running. Just when you think you’re dead, you get some awesome powerups and wipe the screen clear in few seconds, and it feels great. But an even bigger horde is already coming right at you.





The game is kept fresh by an arsenal of 30 weapons and 55 perks. Perks are special abilities which allow you to reload faster, shoot poison bullets, and whatnot. But you only get to pick a few of them per game from a shortlist of a few perks. You need to take your playstyle and the weapon you have into account too, as everything interacts with everything.

There’s a sixty mission campaign with three difficulty settings, and five survival gameplay modes with dedicated leaderboards for single player and 2-4 player local co-op. The co-op works by adding a monster multiplier based on player count, so with four players you get literally hundreds of enemies on screen at the same time.

had a major storm roll though here last night. Hate Tornado warrings in the middle of the night since you cant see them. First time i ever heard lighting hum. Everytime last night after a lighting strike you would hear this weird hum noise in the air (unless it was something else)

i was looking out front when the storms rolled through here last night, noticed the wind from my left was blowing towards the house and the wind from the right was blowing towards the house so i told the kids to get in the basement and they issued a warning about 2 minutes later

 
To anyone who's platted Skyrim: Is there any workaround for the glitch with Oblivion Walker? It's the last trophy I need for the plat and it wouldn't pop. I'm 100% sure I did everything right; I've checked several times.  :wall:

 
I'm mildly interested in Escape Dead Island. I'm not at all interested in Crimsonland (surprise, surprise).

Some players fail to receive the achievement after collecting 15 valid daedric artifacts (as in, artifacts that count towards attaining the achievement, such as the Masque of Clavicus Vile). If Ring of Hircine was obtained instead of Savior's Hide during "Ill Met By Moonlight", the achievement might unlock if the player returns to Bloated Man's Grotto and kills Sinding. For those of conscience, saving before killing Sindling will allow the player to reload after the achievement/trophy has been awarded. At which point Hircine should appear and award the 16th artifact - Savior's Hide. No other fix or workaround is known as of patch 1.9.

You missed a daedric artefact, because it only glitches if you lock yourself out of the quest. Happened to me too, but I'm a junkie of Skyrim so I played through it... thrice.

I've read that, but it isn't clear on whether or not it's the patch causing it. If it is, I could uninstall, pick up a vanilla copy from Gamestop, and maybe it would pop. It would be nice to know before I did all that though.

I didn't miss anything. Like I said I've checked several times. Received every artifact required.

Dead Island is a guilty pleasure of mine so I'm mildly interested in it too. But my interest went way down when I saw that it is actually a full retail game ($39.99). I thought it would be a smaller downloadable title. A stealthy Dead Island does not sound like it would have much longevity.

Damn, I didn't know it was full retail. I thought it was a downloadable game too. I see they are going the same route as Borderlands.

I know this ctrlCctrlV guy is a joke account (almost definitely jay), but I'm finding him to be pretty useful. ConstantC has pretty middling reviews on metacritic. Will wait for free with PS+. 

Speaking of middling reviews... I'm really tempted to buy the new Sniper Elite game. Someone talk me down!

If you have a Vita, grab it. It's a lot of fun and you'll definitely get your money's worth out of it. Tons of levels and the levels all have 5 challenges that are varied and difficult enough to maintain interest. Add the instant restart and you can easily spend a few hours saying "just one more try..."

 
I finished Brothers the other day and started Spec Ops: The Line, all while I should have been playing MGS4. I hate non digital games. I played the first 2 or 3 chapters of Spec Ops, game is pretty crazy can't wait to play the rest. Then back to MGS4 or maybe the other way around. Too much to play as usual. I'm kind of happy though just grabbing whatever I'm in the mood for at the moment as opposed to feeling obligated to a title. As long as I don't start too much at once I should be good. I'm usually more of a 1 game at a time player. Well 1 console 1 handheld anyway.

I actually bought the FIFA World Cup Brazil game on XBL this morning because a) it was on sale and b) I had some MS credit burning a hole in my pocket.

EDIT: And how could I forget c) #noplatz4life

Team U.S.A. will now definitely lose today because of my actions, confirmed.

I am pretty sure he said he liked that Rambo "game" that came out recently. And since I found out he is about 10 years old I am pretty sure you should ignore everything he says. That is if his use of "dat" didnt give that away already!

K bought OlliOlli and Dustforce.  Normally like to wait for 75% off on games but I've been waiting on both of these for a while.

Ended up with Dustforce on PS3 since the controls are a tiny bit floaty and will take some getting used to.  I was having issues sticking to walls using the Vita nubs.

K, now that I got my big 3 games I was waiting for all in one week, gotta create a new big 3.

So Sony, if you could put Steamworld Dig, 1001 Spikes, and TxK on sale this week I'll buy them all.
