Gonna make the plunge to PS4 after trading in stuff I don't need anymore, hopefully tomorrow.  Any must buys for the system?  I'm already looking at Outlast as it is something I haven't seen in many games before.  Also might get Wolfenstein finally.

I guess the best choices would be any exclusives that have blown ya'll away.  Thanks!

Infamous is good

You'll be happy with either. I love my original, people love their newer models. People that have both seem split - it really depends on what you care about in your visuals. For example, some people can't handle the mura effect of oled, etc. I'd pick up whatever you can find without worrying too much about it.

The newer model does have some other nice features like a change in the power cord to something more common.
I have both. There's definitely some difference in visual quality with the games that have been released...but what needs to be considered is that future (and current releases) will more than likely be calibrated for the Slim's screen, so it will look better for newer games, and the OLED will look off. When you combine that with PSP and Remote Play games looking weird on the OLED (because they're calibrated for an LCD as well), the LCD on the Slim is definitely the way to go.

Plus, yeah, it's better ergonomically and with the improved charging port.

Do you have PS+ or are you starting with a bare cupboard? I'm starting Resogun. I've heard good things. People say Infamous is pretty, but short, and the protagonist is annoying. AC4, Tomb Raider are good. Killzone can be bought on sale for 20.00 more frequently.

Congrats! Pick up ps+ if you can, it's worth it.

Outlast is a great horror game. Genuinely creepy.

Resogun (modern Defender) is amazing and i'm really digging this week's Crimsonland (dual stick shooter).

For AAA, the two games I want most are Wolfenstein and Infamous, though I haven't played either. If you like (arcade) racing games, Need For Speed is a solid entry and will keep you entertained.

I really dig Don't Starve, but there are others here who hate it, so it's totally a ymmv situation. It's slower paced and has permadeath, which should be enough to know which camp you fall in.

I haven't had much time to game on my ps4 lately so I just haven't played as many games as I'd like, but there's been no shortage of great games for the time I have had.

Do I need to have played all the way through Infamous 2? I think I got about halfway through that game before it got old.

I do have PS+ but I missed a couple games I think. I know I missed Outlast, which I regret, but don't mind paying the $20 price tag.

I beat TR on the ps3 and loved it! I'm working through the Killzone series on ps3 slowly but surely so I wan't to get Shadowfall at some point.

Thanks for the reccommendations ya'll! Keep bringing them if you got them.

Remote Play games look fine on my oled, but I still stand by people will be happy with either.

So each 9 digit code gives 3 beta codes? I guess I have 9 beta codes total. I have 3 PS4s, 3 PS3s, and an unredeemed set if anyone needs platform specific.

Edit: Nevermind, I went ahead and just redeemed the PS4 version.

Have fun.

Used the first PS4 one (838G), thanks.

No, just Colin Moriarty. You dont know bias until you listen to him speak. There are a handful of very competent editors if you look hard enough - Brian Altano, Vince Inginito, Mitch Dryer, and Marty Sliva to name a few.
I have heard him speak, I listened to Podcast Beyond for a year or two before finally getting sick of him and giving it up.

I'll agree Altano is good, though he's mostly busy with Up At Noon and the like than reviews lately.

Okay, here's something different with Destiny codes as per IGN

http://www.ign.com/wikis/destiny/Trading_Card_Redemption_Codes#The_Codes

I know nothing about this at all but someone must understand.  It involves Bungie.net and says it can be used by anyone on any platform.

At various events throughout 2013, Bungie dispersed these trading cards to select international audiences. The cards feature detailed descriptions and concept art for various locations, characters and weapons, as well as codes that can be redeemed on Bungie.net.

Bungie has said that the rewards for redeeming each code will be small, in game content, though they won't specify what the content is until closer to the release date. There are 17 codes to redeem online.

Type them in on the Bungie code redemption page to redeem them on your Bungie account. Below are are all of the known trading cards and their respective codes. These codes can be used by anyone on any platform.

These codes were printed on the corresponding cards. Copy and paste them into the Code Redemption page on Bungie.net to redeem them for in-game content.

Is this useful for anybody?

I've put more time into the Destiny alpha & beta than some retail games I've bought.

God damnit Bungie. You sucked me back in!

(also everyone i've had play it loves it so far)

I used that one. Thanks!

So what is the purpose of the Grimoire Cards? I went on Bungie.net to see if I could figure it out, but they just seem to be trading cards based on various concepts and things about the characters and the world to add more lore to them all. The site doesn't really do much of anything to explain what they are for.

Sony sent me two more codes for the Destiny beta--one for PS4, one for PS3--so here they are:

Voucher Code for PS4: RR8R-HJN4-9NB8 Redeemed by MyWorstNightmare
Voucher Code for PS3: MDKL-LTNT-H76F

Like before, post if you use them.
Friend really wamted to pla it as well so I grabbed the ps3 one for him.
Thanks

I have a question for any PS3/PSN experts here. I'm trying to buy Kurushi on the UK PSN store, but having some problems. I've tried with a US PayPal account, but Sony rejects the payment. I'm unable to add any funds with my checking account, or debit card. Is there a way around this? I used a fake address for the UK account, but the postal code(for the BBC) is legit. I wouldn't think that would matter when it comes to billing, since I have to enter my US billing address anyway. I appreciate any help anyone is willing to offer. You can PM me if this is going to be a long walkthrough. Much Thanks!

I'm already a bit bored of the Destiny beta too be honest. I got through and did pretty much all the missions except for the one that acts like a domination match or such. The guns themselves seem very generic, the story is ok, I hate that all the missions for a place take place in the same location, the skills are OK but a bit generic, the effects like the shots from the enemies hurt my eyes a bit cause of the way the light is used (I have sensitive eyes so this may be an issue to me and others with sensitive to light eyes), the equipment seems generic and I mainly just look at the power and sometimes if it has an elemental effect (or whatever that is...light/dark?) and what type of gun it is. The gun play is pretty fun though i'm not too good at it, though i'm not a great FPS player either but was decent at Borderlands at least. It seems too much like an MMORPGShooter hybrid and that bores me a lot. It looks pretty good showing some next gen capability at least in the graphics department. I'm glad I didn't opt for any of the LEs...I can see myself playing the main story, playing some of the other things maybe even the multiplayer domination type, but I'm pretty sure by the time the first DLCs come out I will be done with the game. If I didn't have people to play with I would not buy it personally. All my opinions of course.

Can someone tell me if Grand Theft Auto looks and plays well on the Vita? I loved both games on the PSP but want to know if they still hold up on the Vita.

I think they really are just to provide background and flesh out the universe a little more.

Crimsonland is awesome, I beat all the quests on normal mode. Dat Colin doe said that this game ain't better than Dead Nation, hahahah wat a nub. Crimsonland pwns Derp Nation.  I've actually been on Crimsonland more than on Destiny beta

Further proof that Snakey : 1080p/60fps :: flies : crap!

That's a cool astronaut in Resogun. Thanks for the heads up! Looks like I'll finally play it today. I booted it up and spent like an hour browsing/liking/downloading custom ships the other day.

I spent most of this evening playing the Destiny beta on PS4 and got to level 7. They were running Bronze events for 2 hour blocks a couple times earlier. As long as you didn't leave matchmaking you could keep playing so that's what I did.

I can't believe Sony included a shitty mono headphone with the PS4. I pulled it out of the wrapper and promptly put it right back in earlier. Seems useless. I'll have to see if my ASTRO A40s work or wait to get a new headset.

Your A40's will work, but there's a mixamp firmware update for PS4 that you'll want to apply. Thing is, you DON'T want to update the firmware if you're going to keep using the A40's with a 360 or PS3 since it apparently changes the volume levels.

I've spent a lot of time playing the Destiny beta and still will play it more, but I agree that generic is the term I would use to describe most of the game. I thought I read somewhere that someone involved in making the game compared it to Borderlands, but having just completed Borderlands 2 I see nothing in common. Bungie has a gift for making enemies and guns that just aren't memorable at all. I played Halo 2 and 3 and all I remember is generic alien robot hybrid with colorful bullets. I'm surprised that so many people are looking forward to this game so much and loving the beta. I'm definitely confused by it but maybe I'm just getting too damn old for these games...the joy is fading.

Minecraft PS4 world size details:

https://twitter.com/4JStudios/status/487535341348585472

From another tweet, the size not being bigger is due more to save limitations.

Edit: And another tweet mentions that there may not be an option to expand the size of PS3 worlds to the PS4 size at launch.

It does seem a little bland - especially when it's compared to Borderlands which is oozing with personality (especially the 2nd).

To be fair, it is fun and there may be more personality and style than has been shown so far, but it seems like it could be so much more. I definitely enjoy everything about the game and will play it (especially with friends), but playing it kind of feels like when you hear a great song that's been turned into elevator music. It's interesting, but only because it reminds you of something better.

I'm playing Resogun and keep losing a human usually during the middle of the level. I'm not sure if I'm not killing enemies fast enough or my multiplier drops but I'll see the box highlighted and them jumping and then he'll die inside the box and it turns red. Usually I'm killing enemies all around the human so can someone explain this? Otherwise I'm having a lot of fun testing out the different ships and stuff.

Does this happen in later levels? I know they try to trick you by having two sets of Keepers appear so that you focus on one and forget the other appeared. There are also special humans that only unlock with certain reqs.

I'm still in the beginning lol. I guess I have to figure out the special requirements. I got 1 of 2 special astronauts. And I do like the dialogue they added for the astronauts. Very cool.

I'll agree Altano is good, though he's mostly busy with Up At Noon and the like than reviews lately.
I like that Altano doesn't review anything because he doesn't have this chip on his shoulder and speaks candidly. Very good insights.
