I was surprised to find out that the MSRP for Velocity 2X is $20, so I'm glad that it's at least free for PS+ members. That's kind of a crazy price for that game.
 
Yeah, that is high, even for a game that I am highly looking forward to.  I guess it's just another sign of next-gen inflation that we're seeing on a lot of digital-only PS4 and Xbone games recently.  

And that makes the fact that it will be free on PS+ even more awesome!

Is $20 launch price a box check for a platinum? I think everything (other than MGS) at that price has a plat, at least the digital only stuff. $15 titles are a mixed bag.
 
My review isn't live just yet, but I can say that I gave Velocity 2X a 4.5/5. They managed to adapt many of the same mechanics for the platforming that were in the regular Quarp Jet segments and make it work really well.
 
When you're adding things to your download queue from the web store, is there a way to select which PS3 it downloads to if you have 2 registered to your account? It seems to want to download to both every time.

Yes, but it doesn't make too big of a difference. I still haven't played tools of destruction and jumped straight to Crack in Time (there is a pretty lengthy synopsis of the Story of Tools of Destruction while Crack in Time installs). Then followed that up with R&C: Into the Nexus, and then finally Quest for Booty (which takes place between Tools and Crack in Time).

Not necessarily. There's also Resident Evil/Code Veronica X, The Swapper, Starlight Inception, Pac-Man Museum that all cost $20 or more and don't have a plat.

 
God damnit. I was all like "oh crap, i better go grab Trials Fusion for $13.75 before the store updates" and the $13.75 price showed up but couldn't add it to my cart and then 10 minutes later it showed up for $19.99. :(

Not sure why I sat on it until the last minute but oh well I'm sure it will be on sale for a cheaper price eventually if not free on PS+.

With all that said I'm now download Velocity 2X... GET HYPED. Also, NBA 2K15 is now up for digital pre-order!

You can second son for 25 with free shipping on gamefly right now which is a much better price.

Plus if there are any dlc or ps+ codes in Tyne case they will still work since Gamefly never needs the cases when renting out.

You can get second son for 25 with free shipping on gamefly right now which is a much better price.

WTF!  The new Velocity on the Vita chews up 2.9 GB!!!!!!!!!  PS4 version is like 2.2!

Also, Don't Starve on the Vita isn't showing up that I can download it without paying for it...least not yet.

EDIT TO ADD:  Looks like Velocity Vita isn't 2.9 GB (as it shows on the PS Store website).  Looks like it is around 700 MB.

Deadly Premonition Ultimate- 5.39

Mirrors Edge- 4.89

Thoughts?

The real question would be, when will I plug my ps3 back in again..

 
woot. picked up dead space, dead space 2, alice ultimate edition, and crysis 2.

any thoughts on battlefield 3 or bad company 2? are the MP's slightly active enough to get trophies?

You are probably going to get a lot of different answers for DP. It's a very polarizing game. Lot of people love it, lot of people hate it. It's certainly an... experience. I personally liked the game, so I would recommend it. You'll be more so playing for the story/quirkiness though as the combat is pretty much... unnecessary. You can kill everything in like two shots. And you can easily get weapons that will one shot every enemy. From what I heard, the guy who wrote it didn't even want combat to be a part of the game, and that shows. It's pretty much an afterthought.

I'd say yes to both. Mirror's Edge is $12 used on amazon and way more for a new copy, so $4.89 is a good deal for that.

It was just on sale couple months ago for around the same price iirc...thats when i bought it. $14 for the whole trilogy should be a no brainer but thats just me, i dont have cag logic.

It'll go on sale again. It was cheap fairly recently. Also, the store isn't officially 'complete' until 2pm PST so it could still possibly go up.

I'm on the fence about Deadly Premonition.

I really didn't like Mirror's Edge. I can see why people loved it... maybe watch some footage? If it looks appealing, it's worth getting. It's very good at being what it is. I had it in my backlog for like 3 years, then discovered it wasn't at all for me after like 15 minutes.

But... even though my ps3 is plugged in, the odds of me using it approach 0%. Heck, I haven't finished Dark Souls 2 yet and that's a top franchise of mine. I am coming to grips with the fact that the ps3 is now a media machine, despite all the games I have for it.

I know you know this, but always bite on sales by end of day Monday. They can go down anytime Tuesday. But if it wasn't you this week, it would be somebody else.

 
Dang, I was hoping Don't Starve would be cross-buy, or at least that our PS+ copy for the PS4 would allow for some kind of discounted upgrade for the Giant Edition.

 
Is the Rockstar Sale new?  I know they've been on sale before, but thinking about Max Payne 3 Complete.

I bought Deadly Premonition Ultimate at the sale price without hesitation, I've considered spending $20 on it, so sub-$6 is a no-brainer.

I already have all the Mass Effect games (I don't have ME1 for PS3, but I have it for 360, and I have 2 and 3 for 360 or PS3 or both), but I'm considering the bundle to get 1 on PS3, and just because it is such a great value.

$14 is a solid price. I played part of the first on PC, it was cool but my rig wasn't good enough. Loved the second on PS3. The third is inseparable from it's... ending. All of the games have significant issues, but all have a lot to love, too. Very much worth getting.

I picked up MP3 new and sold it before i finished it. Picked it up again cheap, and never find the time for it. I think that might say something about it? But some love it.

RDR bundle is worth it. The base game is epic, and the dlc is fantastic.

 
I wish I wasn't so picky as a gamer. This sale has a number of games that are well liked, but almost none that I'd actually want to play (and the few that I would I've bought before).

I could be wrong, but I think the MP3 Complete + RDR bundle in question does not include the DLC for RDR.

Like an earlier poster said, I also bought Max Payne (7 bucks at KMart on Black Friday) and played only half of it.

RDR, on the other hand, I put MASSIVE hours into and LOVED it. Be sure to get the Undead Nightmare DLC. It is a hoot!

I've always wanted to play the Alice games. That is a hard price to pass up.

$14 for ME trilogy is a heck of a lot of gaming for cheap...but I might wait for a Steam sale this holiday.

SSX is only five bucks and I love it even though it doesn't have couch co-op.

Never got around to playing Bully. It is only $2.50.

I found the more recent Alice game to be really boring.

Bully is a classic... but I can't swear it holds up well. But it probably does? I mean, I think The Warriors still holds up. If Bully was playable on vita I'd definitely grab it at that price, the only reason I'm capable of holding off is that i know i won't play it on ps3. If you can find time for it, it's worth $2.50 to at least sample and you'll probably play through it all (assuming you like Rockstar games).

BF3 is still active but I don't think BC2 is but I'm not sure.
 
people are also saying there's an activision and ubisoft sale? i only see rockstar and EA.

One of the Rockstar sales earlier in the year had it for cheap and the PS2 (for PS3) version was not on sale. So I'm extra happy this version is finally on sale as this is the version I wanted. I'm sure you'll get another shot at the PSP version.

Pretty decent sale. Already picked up most of the games I would have wanted in past sales but still found some good games to consider picking up. Just wished I hadn't bought Bully off Steam a few weeks ago. 

 
Red dead AND Max Payne 3 for $10? Now that's a deal i will gladly take advantage of.

Tempted to get the Mass Effect Trilogy. I've only played some of part 1 and didn't really like it much but $14 for all 3 of them just seems like a really good deal.

 
there are a lot of sales I'd jump on if i still felt like i'd play my ps3.  the battlefield games, deadly premonition, etc.   I... just think i'd be throwing money out the window though.   it's my vita or ps4 nowadays.  which means i'll miss out on some good things, but it is what it is.
