In other news, Kingdom Hearts HD collection has a total platinum count of...drum roll...0. That's right, 0. Zip. Nada. Oh well.
Considering the Japanese versions (that came out in March) show all three games have trophy lists and two platinums, that would make you wrong.

http://psnprofiles.com/trophies/1877-KINGDOM-HEARTS-FINAL-MIX

http://psnprofiles.com/trophies/1880-KINGDOM-HEARTS-ReChain-of-Memories

http://psnprofiles.com/trophies/1878-KINGDOM-HEARTS-358-2-Days

Do your research on things before trying to confuse people and spread misinformation on here, thanks.

I was misled by the secret trophies. I don't remember the last time I played a game that put a platinum like a secret trophy. I saw the listing in ps3trophies.org and didn't check carefully. My mistake.

You're forgiven... now just go get the platinum's and enjoy the Final Mix content that we finally get over here! :bouncy:

Oh snap, new Vita model.
Wow, guess I should have watched that press conference after all. Thinner doesn't sound good to me but lighter does, though I'm sure we're only going to be getting black here anyway. Really interested to see some more pictures since I'm already tempted to get one just because they changed the awful design for the start and select buttons.

Oh snap, new Vita model.
Just looks like it's thinner, lighter, and more compact, so not worth upgrading in my opinion. I think what will make most people happy is the 64GB memory card finally being announced. All the people who wanted a new Vita model with HDMI out can keep dreaming and are just going to cry now, ha.

Soul Sacrifice Delta announced too.

Did they announce the card, because if so, I'll trade in my 32GB now and go back to the 8GB until it's released over here? I'm only half listening to the presentation.

I also heard that they replaced the OLED screen with an LCD screen. Ehhh, I'll keep my original model.

Yes, it got announced as they were showing the new price drops over there for memory cards. When it will come over here though no one knows yet. The new Vita design just seems like it cuts corners on production to drop the price on it.

People have reported several places having talked to Squenix reps who told them off the record to expect it around February.
Isn't February going to be FF13-3 Lightning for SquareEnix? And FF14 PS4 version? Hmm, crazy month if FFX/FFX-2 HD released too then.

Yeah they replaced the OLED screen with an LCD screen, that's a downgrade, isn't it?

New model does nothing for me.  I don't find the current Vita to be too big or too heavy.  And what's wrong with the current start/select buttons?

Thanks, and never mind about trading in the 32GB. I don't need more than that.

Most likely, I mean there are really good LCDs that most people wouldn't see a huge difference in but if they swapped for cost reasons (which is the only reason you do that I'm sure) then that's not the kind of screen they're going to be using.

No HDMI, No OLED, 15% lighter and 1 hour more battery time, and 1 gig of RAM.

No HDMI and no OLED?  I'll pass.

Not sure what the appeal of an HDMI out is, other than for streaming maybe.  The Vita looks great, I don't see the need to actually play the games on a big screen TV.

Awesome story bro! My wife and I are going on 18 years now. She just started to get interested in games, mainly puzzle ones. Plantz vs. Zombies got her into it. Wish you all the best!

I bought Mystic Heroes for ps2 like 10 years ago on a date when I first met my wife. She said she wanted the game and it looked cute dynasty warriors style so i was a baller and pulled out some cash. Time flies. now adays id be pulling out gift cards and looking for a deal. i look at my old receipts and shutter at what i spent on games compared to today, but that purchase was totally worth it. i never played the game much, but 5 kids later and i still have her ;)

Interesting that Nintendo, Sony, and Apple are all announcing cheap, downgraded versions of their products within 2 weeks of each other.

Sony just gave the PS Vita platform a shot in the arm with that PS Vita TV device. An Apple TV like device with remote play, Dualshock, vita, and psp game compatibility for about $95.

Andrew House took the stage at a pre-TGS press conference this morning in Japan to show off this new pocket-sized system. This 6cm x 10cm device will allow your TV to access video services and much more.

You can look at pictures, play games, watch Hulu, access PS Store videos, tweet, and much more. Oh, and play Vita games! And downloadable PSP and PSOne games, too.

It's also a companion device for the PS4. Via remote play it will allow you to play PS4 games from another room, for example.

In Japan it will be released for 9,480 yen (about $95) this November 15. A bundle with an 8GB memory card and Dual Shock 3 controller will also be released, priced at about $150.

The only thing that stopped me from a second playthrough of Person 4 was I totally wrecked my eyes starring at the Vita too long haha.

That sounds awesome but there's so many Vita games that require the touch capability so it sounds like you're still going to have to have the console next to you if you're playing with a controller. Still, if the reviews are good I will be buying that.

Wonder if we'll see the new Phantasy Star game over here. I know they're like, allergic to good decisions, but come on, Sega!

Edit: Just noticed that it's even being developed by tri-Ace. If this doesn't get localized I will drive up to San Francisco and picket Sega of America.

I must have been walking the dog when they announced the Vita TV so I missed it, but is it a completely standalone device? If so, that could definitely provide a nice boost for the Vita and its game library. Although, like Eldritch said, what do they do about touch features?

It's a standalone device. I think the touch features can probably be emulated with the DS4. Even though Sony didn't mention anything about the DS4.

Edit: Sony press release confirms ds4 compatibility in future software update on the device. It has similar hardware and OS as ps vita. PS+ compatible.

If the ps vita tv device gets gaikai down the road it could essentially bring ps3 and ps2 backwards compatibility along with it. Making this small device able to play games from all of the playstation consoles from the past up till vita and ps4 via remote play. Or maybe i'm just dreaming too big lol.

Edit: If Sony bundles this with the ps4, this might be where the $500 vita/ps4 bundle rumor was coming from last month.

Wow, definitely keeping my bundle with the extra DS4 then because this could be incredible if it's as good as it sounds. Now Sony just needs to not make the same huge marketing mistakes that hurt the PS3 so badly and they'll have a really formidable ecosystem going on.

Wow, since it seems like the vita/psp games will be downloaded to the system instead of steaming I think now is a good time to sell my vita. I would love to play my psp on the tv, I can't wait.

they really needed a demo for dragon book 2.    When i heard part 2 was coming i said  day one buying, BUT  got dragon book 1 a few weeks back for 2.50 and  glad i never paid 10 for   BOOK 1 and doubt i will give more then 5.00 for  BOOK 2.

It's a standalone device. I think the touch features can probably be emulated with the DS4. Even though Sony didn't mention anything about the DS4.

Edit: Sony press release confirms ds4 compatibility in future software update on the device. It has similar hardware and OS as ps vita. PS+ compatible.

Wow $100 (if my conversion is correct). This must have been their plan after the Wii. Serve the high end, but undercut the low end. However, now the low end is served by all those sub $100 Android boxes, but I think this and plus would compete well with those boxes that also have subscriptions.

Alright wtf lol. Somebody please give me an update on all this vita information or a good link. It seems like I missed a lot.

From what I gather the new vita sounds like a cheaper, downgraded model and its best to keep the original? And what is the point of the vita tv thing? Why would I want to blow up my psp and vita games to my 47in tv haha. And since it's all digital, how about the people with carts of all their vita titles?

EDIT: My brain hurts :p

EDIT 2: And what's this about Soul Sacrifice Delta?!?! Argh!  :whee:

Plus you can't really play every vita games. Some games that use a lot of touch mechanics are not going to be playable on your tv.

Why would I want to play Vita games on a TV? Apparently Uncharted is one of the games not supported. I think this thing is just going to cause a lot of confusion.

Exactly haha. I mean psp games on vita already look a little fuzzy because of the different resolution. Just think about how bad it would looked streamed to your hdtv! o_O Not to mention all the touch capabilities of the vita. I mean wasn't that one of the big points of making the vita for it to have a touch screen?

I don't know, I'm just confused as why so many other people are excited for this?

I'm not really sold on the Vita TV thing at all.  I hope it sells well and continues to increase the Vita install base, but I'm not so sure.  I guess it's a cheap way for all those guys who have had PS+ for the last year to start playing all their free Vita games (the ones that are compatible, anyway).

I also hope Sony remembers the Vita is still a portable console and that games need to be designed with the Vita's control scheme in mind.
