I couldn't play Saint Row the 3rd as well even though I was really looking forward to it. That game just makes me so dizzy its unbelievable. I remembered trying to play Gran Theft Auto games for the PS2, and they too made me dizzy. But Sleeping Dogs didn't affect me at all. Nada!

You have got to start X-COM. It's an amazing game. I just couldn't put that one down, and I platinum it during that first week of release on Plus.

Well, my fail.

Trying to be positive...

I still have not even loaded up Xcom... and that is one that I want to play.
Saints Row 3 I played about 5 minutes of it...

Groan...
Oh well. :)

Agreed, I've been playing XCOM and it's outstanding! Just restarted this morning (failed my first game, but learned a lot) and am already getting addicted again ^_^

Somehow I ended up owning 3 versions of xcom and I play them all. One on Mac, one on ipad and the one that was on ps plus.... Though I tend to mix them up and forget where I am in each

I'm definitely going to try and pick it up again on PC, though it plays great with a controller I think. I didn't realize it was on ipad, that's pretty cool!

Just so you know that this game has a download rating of 21.7 GB, so one would need to have at least 44 GB free on the PS3 to be able to download this.
So glad I updated my hard drive so I no longer have to worry about things like this :) Now the question is to Ni No Kuni or not to Ni No Kuni. I want it but the time involved with a playthrough is something I don't have too much of these days.

And it's the entire experience. I think it's only missing like 2 or 3 maps and they haven't implemented multiplayer yet, but otherwise it's identical, this isn't some pared down port. The ipad is actually my favorite way to play due to the tactile nature of telling the soldiers where to go directly with my fingers.

Is everyone really too busy playing GTA V or murdering majestic colossi that this thread went silent for 12 hours? Inconceivable!
Uh, I was playing GTA V.. now I'm at stupid work. This is the first time a GTA game has come out since I graduated college and got a job/kid.. it is going to take me forever to beat it. Five-years-ago-me would be wrapping up the story right about now..

Is there a wiki on which sleeping dogs dlc are worth buying?
http://sleepingdogs.wikia.com/wiki/Downloadable_Content_%28DLC%29, that describes what is included in each pack.

These 2 are free

Community Gift Pack

Ghost Pig pack

I ended up purchasing the story packs: year of the snake, nightmare in northpoint, wheels of fury, and zodiac tournament. I also picked up the two big cop packs (swat pack and law enforcer pack) as they flesh out the law enforcement aspect of the game a bit more with lots of cop vehicles and some SWAT missions. I also picked up the square enix pack for funsies.I skipped all the pre-order bonuses and other costumes. Best for you to just read the wiki entry for each DLC and decide for yourself. If the other martial arts styles didn't require you to wear the costume, I probably would have purchased some like the drunken fist pack.

Is everyone really too busy playing GTA V...
I'm not sure where this puts them in relation to other entertainment launches, but it appears it could be the biggest ever. Crazy when you think about SEGA buying an entire company for less than a fifth of what this ONE game made in less than ONE day.

Also, there's a CAG crew for anyone interested.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sep. 18, 2013-- Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ:TTWO) today announced that Grand Theft Auto V delivered the highest first day retail sales of any title in the history of the Company and the Grand Theft Auto series. Launched on September 17 for the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the title has already received widespread critical acclaim and achieved first day sell-through of more than $800 million worldwide, excluding the upcoming launch in Japan and Brazil, according to Company estimates.

“All of us at Take-Two are thrilled with the initial response to Grand Theft Auto V. Once again, the team at Rockstar Games have outdone themselves, setting the entertainment industry's new standard for creativity, innovation and excellence," said Strauss Zelnick, Chairman and CEO of Take-Two. “Beginning at midnight on Monday, consumers around the world gathered in anticipation to be among the first to experience the evolution of this remarkable series. In North America alone, more than 8,300 stores opened their doors at midnight to welcome fans whose loyalty and enthusiasm were rewarded with what The New York Times called ‘the most immersive spectacle in interactive entertainment’. We are incredibly proud of Rockstar Games’ creative achievement and could not be more pleased with the success of this launch.”

I'm sure it's just me, but I'm glad for a brief lul. Give me a chance to work on my backlog if nothing else ;)
one bad thing about my backlog is that 99.9% of them are RPG and i have to think what RPG can i get though in 3 weeks or so (since pokemon X is coming on oct 12) was going to get EO for the 3ds BUT dont feel like doing another one of those when i never beat the 4th one. who am i kiddlng i dont think i beat any of them :)

i hate playing RPG games and then having to put them down in the middle of the game cause by the time you get back to them you have no clue where the hell you left off. looking right at you

I was enjoying GTAV on the livestream last night, but starting it up today brings me to the very beginning of the game. I don't know how there's no autosave at any point in those first few missions during the introduction.

There definitely is. Any chance you accidentally shut it off?

EDIT: Wait, maybe I'm thinking you got farther then you did. My bad.

I also thought that was odd. Thankfully I went in and manually saved a bunch of times while I was playing last night. You'd think by now that most games, certainly ones as high-profile and big-budget as GTAV, would be autosaving all the time, certainly after completing a mission or doing something even slightly significant in the game.

Oh well, Frisky, I guess tonight you can have Franklin steal the car you DIDN'T choose last night, huh? :)

Are you sure it has auto-save? I was under the impression that it didn't. I think you have to either sleep at a safe house or "quick save" from your phone. But, I'm not 100% on that.

I had to get to Franklin's house to be able to do any kind of saving, so I'm just going to stick with the quick save for now.

There is supposed to be an autosave. When the game first boots up, it tells you what the various loading icons mean. A rotating circle going one way is for loading and the other way is autosave.

When you complete a mission it has the save icon going in a circle, so I don't know why it wouldn't have saved. You guys have me a little worried now...

This is a nice surprise. Got a PM from Sony that as a bonus for my pre-order of Puppeteer from PSN, I got a code for the Theatrical pack that gives me a few avatars, the soundtrack, and a dynamic theme. There was no other bonus promised for Puppeteer other than the basic pre-order theme that every pre-order offers, so this is quite nice of them.

Nice! Very cool indeed!

I'm also looking forward to your GTA V video, Frisky. I loved Sleeping Dogs, but I just couldn't play any of the GTA games or even Saint Row the 3rd because they made me too dizzy. Sleeping Dogs doesn't affect me one bit, and I'm hoping that GTA V is the same way.

So I was looking forward to trying out Vita Remote Play with Ico as I know it's one of the few titles compatible and it was a total bust. Every time I selected the game it said "this content is not supported during remote play". Why? Google is giving me no help.

It comes preinstalled with the required patch put out last year, right? Or do I actually have to launch it once and update everything from the PS3?

I don't know. I haven't bothered trying that feature yet lol. Anyway, Yoshi (Sony) is showing off the Vita TV remote play live from TGS right now.

Whoa Dualshock 4 is ready to go with the Vita TV! Yoshi just did the entire Vita TV demo with the ps4 controller!

one bad thing about my backlog is that 99.9% of them are RPG and i have to think what RPG can i get though in 3 weeks or so (since pokemon X is coming on oct 12) was going to get EO for the 3ds BUT dont feel like doing another one of those when i never beat the 4th one. who am i kiddlng i dont think i beat any of them :)

i hate playing RPG games and then having to put them down in the middle of the game cause by the time you get back to them you have no clue where the hell you left off. looking right at you

Shin Megami Tensei IV
Do you sit down and plan out where you're going to place the extra spaces and line breaks in your posts or do you just randomly slam on the space bar with each blink?

I missed it, did they show anything regarding the touchpad on the Dualshock 4 with Vita TV?

I have never managed to get it to work beyond the title screen. It's a pretty broken feature on PS3 unfortunately and at least having it as a core feature on PS4 will hopefully mean it works.

Sometimes I wonder if he's not just a bot.

That sucks but at least you made it that far. My system doesn't even think it is compatible for some reason. I've done it successfully with Retro Grade so I know it can work. I will try it again tomorrow after launching it from the PS3 to see if it needs any updates.

Has anyone launched Ico from downloading it this week and does it need any updates?

Yeah, I'm totally excited for the PS4 remote play, assuming it works. Along with Plus it's actually my most anticipated feature and why I chose it to start with instead of XBOne.

I didn't notice so I don't think so. I just remember Yoshida showing Knack on ps4 being streamed via remote play. Here is part of Yoshida's demo:

And it seems to be archived on twitch:

I did the same exact thing - started it up on Vita expecting remote play to work, but got the "incompatible" message. I had tried SOTC via disc months back, and apart from the lag, it worked. Digital Ico disappointed me, as I was excited at the prospect of being able to play w/o needing the disc to constantly be in.. (until I remembered I had to pre-set the ps3 to enable remote play prior to playing anyhow).

After reading your message, I started it on ps3 rather than Vita. It required updated 1.01 (which specifically adds remote play compatibility), and it worked. On Vita, you have to follow the instructions on that first screen.

1. Touch the screen.

2. Click the "Settings" briefcase in the bottom right corner.

3. Assign buttons to Type 2.

4. Go back.

5. Hold "Select" + "R1" to activate R2, which lets the system know you did it right. Then game begins.

Running up the first set of stairs, lag set in and I was at the first lever after a screen jump. It works, but same as SOTC & GoW, it's rough. I was still glad to get it working, so best of luck.

I don't think any digital versions come with the patches pre-installed when you get them from the PSN store.

I'm actually glad for the Liberty City Stories freebie. I might actually finish it on Vita this time if the second analog can be used. I could never aim properly on PSP.

I don't think the second analog can be used. At least i sure didn't do anything for me with that game. What sucks is that the stick is there and so I naturally keep trying to look around with it. It's frustrating.

Awesome, perfect information, thank you. I always wondered if downloadable games came embedded with previous updates but I guess not. I didn't figure it would need an old update after just being downloaded but I'm sure that's what the issue is. I will try it again tonight after launching it on PS3 and updating.

Execution, on the other had, will be interesting with any kind lag. That would frustrate the heck out of me. The Vita doesn't have the best networking to begin with as I've had low connections sitting two feet from the router.

I truly hope it's somehow fixed up for PS4 as it would be such a cool feature to take your PS4 games anywhere. For making developers take the time to include it on every title they had better not just make it an unusable waste.

Stoked for the Vita release, but if they try to sell both games for $40 each then I'm going to be retty unhappy about that since PS3 gets both for $40.
