forgive my unresearched off the cuff question, but do ps2 classics ever go on sale? they seem to be almost entirely static in price, but maybe I just don't pay attention. I miss contra shattered soldier.

Sometimes. Odin Sphere has been on sale multiple times. I also believe Psychonauts, GTA: San Andreas, Twisted Metal: Black, and Rayman 2: Revolution have been on sale because I own those.

They do go on sale quite often for not being all that big yet. All three main GTA games, Persona 3 FES, Odin Sphere, Disgaea, Psychonauts, both Rayman games, and Raiden III especially has been on sale for months now.

There's a good chance it will be one of October's Vita games. It was listed as one of June's games, but it was later replaced. It could have been just a mistake, but it was probably intended for PS+.

 
Does anybody think Okami HD will go on sale anytime in the near future?  I never played the original game on PS2 or Wii and this "Get $10 Back for Every $50 Spent" seems like it would be a great opportunity to finally play this game.  I will hold off until near the end of October in case Sony decides to offer it as a PS+ offering, but almost all the reviews I have seen for the game have been exceptionally positive so that will require a little restraint.

Thera no obvious sign it will be on sale or ps+ fodder. I dont believe its ever been onsale, and europe got it free (for whatever thats worth) in thier ps+. If you wanna play it and plan on spending 30 more bucks anyway, go for it.

If it's new. If he gets a used copy, he has a 50/50 shot. The box don't mean jack if you buy at gamestop where they just put any disc from the drawer in the case.

Apparently it says on the disc as well, and if you bring a case with it advertised on the front, unless the employees are complete jerks I expect they'd take a moment to find the correct disc.
 
Anyone have any opinions on the Ass Creed DLC that's on sale this week? I'm in the middle of #2 now and wondered if those extra memories are worth it. Or the Brotherhood/Revelations stuff too for when I eventually get to those.

In a side note, I'm finding #2 way more entertaining and engaging than #1. I'm glad I didn't force myself to finish the second half of #1 and just skipped ahead to #2.
 
Skip the DLC for ACII, as one of them is only good for giving you a second attempt to earn a certain trophy if you missed your one shot in the main game. I don't recall there being much fanfare for the DLC for Brotherhood or Revelations either.

Jerks and just plain incompetent employees, usually the latter in my experience. Always cover your ass and check things out for yourself.

It's something a lot of us have been waiting to either go on sale on hit NA PS+ (pretty sure Europe got it months ago) for some time now.

 
quick question about the 10 back from $50 deal. Do you have to spend 50 all in one purchase or is it $50 that can be spent in spurts over sevearl different purchases the next several weeks?

It should be total based on how it reads. As in when the promotion closes they look at what you spent then give you the appropriate amount back by the date stated which is like a month later.

 
When do the October free PS+ games go live ? And anyone know what they will be? Eu just went live they got FarCry3, Dragons Dogma, Street Fighter X Tekken, and some other good titles...

When do the October free PS+ games go live ? And anyone know what they will be? Eu just went live they got FarCry3, Dragons Dogma, Street Fighter X Tekken, and some other good titles...

We'll find out what's coming in October on Monday and the first game will be available on Tuesday. It's the same way every month.

 
Lone Survivor seems really good so far. The sound design is especially good, and the game looks great on Vita. But I need to find some alone time to play this game. Getting interrupted every 5 minutes doesn't really help the atmosphere. LOL. I will have to stay downstairs and put headphones on. Hopefully not end up relegated to the couch for the rest of the night. LOL!

 
This has probably been discussed, but about the spend $50, get $10 promotion:

I've got $23 in my wallet already.  Can that count towards it if I spend it, or would I need to actually add $50 to my wallet?  I just use the PSN cards.

I wish it worked for Nov.  I want Ys: Celceta, and I want the three Ys PSP games that are on there, but I was holding out to see if the three PSP ones went on sale when Celceta got released (Nov 5 so way too late).

What about this deal makes you thinkit matters what you spend from your wallet or amounts therein? You need to spend $50 to get $10. Whether from your wallet or whatever.
 
Anyone know if that Vita AT&T PS+/Stardust/Smart As is still happening? I need to renew, and I want Stardust, so if it's still a thing, it's super appealing

So you didn't read it all then? The dates are from 9/24 to 10/29 that's pretty much entirely October with a smidge of September, and according to my calendar, august is like a whole month away from that. Looking at all of these days between when it starts and ends, none of them occur in August. Does your calendar have August between September and October? No? Guess that means no. It's so strange that an offer that takes place between 9/24 and 10/29 wouldn't include august. Bummer for you.

I'm thinking about picking up some PS1 games for Vita, to help me get to $50. I know I want Klonoa. Beyond that I'm mostly clueless about PS1 games. I wish we could get Ape Escape....

So so far I have on my list:

Stealth Inc. DLC $3.99
Klonoa $5.99

That's only $21.67.

Oh, Guacamelee! DLC is another $2.99. So that brings me up to $24.66. Almost halfway there! :) Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is a definite possibility. I had fun with some of the DS games in that series.
 
I would wait on any horror/spooky related purchases, as we are entering October I am sure some like resident evil or castlevania games will be on sale due to the close proximity to Halloween.

after a pretty dry month, and now this promotion, i expect we'll see a couple nice sales at least. then again, they could just be getting us on our knees to piss on us again :(

kind of sad ffx hd got pushed back, cause i was going to go digital for sure on that one. without any kind of sale, i just don't see myself buying anything digital this month.

edit: well, after looking at last october's store updates. i take back what i said :x

they ran 100 get 20 back last october, and sales were pretty dry then too. i just assumed there was one, cause i remember having quite a few items from october on my download list.

nice, held off on buying all of those, except for amalur. now that i have this shiny new hard drive, i'll download it anyway cause i'm too lazy to change discs sometimes. plus gta v will be in there for a long time :x

Ugh, I already have Hotline Miami (not for me) and Sine Mora on PC. Amular is nice, though I don't know when I'll have time to play it. Colossus is a welcome surprise after ICO last month (might as well complete the collection). Poker Night 2 I'm indifferent on. I enjoyed the demo but don't expect it has much lasting appeal.

I'd say a decent month for me, pretty good if you didn't have most of them.

 
^ Yeah I was about to come post this.  I already have KoA on disk for the 360 + the DLC so I won't need that but it is still a great offering.  The other 4 games are great.  Hotline Miami for Vita is really exciting.  Again...why do I buy games?

 
I'm happy for KoA all by itself - always wanted to play more of it after I finished the main story (hope I saved the game online).  Good news.  Hopefully some good sales to go with the $50->$10 promo to drain the ol sen wallet once again.

Holy shit, hell the fuck yes! Now I feel like a dick for bitching so much in September.

4 of them will be new for me this month, and Shadow of the Colossus is the only repeat but now it means I can sell my disc version for a little bit of cash.

Poker Night 2 and Hotline Miami are great additions since they've never been on sale before, besides possible 20% launch prices.

Been waiting forever for KoA to hit $10, so I'll gladly take it for free! Also super glad I passed on Sine Mora Vita when it was on sale a few months back!

Wow, a great month. I'll be able to replace Sine Mora from my gettinmoney account and I almost bought Hotline Miami a couple days ago.

Now I'll just wait for a game I want to expire and sign up right before.
