On an actual PSN gaming related thing, I tried out the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow; Mirror of Fate; Chamber of Secrets; Balls of Fire HD demo last night.

Holy hell the rumble. I don't know if the controller reactions were programmed by a lonely housewife or what, but almost every thing you do makes the controller rumble. It's quite distracting. Also the demo is pretty short compared to others I've played, but game seems cool. Haven't really played a Castlevania since 4 on the SNES.

Finished BioShock 1 last night for the first time; took about three nights.  I think I might skip BioShock 2 for now and jump straight into Infinite.. though the prospect of wielding a drill sounds interesting.

I liked Bioshock 2 more than Infinite, FWIW. All 3 are very good games though.
Bioshock 2 initially felt like an empty cash-in, but I gave it a chance and I'm glad I did. It was really challenging and the story was actually decent, a totally worthy sequel although the original is still the better of the two IMO.

Infinite is a hard game to compare to the previous games. Its a total reimagining of the Bioshock formula but it's a masterpiece. All 3 worth playing, some of the best gaming experiences of this generation.

Hatsune Miku is coming to the Vita in NA/EU:

SEGA of America, Inc. and SEGA Europe today announced that Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA f will be available for digital download on the PlayStation Vita handheld entertainment system in North America and in Europe via Playstation Network. The launch of Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA F on the PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system was the first console game released for the franchise and was well received in the West. As a result of this successful reception, the PlayStation Vita version of the game will be available for players on-the-go and will offer the same songs and features of the original version in early 2014.

I also thought 2 was better than Infinite (from a gameplay perspective, Infinite still has the better story and arguably art design), but I do think you might be better off going straight to Infinite because a lot of 2 feels similar to Bioshock 1. Not that that's a bad thing since 1 was great, but playing them back to back I can see most people getting burned out and not enjoying 2 nearly as much.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2013/11/06/dc-universe-online-on-ps4-your-questions-answered/

This DC Universe Online Q&A has some good info in it. They're doing something of a relaunch to coincide with the PS4's launch by adding a lot of new features and tweaks. The PS4 version is on the same servers as the PS3 version, so you can use the same characters and play with friends on the other platform.

Here's a trailer for Hatsune Miku on Vita:

I haven't played 2 yet but after picking it up from the recent sale I look foward to returning to rapture. I, like many, played the first game years ago and then played Infinite. Bioshock 1 is one of my favorite games of this generation. Infinite was a really ambitious game and a treat for the eyes but the gameplay felt a little unbalanced.

**Minor Spoilers** As soon as I picked up the sniper rifle my play style changed completely. I didn't feel the need to use vigors as much and I got into the habit of hanging back and cherry picking half the enemies from a safe distance. It was not until the last area that I decided to swap the hand cannon for the volley gun for close up targets. I have yet to play the 1999 mode but I have other games in need of my attention. If 2 is even half as good as the original I'll be content.

Bioshock 1 & 2 feel so...dated, though. Infinite is just such a feast for the senses. I messed up and played it before the others and it was painful. I still wonder why everyone says 1 has the better story, though.

has anyone been playing U3 multiplayer recently? just wondering how active the community is there (and if it's worth downloading)

thanks in advance :D

I bought Infinite the day after I finished 1. Decided to go ahead with 2 first still because I didn't want Togo backwards mechanics wise. Glad I did. Unlike some elements of 2 better, but the general feel and first time in Rapture/ dealing with little sisters and big daddies puts 1 above it. Loved setting and story in Infinite also, but fighting wasn't my favorite with only carrying two guns and enemies seeming...,different. Very excited to return to Rapture next week in the DLC, though.

Looks like a lot of love for both Bioshock 2 and Infinite. :)  Might have to burn through both of those one after another if they're both as great as everyone says.

I just played it a couple days back and had very little issue finding matches in multiple different modes, I'd say that it's definitely worth downloading. It's still lots of fun and all the DLC maps are free now.

Wonder if Miku Vita will get a physical release.
Considering there is already a sequel already being made (a timed demo was released a few weeks ago) I'd say they'll wait and see what the digital sales will be and then make a decision whether or not to make the sequel a physical release.

:/ if you got a problem with cheapy, why not just join neogaf or SD? Why b*tch here in his house?
K. Not a single response from jaymoney or captaintek, lol. What's come over everyone? Impending ps4 launch? Wal-mart?

I just updated my vita and that new "PS4 Link" button taunts me. Ohhh, it taunts me bad. Plan is to hold out until next fall, but it might prove more difficult than I thought.

Jay is silenced and I'm still trying to figure out what that was.

Also...polygon, core features, burning piss, and the other stuff.

But back to that cooler conversation we were having about Ass Creed. I'm playing 2 for the plat right now and I have to say I am so very annoyed that I can't skip cutscenes. I know the story already, having played on 360 way back. I feel like in this gen, skipping cutscenes should be a co...well, you guys know. A co...mmon thing in every game.

Did I miss something here?
Probably just a wrong-thread post since apparently nobody knows what he is referring to. Maybe he read way back where a few of us were saying Cheapy, Wombat, and Shipwreck were all Microsoft fanboys. Which they are.

Yeah skipping cutscenes needs to be available in every game. There are games from this generation that I skipped the cutscenes on my first playthrough because they were so drawn out and uninteresting to me. *cough* Mass Effect 1 *cough* Not being able to skip a cutscene when I want to drives me insane.

Mass Effect, I think you can watch one out of every 50 cutscenes and still have 100% grasp on what's going on.

I'm not sure about ME2, but it looks like in ME3 you can you can choose at the beginning to play it as more of an action game, which I assume cuts out a lot of the dialogue. I need to do more research to make sure I'm not missing out on too much by choosing that option, but that sounds great to me.

I hated Remember Me, Unskippable cutscenes

This past weekend I completed episodes 1-5 of Telltale's The Walking Dead and I loved the story... but I hated when at the end of every episode they did a lengthy preview with "Next time on The Walking Dead"... Luckily, I was able to pause the game and exit to the main menu so I did not have see an entire summary of each episode before I played it. Sadly, I think doing that skips the stats screen at the end of every chapter.

I don't remember them being that excessive, weird. Not weird that I don't remember, just that you are weird.

That sounds to me like a compliment, so thanks! I thought the previews gave enough away for me to able to guess where things were headed.. And yes, I am weird. It's a big pet peeve of mine, TV shows especially, when the next installment/episode is previewed. For shows like TWD and Breaking Bad I've always made a point to avoid them.

Dragon's Dogma free? Might be one of my favorite PS+ perks this year (Galaga Legions DX being another that immediately comes to mind). I've had the original on my pickup list forever and have waited extra long since the DLC included version released. Now if I could just pick up a cheap copy of Asura's Wrath on 360 I think I'll have picked up all the retail release games I've been after in the last couple of years for the current gen.

I just muted the TV and stared at the ceiling for a couple of minutes...
