Yeah, I hated that as well. I also did the mute and look away thing. It's probably not as bad if you're playing the episodes a month or two apart, but when it's back to back I want none of it. I guess I'm supposed to be hyped by it but I just want to avoid the potential spoilers. I also skip regular TV previews for the same reason.

Maybe one day Telltale will stop doing it. I don't even have cable anymore (yeah, one of those people) so at least I can avoid it there.

 
PSA for all you trophy hunters on this thread, http://www.truetrophies.com is open for registration.  I signed up last night and the interface is slick.  They scale a trophy's point value by how difficult it is to achieve (based on the number of people who have the trophy).

I played the demo of AW on PS3 recently. I'd been pretty interested. I'm glad I played it, though, because the combat was absolutely atrocious. I found it to be completely unplayable. Kind of bummed because I like the ridiculously over-the-top action style...but that just wasn't going to be a fun game at all.

I was hoping there would be separate lists and not shared if they did the Vita version. Looks like that isn't happening. I think I'll be playing it on PS3.

I am just not a fan of their website setup. It is possible I am just too used to the PS3T.org setup to like anything else though.

 
Unskippable cut scenes are one of the biggest pet peeves of mine.  It can't really be that hard to add the option to skip them.  I just think its lazy development. Of course I have no idea since i am not a dev, but from a user perspective it seems like one of the easiest implementations.  I have quit several games without finishing them just because of this shit. 

Speaking of lazy, I am very disappointed in Dragons Dogma.  The draw distance and low res graphics are horrible. This is really hard to get used to especially after coming from GTA5. Nearly every bucket or barrel just pops into view 10 feet from the character.

I've been in the beta (as well as a member of True Achievements) and the site is pretty cool. I really like it. I still like PSN Profiles more, but both are fun time killers for trophy hunters.

Asura's Wrath's combat is anything but atrocious. It's not quite on the Bayonetta levels of amazing, but it's definitely serviceable and fun.

Sorry for OT post, but might be fun to have some healthy competition with folks on this thread rather than playing follow the troll for a change...

I'm surprised anyone would take the time to delete saves, even for games they no longer own. A save is like 400kb. The two seconds it would take to delete it makes it more trouble than it's worth.

I wish they had made a way to combine trophies and achievements into one ultra-score. That'd be awesome.

I delete every game save I have when I am done with a game, sometimes I let it sit on my cloud saves since I have plus, but rarely leave it for long. I don't like clutter though. In reality or digital form.

Well, the demo was all about either QTE or shooting missiles out of the air by moving some stupid cursor around and firing off attacks. It was terrible. The other chunk of the demo was a one-on-one fight with some guy, but it just felt like the controls were very poorly handled. Maybe if it'd been a demo of the early, simpler gameplay it would have been more approachable.

I see. I'm pretty sure I know what part you're talking about. I actually thought it was kind of cool, but ya those controls were pretty awkward.

Same. Although it has caused me to lose several saves (uh, over the last... 20+ years... so maybe one every 5 years...) that I should have kept.

 
If I may, I'd like to vent. I'm not sure if these are part of Sony's CORE concerns going into next gen, but I hope they're resolved eventually:

-PSN download speeds. I'm not sure if it's the actual console, or PSN, but the shit is slow. I started re-downloading games last night since I mistakenly reformatted my freaking HDD 3 weeks ago (long story), and it apparently crawled while I was sleeping. :whistle2:( I should be getting at least 20x the down speed.

-The beep when turning the PS3 on. Unnecessary , and doesn't allow for inconspicuous gaming. 

-Day long network maintenance periods that require complete suspension of services!

I just joined true trophies. True achievements actually has a decent message board and community, so maybe I'll be more active this time around, though I suppose "enjoying trophies" is a prerequisite. And I'm not in last place...for once in my life. Sorry, beans, whoever you are.

I am partially convinced that download speed is system specific. I have not a launch PS3, but second or 3rd iteration of the fat PS3 upstairs, in the room above the wireless router (which is on the first floor) and I have a PS3 slim on the first floor in the living room, 2 rooms away from the wireless router and the slim consistently has 3-5x the download speed of my fat PS3.

Seriously lol...who comes up with these lame pricing models? Applying a lone small percentage to all games on sale shows me they put little to no effort. All-in-all, they should be embarrassed to call this sale a "knock-out" when it very clearly is one of the weakest ones ever.

But for all of you lucky (and insane) enough to not have Guacamelee, please do so now. The best metroid vania games since Arkham City, best sidescrolling metroidvania since those amazing DS castlevania games.

lolol, no one is "restricting" it. My girlfriend and dog manage to often impede it, though. Sometimes, I just want to be alone, in the dark...with my Move wand and Dragon's Crown. I imagine this will prove more difficult with kids.

Never have any issues with PSN downloads. Download games on the regular due to being an active member of another thread here, and they always download quickly. For me, the issue is installing. I usually have a problem where the install of a game takes at least as long, if not longer than the download of the game. Downloaded Batman AO recently, and the 15gbs took about 45 min to download, and then almost 2.5 hours to install. I guess neither of these concerns will be valid anymore since PS4 is touting the whole play while you download feature. It worked with TLoU, I think you could play at like 7% downloaded or something like that.

Beep on PS3 and the ding on 360 are dumb.

I thought the maintenance only took services away from people who haven't logged in for the last 24 hours?

I can never tell when Breakfuss is being serious.

My PS3 both downloads and installs fine.  Though it does seem to install a little slower since I installed my 750GB hard drive.

Why don't you guys just download and install things over night?  That's usually what I do.

I'm not the OP, but... I get too scared that my PS3 is going to overheat, unless there's only a bit (a few GB or less) left to download. It's happened at least a few times before that I've woken up to a PS3 frozen on the automatic update screen. :X

Seems to be less than an issue since I bought a cooling pad for it, though. Not a single instance of overheating since then, but it still worries me if I forget to pause a big download before going to bed.

I've had a vanilla copy of Dragon's Dogma in my rotation for the past week or so since buying it during GameFly's last monthly sale.

My first encounter with the griffin took me by suprise, with Gran Soren guards spawning alongside my character outside of Gran Soren's southern exit. It was apparent that a monstrous beast was afoot when the in-game soundtrack shifted dramatically in tone. The guards were handily dispatched with a combined assault of a swift swoop followed by brief mauling. Once the guards were disposed of, the griffin actually took to the sky and 'escaped' before my group of pawns and I (mage) could thouroughly test our mettle. However, my second run-in with a griffin began by luring it to land...on land and setting it wings ablaze as necessary -- between targetting its head while my pawns properly pummeled it as well. Upon the battle's conclusion, I stood victorious the griffin's corpse seeped into the earth leaving behind its blood-covered carcass. :bouncy:

After looking into what exactly Dark Arisen brings to the base game, I may take you up on sending a friend request to use your pawn when I get around to Bitterblack Isle.

Joined! I'm sure I'll maintain a seat near the bottom. I don't play nearly as much as I'd like to and my time is always divded between all the different consoles. I have no idea how I managed to squeeze in 110+ hours in Pokemon Y since launch...

 
Damn, I'm down to 6th now. 40000 points ahead of handsomepete (I think) and 72000 points behind cervezarun (who is that?). I need someone to add near me so I can have some competition haha.
