What's up with Fatal Frame and Fatal Frame 2 being $4 instead of $10? I don't see it listed as a sale here or anywhere online. I see that it was sold at that price during sales months ago, but this is mid-December. I bought the first one and want to buy the second one but can't tell when the sale will end.

Also, Okami HD is $13.99, hope that is its perma-price.

 
Does anyone know if Skullgirls Demo has an upsell screen? I'm not completely sold on it, but I figured if I can download the demo... I will be able to choose if I want to purchase it later? If not fuck it...

If you're not sure then wait, it will be back we just don't know when. They've got a new publisher and are working on submitting new builds for certification and both they and Sony have said it will be back once this all gets sorted.

More that they fucked up the money thing for Tomb Raider so badly that selling 3.4 million copies in its first month wasn't enough.

They can easily give away FFXIV for free for the rest of time because they make their money on the subscriptions, not the upfront cost.

I was badly disappointed by GOW:A. We don't really do multiplayer online, so YMMV.

They were so busy shoehorning in multiplayer, that they just didn't deliver as good a GOW experience as even the old PS2 games did. I expected something better than GOW3, and we resold the game after going through single player in just a few days (Yeah its also short as well.)

Work $10? Probably, but there are so many GOOD games out there that deserve your attention instead. Try Guacamelee if you haven't, because its a great beat em up platformer with some puzzle elements, is very stylish, and is big fun playing local co op as well.

Well said. If you have nothing to measure it against, it fells like a decent game. The older games and collections though are a much better investment though if you don't have them, and earned a perm place in our game library.

 
I liked FFXIV enough that I bought it on the PC and PS3 (and excited when I was told it'd be a free upgrade to the PS4).. but I haven't touched it in a couple of months... it just didn't have that stick to it.  I don't like the endgame raiding aspect games have taken.  

Well, lemme rephrase, I'm an adult with a life and a job.  I can't commit every night 9-midnight to do maintenance/grinding/keying necessary to attack a boss once per week for a 1:2000 chance at a drop I need in order to move on to the next boss.

What time does the PSN roll over the new deals?  1PM EST?

Its actually surprisingly one of my Fav games of the year, and was easily worth the $15 we paid for it. I wish we'd see more stylish well done platformers like this.

 
Yeah for fixes to the Pinball Arcade engine! Hopefully the ball no longer occasionally goes right through the flipper, or completely out of the pinball machine. Doh!

It probably won't. I forgot how much I hate the bats because the timing for the whip is a pain in the ass. Also the rocks that shoot arrows at you and take two hearts suck ass. Also I got one of those "Snake" levels on the best run I had, and I forgot what that meant, and I ended up falling down that stupid snake pit. That's when I switched to Tearaway.

 
My favorite death in Spelunky was when in the ice caves I stupidly stepped onto one of those jump pads while a shotgun was already bouncing up and down on it. I got clonked on the head by the shotgun and then helplessly bounced up and down while repeatedly getting hit on the head by the shotgun until I was dead. Simultaneously infuriating and hilarious. LOL.

Honestly, I like NHL 14, but those two games are vastly superior to anything EA's NHL series will ever offer. If you don't play NBA or Fifa you won't play NHL.

I beat the first 2 on ps2, played 3 for maybe 2 days before getting rid of it. So I should skip this one and get the bundle with the 5 games instead for the wife to play?

 
I liked sports games when they were simple. The more realistic and complex they get the less I like them. Old school is best. Especially that old arcade baseball game that had a sideways springy joystick you used to swing the bat. That game was super fun. I don't remember the name.

For football you've got to go with the old atari arcade game with the Xs and Os and trackballs. That was the best!

Work $10? Probably, but there are so many GOOD games out there that deserve your attention instead. Try Guacamelee if you haven't, because its a great beat em up platformer with some puzzle elements, is very stylish, and is big fun playing local co op as well.

By the way, hopefully you realize you can look up and down while pressing and holding down or up while standing. That's super important. Also you can throw a rope down by pressing down while standing at an edge and then throwing the rope.

Last night I downloaded Tomb Raider Bundle. That's the first time I've really noticed PSN being super slow for downloads. For the most part its seemed fine in the past, but that took hours. I don't know how many as I went to bed before it was finished. I feel sorry for anyone that bought Ni No Kuni as a download….

Yep, I would. After the epically huge battles on GOW3, Ascention felt like a single player story tacked on to multiplayer crap. (Don't get me wrong.. I like multiplayer for multiplayer games, but downgrading a single player game to encourage multiplayer areana type stuff was like a slap in the face.)

Why did you quit GOW3, BTW? We LOVED it.

It just felt stale to me, there wasn't a huge upgrade in combat and I didn't get into the story. It felt like go here, big battle. I didn't think there was much cohesion.

Yes, I was aware of the first part. Good to know about throwing a rope down, that will be useful. This time I'm going to be more open to looking things up online (both to figure out what things do and general tips). I generally don't like games that basically require additional research online so I didn't bother with it the first time I played it on 360.

For football you've got to go with the old atari arcade game with the Xs and Os and trackballs. That was the best!

That's why I mainly stick to the more arcadey sports games. I still play The Bigs on the PS3 and PSP. I'd also take NBA Jam over NBA 2K14. The old Nintendo Baseball is still a favorite of mine as well.
