Better to placate yourself by buying into whatever they want you to buy, right? That has more far-reaching implications than you seem to realize.

But good for you, I guess. Be thankful you don't have much to complain about in your life. If I could afford certain things, I wouldn't complain about them either.

What makes Plus worth it for me is the Cloud Saving.  I almost had a meltdown when my launch PS3 gave me a YLOD back in February (RIP Backward-Compatibility) because I wasn't using the Cloud Saving with my PS3 (I was only using it with my PS4.)  I would have lost all my progress in all my PS3 games, but I got lucky and my friend heated the system enough for me to be able to turn it on just long enough to send all the saves to cloud.  When my PS4's HD died back in June, I would have been in the same situation there too if I hadn't been using the automatic cloud storage the whole time.

I almost had a meltdown when my launch PS3 gave me a YLOD back in February (RIP Backward-Compatibility) because I wasn't using the Cloud Saving with my PS3 (I was only using it with my PS4.) I would have lost all my progress in all my PS3 games, but I got lucky and my friend heated the system enough for me to be able to turn it on just long enough to send all the saves to cloud. When my PS4's HD died back in June, I would have been in the same situation there too if I hadn't been using the automatic cloud storage the whole time.

I know that pain. There are game saves on the PS3 that I lost when my PS3 melted and I didn't have Plus set up then so no Cloud Save.

I just can't bring myself to play those games again and go through the dozens and sometimes hundreds of hours I put in to them.

On an unrelated note, I personally believe I get $5 worth of value each month on average from PS+.

So, I'm a sheep, I guess?

My whole point was, if you don't agree with Sony's practices (or whatever), stop supporting them and allowing them to trample all over you. If you feel it has value to you, then all the power to you.

Oh well, not all is lost...Dragooned is on sale!

My original comment was agreeing with others that I wasn't planning on automatically renewing my Plus because it no longer holds any value to me. And there is more power in numbers, as far as getting their attention.

The "sheep" comment was in response to that other guy's long and blustering post which seemed to revel in complacency. You don't need to tell me which side you're on.

What is so great about Dragooned? Or, are people joking about it being a good game? Because, it seems like Sony pushes it pretty hard in sales, and those avatars are super ugly.

Just get the Gold version. I'm playing Odyssey now, and it's got it's claws in my deep. Great game. Think I got the gold edition for 50ish during a sale earlier in the year and I'm happy with the purchase.
 
Which are the best recent assasin's creeds? I played the first... 3? I think? I own black flag. I like the setting for this greek one, and the american revolution one but dont own either. Are any heads and tails better [or worse] than the others?
 
Better yet, just get the base game for $15 physically instead of supporting the spit-in-your-face terribleness of the Legacy of the First Blade DLC. Fate of Atlantis isn’t worth encouraging Ubisoft to do this kind of shit again.

Syndicate is awesome, great setting, great style, two main characters, some of the best missions of the series (of the entries I've played), easily my favorite AC game. It crashes a lot though.

ACIII has a great setting and vibe, but the story/main character isn't everyone's cup of tea and many consider it the worst of the series mainline games from a narrative standpoint. I dug it however...if just for the time period.

AC: Origins is a fantastically beautiful bore with its dull as dishwater mission design and redesigned combat. It's honestly one of the most uneventful open world games I've ever played.

AC Origins (Egypt) and AC Odyssey (Greece) are the "new generation" Assassin's Creed games and both are good with gorgeous graphics.

The standouts of the older games are the Ezio trilogy (AC2/Brotherhood/Revelations) and AC4 Black Flag. Some of the others are good too; of course it varies based on personal taste.

But I realize everybody is cynical and jaded and we all bow down to our corporate overlords who control our every whim and the Almighty Dollar™. Is there a reason the BF deals aren't showing up on the app? As in, there is no actual banner or section for them? The only thing that shows up is the Black Friday Top Sellers which is really just the EA and Ubisoft deals.

The weirdest thing to me about Dragoneed is after a year and a half on the store, it has exactly ONE rating and it's five stars.

I sunk over 100 hours into AC:O, IMO it's one of the best games this generation. It's more "The Witcher 3" than an Assassins Creed game. If you have even a remote interest in Open World games, Greek mythology, or history, it's a dream come true.

It depends on your taste. I've enjoyed all of them, but they can be slog fests if you try to complete all the locations and such. Black flag is a lot of fun. You can skip rogue and unity. Syndicate is awesome. Origins and Odyssey are more open world action rpg than traditional assassin games. Beautiful graphics and lots to see and do.

I haven't finished Death Stranding yet but I'm also thinking GOTY. It's honestly one of the most compelling games I've played in a long time. I want to see how the story progresses as well as what cool new piece of gear I'm going to unlock next. The gear progression is very well done in my opinion. You start out weak yes, but now I am
charging up mountains in my level 3 all-terrain skeleton
. Some story missions have been a struggle but man did I feel like I accomplished something when I finally reached my goal. Now I am not a fanboy by any means but I'm not sure if anybody else but Kojima could have made this kind of game this good.

I'm with you except I really liked the side scrolling ones as well, liked how each Assassin had their own special abilities. I've platinumed all of them except the for a couple that had multiplayer specific trophies and Odyssey which I haven't played yet.

Oof, that's a pretty bad month. Anyone who wanted Titanfall 2 could have had it, it has been $6 digital and was free with every purchase at Best Buy last year if I remember correctly. And Monster Energy Supercross is an average niche game that few will care about.

Interesting note though is that I think Titanfall 2 might be the first EA plus game since the falling out over EA Access. A sign that allowing EA Access on PlayStation has mended that relationship?

Just saw the Game with Gold lineup and that is definitely the superior offering this time around.

Not gonna lie, if given the choice between getting the free monthly PS+ games and getting more regular, deeper PS+ discounts on games, I would take the discounts in a heartbeat. It seems like in the past few years, that aspect of the membership has suffered the most. Plus, for most of us on CAG, I feel like it’s probably a rare month where we don’t have at least one of the games given away.

Completely agree. I’d much rather have better sales than the offering we’ve gotten over the last year. It’s been pretty pathetic when compared to years prior.

I wonder what next generation will have in store for PS+ and XBLA Gold.

Really a lot of the subscription services are starting to compete with each other in a way that hasn't been particularly compelling because they conflict rather than truly offering unique value. For example, right now I have origin access, PS+ (for another couple of days), Game Pass Ultimate, and free epic store games. There is such a huge overlap. I think I have Rime on all of them.

Guess you just gonna lose your bowels then. They gave out deals with double discount for a couple weeks now black friday deals. Should be enough, I'm already eh about not get some games on DD because I didnt have ps+ last week. It'll be other times to get the game we want at a good price.
