It's inbetween. Atb was always a mixed bag since it's not really turn based but it's not entirely real time either since you have to wait on the gauges to fill to take actions. This is basically an advancement of the 12 13-2/13-3 titles where it's more actiony with less waiting periods like 13 had and you can control character movement and such.

I miss the X-2 style. Probably the best turn-based JRPG combat I’ve seen.

I mean, everything about that game other than gameplay was gratuitous, but the gameplay was great.

Absolutely! The job system and battles were fantastic. Too bad the characters and story were cringe. It was nice to see Tidus with the best ending though. Oh, and pummeling monsters in a Moogle suit.

Just wanted to bitch really quick about how much of a pain it is to use the store on PC when using a VPN. I can purchase from Xbox and Nintendo without any hassle, but Sony doesn't even let me sign in most of the time. I'd buy from the mobile app, but every time I have to rely on paypal to cover the balance it tells me I can only do it on a PC. It's just unnecessarily convoluted.

I liked some aspects of it but not others. Like the numerous class options were cool. But some of them were guide dang it to get and a number of them were trash. I was also sad they nerfed magic so severely. Gunner class was sweet and I loved alchemist, mascots and especially dark knights. Samurai and gambler were pretty neat too.

I enjoyed it but I kinda like 13-3 better. If they could mix the two that would be ace in my book. As I don't feel like 13-3s combat should exclude party members or how restrictive its dress spheres were and on the reverse end the combat was somewhat too hectic in x-2.

If the flooring store opens back up it will probably be vinyl plank flooring. My girlfriend’s cat has ruined my carpet. I was already gearing up to buy it before but the quarantine came just a little too soon. We had each made a list of what we liked online and had it narrowed down to only what made both lists but hadn’t had a chance to go pick stuff out together in person.

I'm paranoid about spending it, because you know that if Trump wins in November they are going to want that money back. It's really just a way to bribe people to vote for him for a second term. Bush did the exact same thing when he was president and we were facing a recession. And, back then we were expected to pay it back. So, even though they are saying that we don't have to right now. I expect that next tax season, we will all owe the IRS an extra $1,200.

If the law specifies that it's not taxable income, the Constitution doesn't allow them to "never mind" about repayment. Ex post facto legislation is prohibited. If the law says "have monies and no taxes on it," they can't legally walk that back. It'd fail both contract law and the ex post facto test, I suspect.

Unfortunately, this current administration has shown that they don't care at all about the Constitution, and they will do whatever they please.
 
Has anybody even recieved their checks yet? I filed my taxes back in March, and still haven't got mine.

Couple of things here, the Bush stimulus cane in 08 which was his final year of his second term, so he had no chance of being re-elected. Second, while they didn’t disclose that check as just being an advance on your tax return which it was, they have specifically said this is not a tax advance. Lastly, if you don’t have funds to cover this if it did happen to be a tax advance then I would probably put it in savings anyway just because we haven’t even begun to see the ramifications of the economic collapse.

I know it will all be ok and I will land on my feet somewhere. It just sucks in general to have to deal with all of this for everyone.

 
Companies are firing people because of the virus but I believe they will be opportunistic and when the virus is gone will make people fight to get their job back at a reduced wage with reduced benefits. Any company promising to bring people back when it’s over should not be taken at their word. That is of course if said companies survive. Scary times.

My plan was to buy a PS5 once it has it's first sale. Which I'm guessing would have been Black Friday 2021. But now I'm thinking if Bloodborne 2 comes out before then then I'll just buy the PS5... at that time. But who knows if the next-gen consoles will still launch this Holiday season. Maybe they'll get pushed back to next Spring, and a Black Friday 2021 sale would be less likely.

Other than that I might just buy wireless ear buds. Air pods or a direct competitor.

People just do not understand the damage that has already been done, to say nothing of the insanity of continuing this for many months. There will be a delayed response coming as companies that can't survive will go under as well. They're already gone, they just don't know it yet.

 
I don't think anyone wants this to continue, but there's not much of another choice. Until a cure/vaccine is found, if you don't isolate, you could die. If you don't die, you could be a carrier and pass it on to your children, elderly family members, or anyone else you know with health issues (like cancer or diabetes.)  We can all say businesses should be up and running as usual, and then it will spread like wildfire and potentially wipe out a good portion of humanity.  Here in NY alone, we have close to 200,000 cases and 10,000 deaths so far. Thank goodness I live upstate, I'd be freaking out living down in the city with close to, if not over, 10 million people across all five boroughs especially when I have diabetes and catching it for me would be a death sentence.

SE seems to be able to handle their sequels in a timely manner. It’s the initial product that tends to take forever to come out. FFXIII it took like 6 years to make, but the two sequels each came two years apart following that. I think their biggest issues are the initial development time with the game engines.

I hope you're right, and it seems logical. It should technically take a lot less time to make sequels, especially if the project was greenlit before release so your team can move onto the next one right away. Square knows they aren't taking much of a risk with FF7R so they did exactly that. Engine/production lines are already set up. No need to rehire a lot of positions. The infrastructure is already there. A lot of the assets are reused with modifications for consistency. The creative work is mostly done.

In the case of the Mass Effect trilogy, the third title came out 5 years after the original and I think that was a much more fraught situation. It's probably going to be the best comparison to FF7R's release schedule if I had to guess.

the colossal difference being the sequels are low budget low effort asset flips. ff7r isn't a sequel to an existing game but a game divided up into parts. They can't do what they did with the 13 trilogy or ffx-2 and reuse/copy paste nearly as much because of how it is designed. Now like others said if they were smart about it they'd already have multiple teams working on them simultaneously.

Yeah, like KH3, that came out really quickly after KH2.
