I decided to replay dogma as a new class since Assassin got boring playing it twice, now im choosing the route of magickal archer... but the way to build one apparently is to play as other classes the entire game. the hell?

Stat increases when you level up is determined by what class you are. Unfortunately Magick Archer stat growth is only average until level 100 and then 101-200 is complete and utter garbage. That said it doesn't really matter much in a practical sense because of periapts, they give you stat boosts for 60 seconds and if you use 4 of them it's around a 2.2x increase to whatever stat you used them for. Even if your base stats are crap you can pop 4 of those and just destroy anything in the game most of the time.

But if you're looking for advice, MA is my favorite class in the game so what I always do when starting a new one is play it until level 100 (only changing to other classes to get their passive abilities) and then at level 100 I just swap to something else and quickly grind to 200. There is a pretty fast way to level up in the DLC area so it's not really a big deal.

You should play Dragon's Dogma however you want to play Dragon's Dogma. There are min-maxing builds, sure, but those aren't super fun, since generally you're just playing one of three classes for 200 levels and then switching to what you actually want to play; they also don't significantly add to your endgame power, since the large majority of that will be from BBI equipment, anyway. Magick Archer is a bit problematic, since its stat growth is less than ideal for... well, anything; but seriously, it won't make that much difference in the end, unless you end up playing Warrior for 200 levels and then switching to Sorcerer. Even then it's doable.

Myself, I tend to just switch to different classes a lot because I'm ADHD, and I've never felt like it impacted the difficulty of the game in any meaningful fashion.

Ahahahaha, after every single news outlet reported that faked image of Dying Light and Dark Souls: Remastered, I couldn't do anything but laugh hysterically at what a shit offering they actually came up with for this month.

Farming Simulator 19 was a giveaway on Epic Game Store so total dud there. As decent as it is, I'd give Cities: Skylines about a $1 valuation on PC, $0 on console since the game is nearly unplayable with controllers and is all about mods etc.

You'd think they'd at least soften the blow by not picking them both from the same extremely-niche genre.

I remember all the buzz about the N64 Castlevania games was pretty negative, but if I remember correctly, Legacy of Darkness was supposed to be the “true” version of the game that the developers wanted to release but couldn’t because of some deadline BS with Nintendo/Konami. I played the base game on Xbox Game Pass (this was well over a year ago for those keeping score between two "free services") and the base game gave me plenty of fun for dozens of hours. I can see how DLC would enhance the experience, but by the time I had sunk that much into the game, I probably wouldn't have missed it too much and was ready to move on anyway (I guess you could say this for most DLC for any game, though).

Thank you. I'm going to try out the base game today just to make sure that I like it before I pull the trigger. I found the Ultimate Edition disc last night in my backlog still sealed. Yeah, this absolutely. If you're looking for story stuff just avoid the dlc, it's a complete waste of time. But if you want some incredibly fun and challenging content then it is absolutely worth the price. You get 14 amazing boss fights, the final one in particular easily being my favorite boss in any game in a long time. Then there is the pro code system that allows you to replay the game with different restrictions and you get scored based on how many restrictions you have enabled per boss fight.

Reception to the dlc was mixed but only based on interests, people who wanted story stuff were disappointed but those of us who loved KH2FM endgame content absolutely love this update because it's just more of that except way better. And to make it even better the devs went out of their way to release a free balance patch alongside the dlc that fixed nearly every minor gripe the hardcore community had with combat mechanics. New combo modifiers for base Sora, a magic finisher that didn't suck, can dodge cancel finishers, updated hitbox for Sora's block, stuff like that.

But yeah, don't buy it looking for new story content, that is not the focus of the dlc at all.

I've got $12.39 in my account, and I'm considering the standard edition of Onrush for $2.49 and the Diablo III: Rise of the Necromancer DLC for $7.49 since I bought a new copy of Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition on clearance late last year that I have yet to open. Thoughts?

Do you have PS+? If so, double check to see if you have Onrush already, because it was a free PS+ game late last year.

I'm excited for the PS Plus city simulator and farming simulator. Something new from what I normally play. The only criticism I have is that 2 sim games in one month is too much.

I see; it's just a matter of knowing what you're getting. I guess most of the people complaining that it's "just some boss fights" were expecting more in the way of story.

Streets of Rage 4 is now available on XB and PS stores in the US.  I played it last night on the PC (since it is free with Gamepass) and it is amazing if you like the old games.  The art is fantastic, the levels are great and the sound is impressive.  Great music and the attacks have that great hard hitting sound that gives them weight.  I played all the way through and the length is decent, a bit longer than SoR 2 I'd say.  The levels have good variety and a few cool touches (like Roo tending bar on one level).  The bosses are imaginative, with one being very familiar.  And the between level graphics give a fairly silly story, but give you good reason to be in the levels you are in.

One thing it doesn't really tell you is you can catch items in the air by pressing the pick up button - and that includes thrown items, both from you and at you.

FF7 is great, especially if you are nostalgic at all for the original

Negative take, I’d argue that it’s ONLY great if you are nostalgic at all. As someone who never played the original, I forced myself thru FF7R and didn’t find anything redeeming about it outside the music and combat system. My main draw for RPGs is characters, story, world/lore, and this game does a terrible job at easing in new players to care about any of it. I didn’t care about Midgar, I didn’t care about the characters at all, and the story is poorly told. Also, character introductions, especially villains, is horribly executed. I’m sure it’s great if you are already into the lore/characters but for someone new, there is no reason to care about any of it without the context of the original.

Should i buy ff vii remake or ps now???

PS Now is really good, especially at the current price. You get access to like 600 game, including a ton of locked away (inaccessible on PS4 otherwise) PS3 games. You can download any PS4 games on the service but have to stream PS3 games. The streaming isn’t perfect but works smooth and effectively. And they typically have 3-5 AAA titles that rotate every month. I didn’t think I would use the service much but I have been streaming a ton of PS3 games lately and have been loving it. Check the library and if you’re interested in the games and have a decent speed internet to support streaming, I would 100% recommend.

Thank you. I'm going to try out the base game today just to make sure that I like it before I pull the trigger. I found the Ultimate Edition disc last night in my backlog still sealed. I paid $9 for it at Walmart last November. So, the Necromancer DLC is almost as much as I paid for the base game! LOL!

On the other hand, I didn't find the class very fun at all. And the necromancer has a smaller number of spells than the other classes, so if you don't like one or 2 spells, there aren't a ton of other options.

Also - any actual deals on PSN credit anywhere? The PSN trading thread on here is pretty dry, and Raise is giving the bare minimal discount (around 2-3%) recently.

Too bad you don't have PS+. Game is fun as hell playing multiplayer. The game can be a bit repetitive playing solo. I want to say if you played Borderlands before then you will understand what Diablo is all about. Minus FPS elements of course. I think I love Borderlands so much because it reminds me of Diablo. I played Diablo 3 mostly on XBox 360/One, but I picked up the ultimate evil edition for PS4 on sale a little whie back. Have not had a chance to play it really other than playing the first few quests.

Been playing this today and it's a half-assed collection. Only 8 games, no online leaderboards, doesn't save local high scores unless you manually save/load your savestate, screen alignment issues in a few games that make your score clipped offscreen, and Lifeforce only has one of the Japanese versions. The arcade archives releases are much better.
