100% get Earth Defense Force and play it together. I'd suggest getting EDF5 but if that's too pricy, EDF 4.1 is still damn great and is only 10 bucks.

As long as you’re not giving them objects they could hurt themselves (and for preference, damage anything around them) with, I don’t think there’s really a “too early” for video games, as long as you’re curating the game selection and making sure they’re getting plenty of exposure to other kinds of stimuli. Obviously before a certain point of development, very young kids may not have the coordination or understanding to handle more than the simplest games, but in terms of absolute age, it’s hard to draw a cut off line.

Still, at a young age, a video game is really little more than a toy, so as long as it isn’t presenting material you consider objectionable and you don’t let it become all they’re interested in, I’d argue video games are great for kids. Why I’ve been playing games like Tetris since literally before I can even remember, and I turned... out...

You know, let’s call that a bad example.

Reflexes and hand coordination wise I would honestly say I was better at 6 than I am now. I used to be able to beat stuff like mario and mega man easy peasy. Mario rpg was what encouraged my very young self to read and do addition and subtraction. The latter since you would use psychopath to show how much hp a boss had then you'd have to do the math yourself or waste turns using that. Of course my childhood is a bit of an exception since my parents were very avid gamers. My dad had numerous arcade machines, pinball machines and an air hockey table in our basement rec room. So I grew up on stuff like centipede, galaga and mr do.

I had a similar question. What age did you introduce video games to your kids? My 6.5 year old son is starting to get the itch for phone games and I was curious to what other gaming parents thought.

My stepson got introduced around 3.5, when I gave my (then girlfriend, now-ex-wife) my old Wii to play games on with him before I met him. The thought was some of the motion control games would be more kid friendly, like Wii Tennis and stuff. Around when he turned 4, he and I started playing Kirby's Epic Yarn and Mario Kart Wii on it.

By the time he was 5 we had added in Candy Crush from time to time, and got him a 3DS and the Lego Batman games. Eventually moved on to Skylanders, Disney Infinity, yada yada.

Now he's almost 10 and all the kid wants to play is Minecraft. We have weekly scheduled Xbox nights to chat and play it since they moved post-divorce.

I hate Minecraft, but I love my time with that kiddo.

I wasn't aware you could play multiplayer PS Now games without plus, that's cool. However, half of being a PS+ member is discounts and the free monthly games, so it is not the equivalent to having the full PS+ membership. With Ultimate you get all the perks of Gold, and there is no reason not to go with the Ultimate tier of Game Pass as like I said, with the rewards system it can be had with little or no money out of pocket. And also you can't beat day 1 releases on the service.

Microsoft has already forced Sony to lower their price, that's a good start but it's not enough. Let's hope they push Sony further to have better offerings like day 1 releases as well as bring back their now neutered rewards system and also include all the perks of PS+. Then we can have a real conversation about which service is better.

What kind of ridiculous logic is this lol. No one paid $1 and got 3 years of game pass. You had to already be bought into gold or normal game pass and then that time was combined together to give you an equal amount of time of Ultimate. Your cost was whatever you paid for 3 years of GP/gold + $1.

Of course you can find deals on gold that reduces the cost before you convert but pretending you only paid $1 for 3 years of ultimate is just laughable. If it was actually $1 for 3 years why did mine expire in less than 1 year? Right, because I didn't have gold. I think he may be talking about doing that with the other exploit where old cards converted to ultimate from gold maybe? I only vaguely remember the details since it sounded interesting and a steal at the price but I have enough games in my backlog that I don't need a rental streaming service.

On the subject of the 1$ thing they no longer do that from what I recall and even took it away on some peoples accounts. But again all memories from a while ago.

I looked over the lists and there is a lot of overlap with indie titles etc. Microsoft has been more aggressive courting publishers for big games (RDR2 coming soon, plenty of Bethesda titles, Capcom, etc). I can't justify having both, but then again, Xbox is my primary platform and I only play PS4 for exclusives 90% of the time.

If streaming PS3 games is something you're into and your internet connection can actually do it well, then that may actually make it worth it. Personally I'd rather just play on my PS3 and get games used locally / on ebay / PSN / etc.

Would be nice, but at least it goes on sale all the time. Best Buy regularly has $45 for 6 months worth, which includes XBL.

PS Now even at $70 a year is less of a deal without including PS+ for online play / still costs more. So the GPU bundle ends up being a better value, assuming you want PS+.

Just to back this up, I have Game Pass Ultimate until May 2022 and have paid $1 total. I didn't even have an Xbox before this was possible, I bought my first ever Xbox (a One X) just because how appealing Game Pass is and how low the bar for entry was.

I've been a PS household forever and haven't paid for PS Now once. It's anecdotal and if Sony really cared they'd have done something to get more aggressive but it seems like they should take a long look at PS Now to make it more appealing for the PS5 before Microsoft eats away at their user base.

I wasn't even talking about you, I quoted someone else if you see the previous post I made. But yeah that is my entire point, you have to buy into the system via other ways before you can take advantage of the deal. The idea you can start with absolutely nothing and spend $1 out of your wallet and get 3 years of game pass is just obviously not even close to reality.

Whether these kind of services are a good deal or not I wasn't even arguing. Personally I had GP all last summer and played like 4 games before it expired so clearly I am not the target audience for it. Doesn't mean I think it's bad though, it's just not for me. I bit on the $45 PS Now deal since it's so cheap, will see how that one goes.

The version of Castlevania SOTN in the requiem bundle is not the original PS1 version I began to play it yesterday was disappointed the dialogue between belmont and dracula at the beginning is changed I stopped playing it I also was unable to change the border around the game and noticed there are no options to change display settings not happy with purchase. Also I purchased the fire pro wrestling world yoshihiro takayama charity dlc 1 I am not allowed to download it to my ps4 when I try it shows purchased grayed out where the option to download usually is.

If you want PS1 SotN, get SotN on 360 (backwards compatible on Xbox One as well).
Grey purchased button means the content is baked into the original game and it's already unlocked within the game files for you.
