Interesting that there's a Star Wars game dedicated to star fighter combat coming when that mode in Battlefront was ignored and left to die.

 
Finally beat The Last of Us for the first time. Great game. The melee stuff isn't great as I had a number of times where I was just trying to hit an enemy and we'd both swing and miss like until I turned Joel around to the appropriate angle needed to lock on. The stealth also had some weird issues where I didn't always know if I was hidden or not at times and trying to get a grab in on an enemy that was turning around the corner of cover was hit or miss for no discernible reason. The combat gets a lot better as you get more weapons in your arsenal to give you more options for combat, though I mostly went for melee whenever possible and ended up with more melee kills than gun kills. The story's really well done with Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker putting in great performances along with the rest of the cast. I don't know if I'll have time for Left Behind, so I might just jump into Part II at the end of the week.

I just finished it last week. Have the same exact impressions and critiques you do. I'm gonna take a break and play something else for a while. I'll probably buy 2 the first time it goes on sale.

I just replayed the HD remaster over the last few weeks (originally played it on PS3), and I played Left Behind for the first time. It's not really necessary and just elaborates on stuff mentioned in the campaign, but I thought it did some stuff better than the main story, like having sections where you can avoid some big fights by hiding and making noise and turning clickers or runners on human enemies and just sitting back and watching the fireworks. But it does give some more character background and is also only a few hours long, so maybe worth checking out if you get a chance.

I'll echo the Left Behind comments. I never got around to playing it until a few days ago. There were some nice nods to the main story line in there. It's 2-4 hours max.

Just OOC, has anyone purchased the Mafia Trilogy? Just bought it tonight, and for whatever reason it says I haven’t purchased Mafia III Definitive Edition and I have to buy it again to download it lol. Was curious if anyone has the same issue.
 
Up there with Resident Evil 4 and Leisure Suit Larry III: Passionate Patti in Pursuit of the Pulsating Pectorals, The Last of Us is one of the best escort sims ever made.
 
Even on the hardest difficulty of the game (grounded) you can get by them fairly easily by just crouching and moving very slowly. They can't see you at all so it doesn't matter how close you get either as long as you don't touch them.

Yup. It turned me off the game when I initially bought it. Insta death mechanics suck ass. I just beat the get last week because I forced myself through it and the game got better. Upgrade your shiv asap and it gets somewhat manageable.

Listed my PS4 on Facebook to get the cash to put towards PS5. Quickly decided against it so I could finish HZD, Last of Us Remastered, and Uncharted Lost Legacy. Plus I got Ghosts of Tsushimo preordered and really looking forward to it, though I'm guessing it will get upgraded (boost) for PS5 so on the fence on when I want to play it.

I've considering listing mine while I can still get a decent amount of money for it, but I literally have 100s of digital games and I'm not so sure what backwards compatibility will look like next gen so I feel compelled to wait.

I rage quit while playing it on PS3 due to this. Pissed me off. Ended up buying the code for $10 or $15 on PS4 and got through it. Was glad I gave it a second chance. But yeah I can see how people who hate stealth would never finish this game.

I did the exact same thing. Glad I went back though, the story resonated a lot with me. That game stressed me out big time. I would take breaks between different gameplay portions. Lol

If it is anything like Battlefront's VR mode it will be awesome. I actually don't like flying ships in non VR in BF 2. No spacial awareness. Wish you could actually play as characters and settings from the Movies. How about a game with young Luke racing in beggars canyon (somehow he was the best rebel pilot in Star Wars), Han's Kessel Run, or taking on the death star in RotJedi? That's the VR game I want!

A lot of people are just now getting to it. I actually played it for a few hours when it came out but never got back because the PS4 was on the horizon. Then it got remastered and eventually patched for PS4Pro. Sometimes waiting years to get to something works out because you get to play the best possible version in 4K30fps. ;)

Same boat. I played passed the crazy start. Played a little in the apocalyptical world. Then put it down and never went back. I'll probably pick it up again sometime down the road when I have part 2.

Yep in the same boat, went almost all digital, I think I have 2 games on disc. I already got rid of PSVR when amazon had a trade in deal for near $200. Hoping there is a new PSVR for PS5 cause I really don't like the controllers. I'm hoping most of those games are compatible with the new PSVR.

I just hope it's not $60 bucks. It feels like we are really paying for that Kairi story content that we first should have got in Kingdom Hearts 3, and then should have got for real this time Square Enix!!!, in that overpriced DLC that was mostly rehashed cutscenes. And, we are also getting a free rhythm mini game that was also probably cut from either the main game or the DLC. And, that new Kingdom Hearts mobile game is like a weird card battle game, where you play Xehanort and his friends as tweens. It uses the exact same art style as the other one.

Streaming Left Behind before Part II's launch on Friday (link).

That was a nice 2.5 hours fleshing out a couple parts of the story, but the main game itself kind of gives you enough context and info on that stuff that it's not really necessary.

Pretty sure doom 3 once before 4.99 then went up to 5.99 the next time it was on sale.

doom 1 and 2 were once 2.49 and then were 2.99 the next time. 50% then 40% respectively.
