Sorry if this has already been asked, but are there any further discounts for the Final Fantasy games if you are a PS+ member?

Also, noticed DISSIDIA 012 Prologus FINAL FANTASY is only $1.49, is this worth it?
Did I misread or was Critter Crunch labeled as being a $1 originally? Doesn't matter considering it's only 40 cents, but I'm curious.
Yeah, it was announced on the blogcast as being $1, or something like that (I didn't actually listen to it so I can't tell you exactly how it was said).

No.

Grabbed Final Fantasy Origins, V and VI. Funny thing is, I was going to get them next week when I had some cash in my pocket. Glad this sale came along!
I'm considering getting V, but it not working on Vita is disappointing.

Also why do people seem to not like V?
V is great... It's just really frustrating and difficult.
I'm considering getting V, but it not working on Vita is disappointing.

V was different. Some people don't like the job system and it was the beginning of it. I think it's a great game, but I think that if you want to play V, or VI, then the best versions are all on the Game Boy Advance.

Origins is okay, but I wish they would hurry up and get the PSP remakes of I and II out on the Vita store.

Just because ffvii is a cult classic doesn't mean you ff/jrpg virgins will enjoy it, graphics are very dated and will test your patience. I suggest starting with one of the later games, would be a better intro to ff.

I never thought I would see the day someone would call / consider FFVII a "Cult Classic".

Its a pretty big cult alright.
I never thought I would see the day someone would call / consider FFVII a "Cult Classic".
I believe it is, while most of my and previous generations grew up with a ps1, a huge majority of gamers know nothing about ffvii and why it is considered a classic.

I tried out the lotr mobo, was very laggy, all games were mostly ai populated. Was very hard to enjoy the game, to say the least.

I'd consider it on the GBA, but I'm guessing it's a lot cheaper to get them off PSN.

Plus I like switching my save between PS3/Vita.

I might give it a shot though. It's one of the only ones I haven't played yet.

Thats just over hyped or trendy and has nothing to do with it being a cult classic.

I'm surprised about all the complaints of Guardians of Middle Earth. I got my 100% over the past 3 days and didn't have much trouble finding matches or playing games. Sometimes it'd be choppy but that would only last until the person who was causing it got disconnected.

Also, what's been asked more times in this thread? Which FF game should I get or do I need to download PS+ free games?

PS + Free games.

The FF stuff will come and go, but the stupid PS+ questions will always be here.

I thought we were finally slowing down with the FF stuff, but looks like it's starting back up again. I wish it wasn't a 2 week sale.

As for GoME, how is the gameplay? Is there a lot of strategy and a pretty hefty learning curve? I'm pretty much brand new to the genre.

I'm debating whether I want to pick up the One Piece game or not. I like Warriors Orochi but haven't near done everything in it but One Piece may never see another sale.

I heard it was pretty straight forward which most people familiar with the genre hated. It'll take a little bit to figure out what each hero is capable of but that's pretty much all the "learning curve" there is. Once you know how to best level your hero up and know how other heroes attack then you can pretty much play with the best of them. I'd give you maybe an hour of play time before you've got a solid grasp and if you're paying attention to what your teammates are doing you'll have a solid strategy grasp after a couple matches. (Assuming you get paired with some intelligent players...)

I would avoid it. The game featured a VERY small pool of playable characters (the Strawhat crew and 4 others), many important / popular characters don't appear (Shanks), the story skips over LARGE chunks of the story (Skypeia, Thriller Bark, Davy Back, Kuja, most of the starting arcs, etc) and plenty of minor problems. Also the game has already been on sale twice, so clearly it isn't doing well... we will probably see it go on sale again when Kaizoku Musou 2 releases in the US.
IAs for GoME, how is the gameplay? Is there a lot of strategy and a pretty hefty learning curve? I'm pretty much brand new to the genre.
It's pretty simple as far as MOBAs go.. for better or worse.

I was playing GoME for the first time last night/this morning, and it's pretty awesome. I enjoyed Awesomenauts so I was hoping I would like this. I love the free to ps+ MOBAs, and I have no intention of buying any dlc cuz no trophies plus i like the original guardians more than bert or bilbo/etc. Lots of fun once you get a good team and dominate. I'v tried to win as each type, and all are pretty unique and fun to use once you hold R1 and read all the text. lol

plus seems like some customizations with the belt/gems relics potions commands.

I never understand people who say this stuff. So you'd rather the thread just end up on page 3? Why complain about activity when it keeps the thread up on top and relevant?

Not like we can't ignore it and it will stop when there's a new sale and new games to talk about

i'm glad when threads get discussions. gives the site personality, and a reason to keep reading the thread.

i'm quite liking Guardians, but it's my first MOBA

I was surprised by how much I liked it, I almost didn't even bother downloading it. I wasn't brand new to the genre, I played Awesomenauts quite a bit and played about an hour or so of League of Legends so I already knew the basics on how to play that type of game. I don't think there is a ton of strategy or a gigantic learning curve though.

Some basic tips are:
Never approach a tower without soldiers in front of you.
Dying is the worst thing you can do, so even if you're gonna take out an enemy, it's not worth it if you're gonna get killed too.
Take out enemy soldiers whenever possible.
Capture shrines whenever possible.
Always upgrade towers and the soldiers when you can.
Learn what skills work with each other.
Don't lone wolf it, try to at least be with one other guardian.

Also, Lugbol is the shit.
I want a bigger hd and saw this on sale. Is it good deal?

Seagate Momentus 5400 500GB 5400RPM - $57
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B001R4BBL0
Can the PS3 handle bigger than 500? Cause if so this is a better deal: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822152290

FYI: I just bought this HDD even thought I have a 250 sitting right next to my PS3 waiting to be installed. I figured if I'm going to go through that work I might as well just do it once.

I'm all for off-topic discussion, just take a look at the most frequent posters list for this thread and you'll see that. I just don't personally care for the FF talk because I don't play FF. And for some reason the FF talk seems to overwhelm this thread in ways only US/EU PS+ discussion can. But at least the FF talk is much more civil. I guess I'm being hypocritical, but oh well.

Thanks to you and everyone else for the input. Like a lot of people on here, space is my biggest issue when it comes to downloading PS+ games. I didn't get around to downloading GoME because I was afraid it would be way too much for me, and I'm not one to sink hours upon hours into multiplayer games. But you all make it sound like the barriers to entry are pretty low, in regards to learning how to play.

From everything I know the PS3 can now handle up to 1TB or more. I personally put a 500 WD Scorpio Blue in about 2 weeks ago. Everything installed perfectly and I was back playing within a short amount of time.

My suggestion is to remove all of your Game Data before you use the system backup utility. I did not do this and therefore it took about 3.5 hours to back up over 100gb of data. Once installed the new HD I went to the Online storage due to PS Plus and redownloaded from there. Basically I waited 3.5 hours to copy information that I didn't end up using.

If you wish to make this process faster than delete the Game Data but keep all of your saved games. then run the backup utility. This should bring you down to a more manageable 30 min backup.

I'm already having to delete game data because my HDD is full... so this isn't going to be an issue for me. I'm still using my ancient stock 40gb HDD. See, I thought they had a problem with HDD bigger than 500 being able to use the extra space but they fixed it or something. I'm glad to hear I can use this HDD I picked up.

I have a 640gb I.got from.newegg last year for 59.99 western digital.blue Scorpio works on my ps3 slim so more than 500 Gb does work
See this post I made a couple of pages back.
Thanks. :)

Oh one more Question. I've always wanted to play Dissidia but bever had a PSP. Is it worth getting this game @ the $9.99 price point?

Huge FF7 fan here and will be getting that today, as I've not played it in forever as is one of my favorite games.
You guys are tempting me to finally break down and upgrade my 120GB...
It is less than 1 year since I upgrade my 80GB to 500GB & rightnow It is almost full so I need to upgrade again

First of all, tell that beaver to give you back your damn PSP, then get Dissidia 02 as it's the better game and includes the original

I thought about that too but there's going to be all summer of PS+ downloading. If any of the used game restrictions are true I won't be an early or late adopter so this may end up being my last console. Either way I know I'll get my $55 in use just from PS+ games.

I am most likely going to be an early adopter if the rumors are true, but it's kind of annoying me because I have to erase some games to play others in my backlog (250 GB HDD). It's totally my fault that I buy so many digital games and PS+ games...

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this since I was banned, but if you're having space issues, go in and delete game data for games you no longer play. I had about 50 GB left on my 500 GB hard drive and I went in and deleted a bunch of my game data, ended up freeing about 100 GB worth of space.

HAHAHA, I meant to say "never" had a PSP! ^_^

So get DISSIDIA 012[duodecim] FINAL FANTASY (PSP)? Why is it the same price as DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY (PSP) if 012 has more content? O_O
I'd just like to point out that JCrichton keeps typing FFXIII (13) instead of FFVIII (8), some people are responding to him about his points as they relate to VIII because they are following the context of the conversation, while others (like affa) are chiming in and posting about XIII - to which JCrichton is still responding (at length!) as though they are writing about VIII.

Anyway, carry on.
Oops.

Oh well. I'm not the first person nor the last to make that typo nor was I in this very thread. ;)
Thank you, I just bought that one and it comes with a free enclosure.
Cool , so you can use the old one as external HD
Yeah you should be able to.
It should if I format it correctly. It was a pretty decent deal with the free enclosure. It saves me gas and time not driving to Fry's to get one. ...... Probably saved me some money too since if I step inside that store, I will buy so much crap that aren't necessary. Damn you impulse buy.

Closure (PS3)

Closure is a unique and stylistic puzzle platformer that takes the concept of light and shadow and twists it up into something never before seen. In Closure’s dark and foreboding universe, the only things that exist are what you can see. An object properly lit up is physically there, yet an object shrouded in darkness ceases to be. Experience this mind-bending puzzler free as a Plus member.

Critter Crunch

80% off for PS Plus members (Original price: $6.99; PS Plus Price: $1.40)

Developed by the geniuses at Capybara games, this award-winning, critically-acclaimed puzzle game asks players to take control of the cuddly Biggs, a loveable jungle creature with an iron-clad stomach. Biggs is in search of the jewel-rich critters that invade his habitat once a season, and using his tongue to pluck them from their vines, stuffs them into the waiting mouths of larger critters. This sets off chain reactions of bursting critters that drop the tasty jewels for Biggs to regurgitate for his hungry family. Sporting an 87 / 100 on Metacritic, with 1up.com giving it an A and praising it for its “”Beautiful visuals and inventive puzzles…worth sinking your teeth into.”, you owe it to yourself to hop on this gem for only $1.40. Plus, it has a ‘Barfing Tutorial’. I mean… c’mon, how can you pass that up?
