Class of Heroes is more like the Wizardry games than Etrian Odyssey, as the exploration aspects of EO weren't in what I played of COH. It just wasn't a very interesting game to me like EOIII was, though I've heard good things about COH2 as far as the improvements that were made over the original.
Tanuki's got it, Class of Heroes is pretty much an old Wizardry game in all but name (and art style, lol). My wife loved those games, loved CoH and loves the Wizardry Labyrinth of Lost Souls, too. They are all really similar. I really didn't like CoH myself, I think EO was better.
If you want to try CoH, you could probably download the demo to Labyrinth of Lost Souls to get a general sense of how CoH plays.

The art in CoH and EO are a real turn off for me. I've been waiting to try a dungeon crawler and ended up buying Elminage Original and will be playing that over break. Came out for $15 a couple weeks ago and doesn't have little kids (I hope).
I want to get the bestshapers indie bundle but it won't let because I own canabalt.
Same issue many of us have with owning sonic 2 and being unable to download sonic bundle. Sony needs to fix this garbage.

If I play a PS+ game on my hard drive and then later want to play it using a disc instead will there be any issues with my save files working?

Bought GTA:San Andreas. I've been itching to play it forever. Can't wait to go to the top of the mountains and do some base jumping.

Had some leftover money in my wallet, so I picked up a few more tables for Zen Pinball. Captain America, Civil War, and Fantastic Four.
If I play a PS+ game on my hard drive and then later want to play it using a disc instead will there be any issues with my save files working?
Some games yes. (Just Cause 2, LBP, Infamous)
Some games no. (Ratchet and Clank All4one, Burnout Paradise)
If I play a PS+ game on my hard drive and then later want to play it using a disc instead will there be any issues with my save files working?
it depends on the game

yeah it depends on the game.

i personally got screwed on tomb raider underworld. i had the disc-version but traded it in when i got the tomb raider trilogy from best buy for $5 or $10 last year. however, the game save isn't compatible with the tomb raider compilation. next, tomb raider underworld was free for ps+. however, my game saves still weren't compatible with the psn version. so i've owned the game in three different forms, and have not gone back to finish it because they are all incompatible.

why are people buying San Andreas on PSN, it's a "PS2 classic" so it looks like a PS2 game, and it's $15. the game has been $3 on steam sales, and on PC it's in HD.
Black Knight Sword seems pretty cool, although I haven't watched any videos of it or anything.
It's pretty cool but short (3-ish hours). I already finished the main story tonight (the other modes appear to just be harder versions of that, and there are also some hidden collectables for replay value). Definitely has that quirky Suda 51 vibe...with a great art style...and sound design from Akira Yamaoka.

I love Wizardry and Call of Heroes. While I prefer the more fantasy setting used in Wizardry, Call of Heroes was a much better deal in that it actually gave you the entire game at purchase instead of the crap Wizardry pulled in telling you the game included two dungeons when, in fact, you had to pay extra to unlock most of one of them.
Any of you guys recommend the class of heroes?
Download the Wizardy demo on the PS3 and try it. If you like it, you will like Class of Heroes. They are nearly identical in nearly every way.
That's for Europe. They announced they aren't having a 12 days of Christmas sale on the US store, but "stay tuned for great deals."
Yeah I know it's for Europe. I was just wondering if this was for sure as I couldn't see the change on the online store or from the official website.

Hmm, Big Sky Infinity with stacking trophy lists and cross buy... Kind of tempting. I don't mind that it's not free, but a PS+ discount would have been nice. I'll decide later I guess.

Suda games are never worth full price to me, but they ARE interesting. I'll wait for a sale on Black Knight Sword.

Also, I need a better way to manage my Vita screens. All these game icons are beginning to cramp my style, and I can't even remove them unless I back up the entire game to my PC. Ugh.

It's true, the PC ports support controllers, I used to play Vice City on my PC with a Dual Shock 2. It played just like it would/should on the PS2 only with an amazing draw distance and much higher resolution. Once you get the button assignments matched up, it's near-identical.

These games are old enough that you don't need a high-end PC to run them well, either, so it's not a matter of having a 'gaming PC'. That said, having them on your platform of choice goes a long way if you have a big screen setup with a PS3 and you want it in your living room.
I may be the only one but I never got into San Andreas. I didn't get far in it but the new eating, dressing and working out mechanics were a pain and I just couldn't stay interested to give it a real chance.
You're not the only one. For me, there was too much in San Andreas. GTA peaked for me with Vice City.

Vice City was just SOOOO well done. There was a little of everything. I think they should be working on bringing that back instead of moving farther away. San Andreas would have been even better if they'd left off the exercise, eating, and the massive empty countryside (where the only vehicles you can jack are four-wheelers and tractors).

Most people I know don't even have a traditional windows pc anymore. Everyone I know just uses macbook pros or linux mint on their workstations/laptops. Guess it depends on the field you are in, though. But most people game exclusively via game console and phone.

Same stuff from them this week.
Starting November 20th through December 18th.

The territory stuff where you had to go capture all of these territories and defend them from rival gang members was such a huge hassle that I stopped playing it due to that and how empty the world seemed to be in some parts.
Weren't you supposed to redeem the $20 by now?
Expired on December 9 from what my PM says. They also sent an email with the code for those that might've missed it.

Oh shoot, yeah the $20 credit in November from spending $100 in October is supposed to expire in December. The credit's still active in my PSN wallet so I'll have to use it ASAP then before it magically disappears, thanks rpg.

EDIT: Yeah FriskyTanuki it says Dec. 9th in my email but my credit's still there as I mentioned, may not be the case for others that haven't redeemed it. Time to spend spend spend!

The God of War: Ascension Multiplayer Beta Is Coming January 8th!

It’s almost here! PlayStation Plus members’ chance to ascend online to start destroying each other in God of War: Ascension’s Multiplayer Beta. Today we’re proud to announce that the Beta is officially coming to PlayStation Plus on January 8th. To get you pumped up, you must watch our brand new “Evil Ways” Multiplayer Trailer. It is beautiful brutality.

If you were one of the wise mortals participating in our Rise of the Warrior experience, and belonged to the winning Spartan team for our first team challenge, your early Beta access begins today! If you are a Trojan, though you were defeated in the first team challenge, the Gods have shown mercy and are granting you early access starting December 16th. All your codes can still be redeemed at www.godofwar.com.

As announced, everyone with PlayStation Plus memberships will be able to download the Multiplayer Beta beginning January 8th. If you have not entered our The Rise of the Warrior experience, you are missing a truly epic encounter. There are more team challenge rewards coming, exclusive DLC items to earn right now, and an epic story connected to the single-player and multiplayer of God of War: Ascension. Join now!

So the burning-in-Hades question is, what will you play in our Multiplayer Beta? A visceral, larger than life, online combat experience for starters. We are kicking off the Beta with our signature Team Favor of the Gods mode and the yet-to-be-seen Favor of the Gods mode, which plays like Team Favor of the Gods, but without the teams. In both modes, you’ll fight to reach the requisite number of favor points from the Gods, earning points via kills, bonus brutal kills, opening chests, capturing domination points, and, if you’re skillful enough, performing executions using the Spear of Olympus. Check out our Beta page for tips, scoring details and more.

The Maps

You’ve seen the Desert of Lost Souls, featuring our massive Titan, Polyphemus. If you were not fortunate enough to experience this map at one of our various events earlier this year, you will get your chance to go head-to-head in this epic map in the Beta.

Only a fool would believe we are stopping there — this is God of War! God of War: Ascension multiplayer levels are broken out into two categories: larger maps, which feature big open environments (like the Desert of Lost Souls), and more compact arenas, which bring the action in tight to test your reflexes as you fight for survival in close-quarters combat. Fans of God of War III will remember the Hercules Arena, one of the Top 5 most epic moments in the God of War franchise, and we’re really excited to introduce our “Forum of Hercules” Multiplayer Arena level!

The Beta will also provide you with the chance to play through our tutorial level, which is an epic experience in and of itself. You’ll be able to test your might with both Zeus and Ares allegiances, and experience a taste of the player customization options and upgrades that will be in the final game.

Keep in mind, this is the Beta stage of our development, and our team here at Santa Monica Studio will be working daily, up until the very last second, to provide you with a truly incredible experience. We value your feedback, and this is where you can help to make this game ascend to even greater heights for our March 12th launch! See you in the Beta!

The gang war stuff wasn't ever a problem for me because I could ignore it if I wanted. It'd take forever until you actually lost any territories. It also gave me a reason to load up my gang and go do something a little different. I loved most of the missions and the feeling of advancing a story instead of feeling like you're just doing things because people tell you to and you know it'll unlock the rest of the game. I even loved some of the RC missions.

People like me will never play games on PC. I do not like it, I do not care about graphics and nor do I care if the games are cheaper. A better question is why PC gamers are so adamant about changing our minds over what we simply prefer.

If u make a Japan account u get a free trial of psn+ tho the games in the collection is a complete joke. God of war 1 and 2 are the only good games on the list.

ps. They still have the old and awesome store =)

Elitists. Learn to ignore them and you will be far better off. That's what I do. :)

For real, I've tried many times to play games on the PC and I just can't get into it. I bought a shit ton of games in the last major Steam sale too. Ah well, maybe some day.
For one thing, PC games get discounts sooner than console titles.
You just ignored the part of my post where I said I didn't care about that. Not to mention I can trade in console titles to offset a lot of that.

But still, why would something like that make me suddenly want to play games on PC? Especially when my consoles are all set up and ready to go and my PC is purely basic for internet browsing?
Elitists. Learn to ignore them and you will be far better off. That's what I do. :)
Irony.

I'm with you. I keep buying PC games thinking "Yeah I can get into PC gaming!" And then a few days later it's back to the consoles. The only PC game I can actually really play and enjoy is Civ 5.

Also, is anyone else dreading this God of War multiplayer? All I can think of is Bioshock 2, where you have something that most everyone enjoys, and you tarnish the experience by putting in something that no one has ever asked for. I've never heard a single person say "You know...God of War would be better with multiplayer." Bioshock 2 was a great game...and I'm sure Ascension will be great too. But we'll just know it as that time they failed at multiplayer.

Bioshock 2 has an 88 score on Metacritic. I fail to understand how the existence of multiplayer in that game, no matter how well or poorly done one perceives it to be, "tarnished" the single player experience. It didn't. Nor will it when God of War comes out.
Some games yes. (Just Cause 2, LBP, Infamous)
Some games no. (Ratchet and Clank All4one, Burnout Paradise)
Which do have issues and don't? When you say yes and no I'm confused. I googled Infamous, R&C A41 & Burnout and I saw hits for all those having save issues between digital & disc.

I was going to play Bioshock 2 using PS+ copy so my disc drive is not used and maybe load times faster, but now I think I'll just stick with my disc copy.

PC gamers simply want the support that consoles get. They're getting shafted more and more by getting console ports they don't take advantage of their specs, or miss out on games not ported to PC. That's why.

I've always wanted GoW multiplayer simply because I played the first 2 GoW and really couldn't see myself ever playing it again unless they added MP because it's just more of the same. I do not believe they will fail at implementing it. Maybe after they implement it we will wonder how we ever played it without others, at least I hope its that good.
How?
What do you mean? It's totally ironic. You know...just in that Alanis Morissette "I don't really get irony" sense of the word.

Maybe if they used that dev time & resources on fleshing out single player it could have been a better game, with Metacritic score of 93-95 instead.

I love how CheapyD has changed his view of computer games since he got a bigrig computer ;)
now anytime anyone mentions a game he says how it is only worth playing on the pc cuz 360/ps3 are inferior ;)
i know i would probly be the same if i got a sweet system also tho.

Well, those games are the ones I have personal experience with, and some work, and others don't. it depends on how the game devs decided to do it

I should have been clearer I suppose.

Ratchet & Clank All 4 One and Burnout Paradise aren't able to use disc saves because their digital versions are basically a unique version that saves to a new folder instead of being the same as what was released on disc.

Infamous does work with disc saves, as I wouldn't have finished the game if that weren't the case. Infamous 2, Just Cause 2, LBP, LBP2, Warhawk, and AC Brotherhood are others that I've gotten that worked with my disc saves.

The "easy" way to check if you don't see any information about it in a Google search is to grab the Full Game Trial, which will tell you instantly if your disc save works when you start it up.
