Absolutely- probably one of the best 2D platformers since the SNES days
Agreed. Its gorgeous on the Vita and worth $15 IMO to have installed. I already Platinum'd it (which is a testament to how good it was bc I rarely do that) or else Id seriously consider a rebuy. PS3 is cheaper but this game feels as though it were madr for a portable. Can't really go wrong either way!

Knytt Underground looks cool, and as a cross buy title, it will entice me even more. I will be waiting for the sale to be over (like with Oddworld) as those prices will still be there in January.
Is Two Worlds GOTY edition worth it? Does it include everything? It shows a ton of expansions and it doesn't exactly say if it covers them all. I don't want to buy it, then need to buy all the other crap. You'd think GOTY encompasses everything though. Anyone know?
Yeah, I want to know too. Defense shows as a $2.99 add-on, and isn't mentioned in the regular game description.
How is Odin Sphere? Does it hold its age pretty well? Worth 5 at least?
I picked it up last time it was on sale, and I think it does hold up pretty well, what little I've played of it so far. I think it is worth $5.

BTW, I also recommend Riviera on the PSP. Pretty good RPG for $5.

Wow these are tough choices... I might wait till sunday or monday to see if the deals are even better or if I am gonna miss something....
Dear Powers That Be,

Can we PLEASE get a sale on Valkyria Chronicles 2??? $39.99 is way too much for a digital download of a freaking PSP game!
Valkyria Chronicles 2 has been on sale in the past. I got it along with all its DLC for $13.79 last year.
Meh, thought it got repetitive quick to where I started to speed through levels to finish it. I was actually disappointed at the length.
Eh, I didn't find it any more repetitive than any other platformer, and earning new abilities in each world freshened the gameplay considerably. IMO it made the recent Mario titles feel incredibly stale by comparison (which I have nonetheless enjoyed). I liked Origins so much I'll probably replay it on PS3.

A Holiday Gift From the Sound Shapes Team

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1u0kaQ_O9JY

Yup, a Holiday Sound Pack. Do you like it? Five new Christmas-themed instruments from classic carols to create your own holiday tunes – because there’s no such thing as too much Christmas music!

How do you get them? Just turn on Sound Shapes on your PS3 or PS Vitahttp://blog.us.playstation.com/category/ps-vita/, connect to the internet, and they’ll automatically appear.

Oh really, we’re so glad you like them and we hope you enjoy them over the holidays. Anyway, we need to get going (the reindeer are getting restless) but from everyone here at Queasy Games and the whole Sound Shapes team, we wish you and your loved ones all the best and a happy holiday!

PS… if you create some levels, put #XMAS in the title and we’ll play them while chilling over the break. Talk soon!
So wait, the doctor who game is going to be $10 forever now right? So if I want a deal I need to wait for a sale on it below that price?
Yes, since $10 is the new msrp, it is no longer a deal. :D
Kristine confirms we'll hear more about the weekend "Flash Sale" soon.
Hmm, maybe that flash sale will be those games that were listed for some time ago on the blog, but then were removed.

& Riveria sounds like my kind of game/RPG, though I think I'm gonna pass due to my backlog, especially with other RPGs I need to work on, let alone start. Maybe the next time it's discounted. I remember hearing about it back when it was on the GBA & I should play it on PSP one of these days with the added content.

I see on Sony's website that they have buy a $100 e gift card get $20 e gift card - would these be usable on the playstation store? It says its good at Sony stores and sony online, but it doesn't specifically mention playstation - figured someone here would know for sure

magic 2013 was part of that list that was then later removed, like I said before the price has gone way cheaper than the announced price of 7.50$

so 1 game can be crossed out from that flash sale should it happen to include all those games or they might come into the next week or the week after, still 2 weeks.

The worst scenario is that list never going to happen I mean the other games that didn't get released from that list since magic 2013 already got into the sales.

I'd like to know this as well.

Defense does come with the $5 GOTY bundle. I downloaded it last night. The GOTY includes the pirates DLC to the original game as well. I bought the game knowing its a 50/50 shot I will ever even play it. I just cant pass up the amount of content for $5. Even if its a mediocre game.

Also, I keep forgetting to ask, but how the fuck do you pronounce Knytt? And does the word mean anything or did these guys make it up? Thanks

That's awesome. The moment this goes on sale (which I'm hoping is next week), I'm buying it. Didn't think to pick it up when it was first discounted for +.

*Can anyone confirm whether the LPB2 cross controller pack works retroactively with old levels? I can't seem to find a straight answer to that anywhere. Guessing because that's a stupid question.*

I'm thinking about:
Hexyz Force
Riviera: The Promised Land
thoughts or comments?

Also, does all brand new copies of knights in the nightmare include YGGDRA UNION?
Thanks.

With a hard K and a soft I, so Kuh-Nit. But I'm not pronouncing it like that, I just say "night".

Am I missing something or has Cladun x2 mysteriously vanished from the store? I'm really pissed because I've been waiting the entire nisa sale for that sucker to drop, and now its gone??

Do we know anything about the future deals? I would LOVE to see rainbow moon on there. I passed on it before but I'm getting that Tactical RPG itch again....

LOL awesome. I was just saying it like "nit" in my head. So from now on I will think of it as nit I am sure. Even after your explanation. Thanks for the info though.

Damn, picked up TW2 GOTY back when it was 10 bucks. Seemed like a great deal then, no brainer now. Gonna mull over getting some things (the XBLA sale has finally picked up after what seems like months)

PS Plus content for EUROPE...

Leaving PS Plus:
 • 2nd January – Batman: Arkham City
 • 2nd January – Bulletstorm
 • 2nd January – Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition
 • 16th January – Mortal Kombat (PS Vita)
 • 23rd January – Knytt Underground
Joining PS Plus:
 • 2nd January – Bioshock 2
 • 2nd January – Guardians of Middle-earth
 • 2nd January – Mortal Kombat – excluding Australia and Germany
 • 2nd January – Gotham City Imposters – Australia and Germany only
 • 16th January – Jet Set Radio (PS Vita)
 • 23rd January – Pinball Arcade (PS Vita)
I love my PS Plus but I think that the differences between both stores is getting ridiculous.
They are offering 25% off PS Plus 1-year memberships.
Then, I don't care about any of those two fighting games listed but for casual gaming with friends, I would have preferred MK over SF any day.
Also, Europe will get Guardians of Middle Earth (a-just-new-arrival-game!).

After seeing this I have high hopes for PS Plus US update for Jan.
Hope 2013 will be our year hahaha... please PS Plus don't disappoint me!

Is anyone really surprised? I'm not... I fully expect them to get all future new releases for free.

It almost seems like they know a lot of NA + subs are poised to switch regions so they're taking Batman AC out of the IGC early (I'm not floating grand conspiracy theories, just another baseless observation). I know I was planning to jump to EU when my sub expires in March, now I'll have to think about maybe signing up for EU by end of this year, but I don't like being rushed, I wanted to give NA+ a chance for the first part of 2013, but now. Oh, decisions....
Oh, they finally stopped selling the bundle with all the DLC for $22?

I've been waiting a while for a Gungnir price drop to get closer to retail pricing, so I'll probably have to jump on that to add to my Dept Heaven PSN collection.

Only one I don't have is KitN since that seems like it would be a downgrade from the DS, unless it has extra content.
Here's what's new with Knights in the Nightmare for PSP:
In addition to adding more replay value by adding a third campaign starring Yggdra Union's titular Princess Yggdra as a third main character, this new release of Knights in the Nightmare is enhanced to take full advantage of the power of PSP system, featuring remastered visuals and sounds, optimized controls, and a new opening movie from visionary director Yukio Takatsu (Persona 3, Persona 4, Yggdra Union).

We know that they'll happen and that Papo & Yo will be one of the games coming next week. That's about it.

I'm looking at it right now on the PS3's PS Store, so I don't know what you're missing. Are you looking at the Vita PS Store or PS3? I don't see it on the Vita's PS Store, so that's weird. If you have a PS3, try using that.
Wow would have loved to get guardians of middle earth can't believe Europe is getting it free after just a few weeks
I hope US gets it too. There are barely any people on when I play the game.

Yeah thanks I found it on the PS3. Seems stupid that I have to buy it there, download, and then transfer it. Bleh.

Check the Download List on your Vita first to see if you directly download it there without needing to transfer it.

I don't think so since the tools for Cross Controller support did not come out until yesterday, so creators will have to go back to their levels to rework them for it if they want to support it.

Capcom vs. SNK 2 (PS2 Classic) News Coming "Next Year"

Capcom Fighting Evolution and Capcom vs. SNK 2 are available for download on the PlayStation Network in Japan as PS2 Classics, but are nowhere to be seen in the west. In light of this, a user on Capcom’s forums recently asked if there are plans for the games to be released on the North American PlayStation Store.

The good news is, the two games are coming. Capcom’s Senior Vice-President, Christian Svensson, replied: “Eventually. The timing will be quite different though from Japan. More news will come ‘next year’.”

The new PS Blogcast is out now, so here are next week's releases:

We've already gotten 3 of those game, and kinda sucks for EU to get both MK Vita and MK PS3. Pinball Arcade was just $5 a couple weeks ago. The only enviable game on that list is the LotR MOBA, but more than likely we'll get that (eventually) here too because we get lots of multiplayer focused games.

Also, maybe encouraging that since they're getting a lot of our Nov/Dec content, maybe we'll be getting some of their Nov/Dec content.
The new PS Blogcast is out now, so here are next week's releases:

Retro City Rampage - PS3/Vita

Yep, that's it for what they'd tell us about next week. Don't expect much and enjoy the holidays.
RCR was disappointing IMO, but I did laugh a good amount. I'm still really looking forward to the sales for the next two weeks. Understandable that the new content will be "light".
Can you just "switch" regions of PS+ without having to switch your whole account over to a European account? Does anyone know?
Check the Download List on your Vita first to see if you directly download it there without needing to transfer it.
Thank you! Saved me a headache!

I don't think there's any way to switch regions for your PSN account or anything like that.

Ok. Thank you both.
I already have RCR for PC but playing it on Vita could *really* be worth it at a serious discount!
I'd think it will be part of the PSN Essentials sale, so 30% off/50% off for Plus.

As a Plus subscriber, that might just clinch it for me.
