Whoops, was supposed to get some stuff from the 12/18 sale, didn't realize they'd update a day early for the holidays
It's still on sale, I just bought it along with Crazy Taxi.

Do you guys think it's better to buy Hot Shots now for the vita? Or wait for the retail copy to drop to $10 at some point? I personally do not want to spend more money on a memory card for the vita, and I'd rather just stick to my 4gb of memory that came with my Declassified bundle. Thanks for any tips guys

The retail copy was already $10 at Best Buy. If you plan on buying stuff from PSN in the future, or have PS Plus, I'd suck it up and look for a sale on a large memory card. For me it comes down to the convenience of having everything I want to play at all times, which is why I try to keep everything digital, but everyone's situation is different.
Persona 3 Portable was on sale a few weeks ago, so you missed your chance to get it on sale.
Yeah, I think I received my Vita literally the day the P3P sale ended, after Black Friday. Will probably have to suck it up and bite the bullet on that one, was just hoping for it possibly going back on sale during the holidays.

everything from the first psn essentials sale is gone.

yeah also on the fence for unit 13 and mgs hd. mgs3 is $7, but mgs2 and 3 is $17? thats crazy. it doesnt even include peace walker for vita, right? i might just settle on mgs3 only since i played a bunch of mgs2 back on ps2 and that shia got crazy at the end. $13 seems a lil high for unit 13, idk. thanks tho!

Good point. MGS 2 is actually the only Metal Gear Solid that I've ever beat. (sad, i know).

With that said, might just grab MGS 3 or the PS3 version.

the sad part is i already have mgs hd collection on ps3, but i think im gonna get unit 13 and mgs3 anyway. $20 for some great games i can't complain. plus i saved $10 with rcr being free (i was gonna purchase last night when someone said $10 sale) so ill pretend it's already spent anyway. thanks guys

If you need someone to co-op Unit 13, add me on PSN: Jesszman

Just list your CAG ID in the message.
It ended a few hours ago when the store updated.
fuck me, I just put in my PS+ one month code and CC info and it was $36. I'm pissed.

Thanks for the input. I'm guess that $10 fire sale was a while ago then? That would explain why it's not listed on the site. And yes, I'm thinking of sucking it up rather than just try to hold up on it. What's a good size to buy? Would a 8GB suffice? Or would 16GB be a better buy? I'm only planning to buy PSN games once in a while, but not that often. If more Cross Play games come out, I think I'd get a 32GB for sure. But as of right now, there's not much incentive to upgrade to such a large space.

I'd go for 16 if you can afford it. Even that fills up more quickly than you'd expect, but it's enough to be able to fit a nice variety of games on at once. To put things in perspective, an 8 GB would get filled up by MGS HD collection, Uncharted, and any one or two PSP or PS1 games. In contrast to that, my 16 GB is currently holding Gravity Rush, Uncharted, Wipeout 2048, PS All-Stars Battle Royale, Rayman Origins, Escape Plan, Zen Pinball 2 with a dozen tables unlocked, and Disgaea and Corpse Party for PSP.

Except that the 32gb seems like a ripoff? It's obviously the most convenient option, but I don't that I could bring myself to do it, just on principle.
If you're going to buy a memory card, it should be the 32 GB.
+1

i hate to say it, but it's worth just biting the bullet and getting the 32. preferably for around 80.

swapping mem cards on a vita ain't fun, and you're only going to get more games as time passes, especially with +.
Except that the 32gb seems like a ripoff? It's obviously the most convenient option, but I don't that I could bring myself to do it, just on principle.
I have a 16GB and it's been sufficient. I'm sure I'll run out of space eventually, especially with PS+ games coming out for free, but it's as easy as re-downloading things.

I just wouldn't go smaller than 16GB, I can't imagine only having 8GB. 4 is a complete joke.

I'd love to see a 120 GB or higher card at the $100 slot in the future so the only hindrance to my ability to have everything on my Vita at once would be the OS app limitation, which I hit early on with the 32 GB card.

What? Please explain, I thought if I had space on the memory card I could download stuff. For people wondering the 32gb is a better deal since ur actually paying a cheaper price per gb.

I'm hoping that limitation is something they can address in a firmware update... it's be extremely short-sighted if it wasn't. I'd love to see folders and a much higher OS page limit, as well as a 64-128GB card as the high end offering down the road.
Being a Plus member and continuing to buy PSN games for full price is like being a Netflix member who buys Blu Rays on day 1. You're working against yourself.
I am having trouble being a Plus member and convincing myself to buy things at 50% off. I haven't gotten a "new to me" PS+ game since the Vita Collection came out. That's why I ended up passing on I Am Alive last week, why I probably should have passed on Escape Plan, and is the only thing holding me back from grabbing Unit 13, thought I may still cave.

On the other hand, I really shouldn't have a problem kicking Sony some of my cash every week. Recent sales/PS+/PS+ for Vita have been just killer, and they deserve my support.
Just tagging this thread as I'm finding myself playing PS3 more and more...
Welcome. I recognize you from being a really cool guy in the XBLA thread. Hope to see you here once in a while, in my humble opinion, Sony has been taking MS to school on the digital front as of recently. So you'll run into lots of great deals here.
Thanks for the input guys. Guess I'll be scouting around for a $50 or sub $50 32GB card.
Best-o-luck with that. I hated doing it but bit the bullet and used some amazon credit on the $80 32gb card. I just knew the 16gb wouldn't be enough being a PS+ subscriber.

Come to think of it, I still need to sell the 16gb card I never opened...

Will Gungnir be on sale past tomorrow? Still waiting on my Best Buy PSN card.

The OS App limit? You can only have ten pages of apps with ten apps per page, so it can hold 100 apps at most. If you download your 101st app, this is what you'll see:

I added retro city rampage vita to the cart but cant add the psn version. It says " cannot be purchased at this time". Is it an error or are they telling me to pick the vita or psn version as free?

I'm still getting the $17 dollar price for Unit 13 on my Vita. Did they drop it down and then raise it back up?

Edit: I decided to hit purchase and it updated to the cheaper price.

Once u add either versions of retro city, when u checkout u automatically download both versions separately on the download screen

Oddworld Munch's Odysee HD is up now on the PSN store at 9.99.

Not really a deal, but it's not even featured or advertised anywhere. It's also cheaper than Stranger's Wrath for some reason.

Just wanted to give you guys a heads up if you're into Oddworld stuff.

really? I thought there was nothing new tonight.

Not that I don't believe you. It's just amazing how terrible the U.S. PSN people are at their jobs. They have a handful of things to list on the site once a week, just so people can be aware of what's coming out/what's on sale, and they still routinely fuck it up.

Or to give them the benefit of the doubt, someone gives them incomplete information.

Yeah, I wouldn't have known about it without the blog post on Oddworld's website. It was just released today. Usually stuff comes out on Tuesday, but for some reason, this was an exception.

Yeah this didn't even make it to the Playstation Update post, which was weird. I remember that Just Add Water released Stranger's Wrath last year right around the same time, and I felt like it just got buried and very little recognition from Sony. But it must have sold well enough for them to try the same timeframe again.
Hey there's nothing big planned for Xmas itself right?

And when was that Jetpack game supposed to be free for USA again? 12/31?
No, they updated on Monday because of the holiday today. The same will happen next week, so expect Jetpack Joyride on 12/30 from what people here have posted.

So the journey deal will expire on Tuesday the 1st or Tuesday the 8th? I'd like to buy it but I won't be back to a ps3 unit the 2nd. Yet another reason pan sucks but ps3 rocks

Edit: looks that way. Why can't they pay the 300 bucks to get a web developer to build a website? They'd make more than that in sales in a week

To those on the Hot Shots Golf fence, I bought it on a lark with fond memories of a series I played on PS1 (but not since). I just figured I'd play a quick round before bed and accidentally dropped 2.5 hours into it. I'd highly recommend it at the sub-$9 price point and, iirc, there is a policy that things that go on sale for Plus are not going to be released as Instant Games in the relatively future. The game itself is actually kind of relaxing to play which is nice after years of increasingly muddled Tiger Woods games...

If it's like what happened this week with Littlebigplanet Vita and Escape Plan, I'd plan on the deals getting pulled late morning on December 31, then going back to the normal schedule the following week (back to Tues schedule so 1/8).
