Picked up a year of PS+ and Journey to get my $50 in. How did I not pick up PS+ sooner? This is an obscene amount of content!
Does paying the top up amount count towards $50? I currently have just over $1 in my SEN account. It tells me to pay the top up amount on PS+, which is a little over $48.

The sale of Resident Evil games on XBL has my hopes up for a sale on PSN soon.

Maybe there will finally be a deal on Code Veronica!
Game 1 is Inversion, I fear.
That's the one game it's been confirmed that it won't be.
It does specifically mention the Vita, but you're right, it could be a PSP game. I think it's unlikely to have 2 PSP games at one time (especially since no other region seems to be going this way), plus it will look REALLY weak against EU. Not saying US cares about the haters, but that wouldn't help cool the flames.
I agree, it sounds like we're only getting one game playable on the Vita this month, I can't imagine they'd choose a PSP game.

Is there any difference between RE CVX & RE 4 on 360 vs PS3?

It seems unlikely that it'd be PSASBR since that'd kind of be a slap in the face to the people who just bought the Vita version this week.

I'd be happy with either PSASBR or MK (either Komplete or not), through frankly I'd be happier if they went on sale instead, cause I'd rather not have to keep up PS+ to play them. To be fair, I'll probably not stop having PS+ though.

OK, super stardust delta did the impossible -- it greatly improved upon the original Super Stardust, which i consider a dual stick shooter masterpiece. it's... just amazing.

for those curious, imo the biggest improvement is that there are now only 2 (rather than 3) types of guns (goldmelter whip/ice crusher). this small simplification actually improves the game flow -- asteroids are now far more resistant to the wrong weapon which actually makes switching more important. plus, you're never flipping to the wrong weapon.

anyway. just died on the final boss (scored just over 50 million in normal arcade).

pick this gem up. worth every cent of the $5 sale.

I got SSD for free with my used Vita cause of the 3g promotion at launch (the original owner gave me his code). It is really one of the best games I have played on the Vita for casual gaming. I had no idea what it was when I got it, and thought it'd be really dumb. Silly me.

I don't see anything worth buying as usual. It's been a year or so since I made a purchase on PSN. All the prices are terrible for non plus members and I got the walking dead at $10 a few months ago on the Xbox! That's the only good game I see.
-Game 1: "A big, critically acclaimed shooter. Turned the world on its head in terms of what to expect from a shooter." Maybe Spec Ops: The Line?

hmm. was spec ops 'big'? it was critically acclaimed and fits the description, though. bioshock does, but since 2 was already given i doubt they'd do 1. same with borderlands. so...yea, Spec Ops is my guess too.

Game 2: "A very highly acclaimed strategy RPG series coming to the Vita lineup later in the month." Probably Disgaea 3.

As others said... it has to be D3. Unless they're releasing something new as a surprise, and letting us have it day 1. Which seems doubtful.
the "highly acclaimed srpg series" really limits it as well -- there aren't too many series that fit that description, and even fewer if we limit it to vita/psp.
Eh, I love the Disgaea series and SRPGs in general, so it's a win either way. Heck, just that they'd think to include a srpg in the IGC makes me happy.

Game 3: "Another great fighter for the IGC."

got All Stars as part of my bundle. But i don't care about fighting games.

Game 4: "An awesome PSN game that has a highly acclaimed writer, very famous videogame luminary, that's responsible for putting that game together. Fairly recently released." The Cave?

Can't think of anything else that fits. Happy about this too.
Game 1: sounds more like Inversion to me.
Is there any difference between RE CVX & RE 4 on 360 vs PS3?
RE CVX and RE 4 have a full 1,000 GS achievement set on Xbox vs. a gimped trophy set (no platinum) on PS3.

I'm still waiting on the RE Chronicles games to finally go on sale. Any time now Capcom.
Game 1: sounds more like Inversion to me.
Good call. Very astute thinking. I hope it's not, though, since I just bought it for Xbox.
Good call. Very astute thinking. I hope it's not, though, since I just bought it for Xbox.
Critically acclaimed? No way
Critically acclaimed? No way
Who said anything about "Critically acclaimed" for Inversion? I just said that it was a smart guess for Inversion giving the wording of the hint. I picked the game up for Xbox because it was cheap, but i'm not expecting too much out of it. I'd really prefer something else for PS Plus.

EDIT: Sorry, I thought you were inferring "critically acclaimed" based on my comment. I totally missed that it was in the description for PS Plus. Now I agree with you. I don't think anyone would even try to call Inversion "critically acclaimed." Here's hoping for Spec Ops...

The description said Critically acclaimed... plus none of the others are a play on words. So I doubt this one would be. It shouldn't be Inversion...
he plays ps3 on a regular basis, too. if i remember correctly, you even watch a ps3 boot up at one point. great show, by the way. i hate product placement, though (even though i love my ps3 and vita).
I recall hearing that the PS3 is the the most-used home device for Netflix. Not surprising since its free (no Gold membership), does HD (unlike the Wii), and has tons of connectivity in terms of home media. Sony was probably all too eager to further their brand association with such a popular service, and I can't really blame them.
They literally said in the podcast that the FPS wasn't Inversion.....
That's too funny. I love it when people here (me included) comment, speculate, and argue about stuff that has been explicitly clarified and defined already. :)
I think you're definitely right on 2 & 4, and I really hope you are. I've always wanted to dabble in Disgaea, so free is the perfect price for me. Free is the right price for me for The Cave as well.

Sounds like we're definitely getting fucking DOA5, some may be happy but fighters are the one genre I don't want to see anymore in the IGC.

Critically acclaimed shooter? I take that to mean FPS. Maybe Crysis?
PLEASE let this be Crysis 1/2 or Spec Ops.

Spec Ops doesn't have the highest metascore, but that's due to people docking points for the multiplayer being mediocre. In terms of critical discussion within the industry? It's received more attention than any game since Bioshock. My money is on either Spec Ops: The Line or Bioshock. Borderlands 2 is possible, but I think less likely. Also Bioshock being a pack-in with Infinite preorders reduces its likelihood, making Spec Ops the front-runner in my estimation.
I know everyone is leaning towards Spec Ops for the shooter but I disagree. It didn't garner much attention and wasn't critically acclaimed (76 on metacritic).

My guess is US Plus redeems itself with Borderlands 2. They've already done 1, so there's a relationship there. There's lots of DLC for people to buy. It's on the store, it was big, critically acclaimed and people said it turned shooters upside down by the way it added rpg elements to the genre.
It's almost certainly not going to be Borderlands 2. PlayStation Plus is for oldies-but-goodies, new indie games, and critically acclaimed games that don't sell for whatever reason. Borderlands 2 is both recent and sold like gang busters.
Game 1 is Inversion, I fear.
No, one of the hosts guessed that and the other said that wasnt it. My guess is that its Crysis. They went on to talk about Crysis 3 which was recently released so it would make sense for the original to be available as a way to cross-promote the new title. I think it works as a critically acclaimed game considering all the buzz it got for its visuals

I agree. A lot of people got Borderlands 2 during the Black Friday sales including myself.

Borderlands 2 would make a lot of people happy and show they are trying to give more recent games like EU, so therefore it will be Crysis. Maybe Spec Ops since that didn't sell great, is available really cheap right now and ithey can claim it's a "recent release" that people have been clamoring for.

The fighter "should" be DOA5, again to quell those who say US+ stuff is too old and bargain binny, therefore it will be Mortal Kombat.

Are we sure the vita sale will have more different deals or is that just speculation?

i ask because i was going to go to best buy to grab a couple games today

Just picked up PS+ for the first time in time for the 15 months plus $10 back. Nice deal.

When do the March PS+ games get offically released? I checked back a few pages but coldn't see this. Sorry, I'm new to the plan.
Would love Disgaea 3 for free! But my memory card is crying.
Ugh same here, I have a full 32 GB card and an 8gb that I'm starting to put stuff on. I don't know how Sony expects this to be a feasible system in the long run with such limitations.

If the system had really taken off, where would we be right now? People shelling out 200 for memory? That would never happen. It's like they put themselves into a corner on purpose.

Also, the vita anniversary sale isn't going to have multiple weeks of deals or is it?

Also, the vita anniversary sale isn't going to have multiple weeks of deals or is it?

I believe the last time I checked the store it said 2 weeks of deals with this being the first. I could be wrong though.

I think I saw somewhere that the 2nd week was going to be a new set of deals. That's what i'm hoping atleast haha. Although my 32gb card is starting to take a beating though.

Yep Spec Ops was docked for having a mediocre multiplayer attachment (which the devs didn't want and was done by another company). Also on some of the low scores the themes went over the head of the reviewer (one asks why Nolan North starts swearing after each kill) or they sucked at the game as it is a robust challenge even on medium. I also find it interesting that almost all of the mixed reviews are from non-North American publications.

Anyone ever order a PSN code from gamestop.com? I wanted to renew my PS Plus and maybe get Walking Dead but ten hours after ordering I still don't have my code.
Anyone ever order a PSN code from gamestop.com? I wanted to renew my PS Plus and maybe get Walking Dead but ten hours after ordering I still don't have my code.
I would try to cancel that and order it anywhere else.

I order a $50 PSN code on a Sunday about a week ago. 5 days later, I had yet to receive my code. I called the following Friday after waiting that long (you can tell I had some sort of patience) to cancel the order. The lady on the phone told me she didn't even know why it was talking so long, so I just cancelled my order.

Be warned, those bad reviews you see on the Gamestop.com site about the codes taking forever to arrive are true. I would cancel the order and buy it elsewhere. Amazon supposedly also sells the online codes.
Anyone ever order a PSN code from gamestop.com? I wanted to renew my PS Plus and maybe get Walking Dead but ten hours after ordering I still don't have my code.
I've done it twice in the past and once had to wait TWO WEEKS to get my stupid digital code. They are on Amazon now. Do yourself a favor and get your codes from there from now on. And calling them to complain doesn't help either. I called about 10 times in 2 weeks lol. I'm not a gamestop hater, but I'm sure as hell never buying anything digital from them again.
Anyone ever order a PSN code from gamestop.com? I wanted to renew my PS Plus and maybe get Walking Dead but ten hours after ordering I still don't have my code.
I just ordered a $20 code from them yesterday. Sent almost instantly.

Geesh, I guess it's Amazon for me from now on. Sucks since I have GS credit. I'll probably give it a little more time before trying to cancel. Thanks guys.
Anyone ever order a PSN code from gamestop.com? I wanted to renew my PS Plus and maybe get Walking Dead but ten hours after ordering I still don't have my code.
Ordered a $50 yesterday and got it immediately. The code is on the order confirmation screen.

Edit: just looked at my email. Guess gamestop doesn't email the codes anymore, you need to go to your account history details page on gamestop.com (though they do send a "ready for download" email stating that).

To me it's just speculation. The banner on the Vita says 2 weeks of different sales, but it's really odd that they wouldn't have mentioned it in the blog post about the sale. So obviously I'm hoping for more sales, but I'm not holding my breath.
